ignition switch...baterry cables...starter...ALARM????
I own an 85 Dodge truck and I've had the same problem. It is a short somewhere in the electrical system. I have had several short circuits in mine. One was a wire shorting out on my power door lock relay. One short created a burned out fusable link. I have also had to replace the ignition module several times. I eventually bought a brand new wiring harness and replaced every circuit. There are several good ones on the market, I bought mine from hot rod wires.
You need to take you car to a mechanic. It is obvious you do not know what you are doing. Your battery is in the electrical system. Your choke is in the fuel system. They are separate. It is normal to pull out your choke to start your engine. It is not normal to have your choke out to run your engine. As soon as your engine starts, you should push your choke in. When you pull out your choke, you close the air going into your carb. Then you push in the choke to allow air to flow through your carb. That lets you speed up or slow down. If it won't run with the choke pushed in, try pushing the choke in slower.
You could have a slipping clutch which is not transmitting the drive correctly.
Will the Ignition module cut off fuel supply?
The ignition module could cut off the fuel supply. The oxygen censor will also cut off the power from an automobile as well.
2003 Chevy Tracker stalls or won't start when engine warm or hot?
I had this problem with my 2001 Tracker, 2.0 L DOHC engine. The problem was caused by the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor. It wasn't sending the right signal when it got hot.
Info on the web said a guy doused it with water after it got hot enough to affect the engine and it started right up. Replacement was about $180 for the part. Easy install.
Problem solved.
if you didnt hold cam gears in place when taking off the timing belt more than likely its out of time this happened to me on a 99 and im still trying to figure out how to time it?
I would suspect a bad starter solenoid that you shorted across. I would use a test light or multi meter to probe the wire leads that go to the starter solenoid and if they test good, replace the starter/ solenoid as an assembly.
more then likely it is you Vehicle anti Theft System..... it says a signal to start your starter and your fuel injectors...... that's why it dies right after
You'll need to pull the steering wheel, but that involves messing with the air-bag. If you haven't been trained, don't do it! Air bags are very sensitive and can go off without warning when they are out of circuit. Your efforts to save a few dollars could result in a very expensive repair and possibly injury or death. For this particular problem, you should take it to a professional. Ummm... a 1977 Chevrolet Impala doesn't have an airbag. Please wake up.
What causes a starter solenoid to click but the starter doesn't turn?
It could be that there is a bad connection between the starter solenoid and the starter, or that the starter motor itself has failed. Check the wires first. They're cheaper to replace.
This also happens when the battery is very low, so it may be worth charging the battery if you haven't already eliminated that possibility.
Make sure your battery connection are properly tight and and the corresponding cables are in their right place. If they engine doesn't turn this means your starter is not working or possibly a bad ground connection.
How does the cps affects the starts of an engine?
The cps other wise know as crank position sensor shows the ecm that the engine is turning over and then the ecm turns on the spark and the fuel to allow the car to start. If the cps is bad the ecm won't see the engine turning over so in turn it won't allow fuel our spark.
Do you have a picture of firing order for a 1978 Ford 5.8 F100?

If you are only getting fuel out of two lines, then the injection pump is probably bad.
Why does my Vauxhall Astra struggle to start up?
If it is a diesel engine it could be the glow plugs.
NOTHING IS WRONG! this is part of the emission system. the engine fast idles to quickly reach optimum operating temperature, and efficiency.
This issue could be caused by a few possibilities, such as a faulty ignition switch, a problem with the immobilizer system, or a failing fuel pump. It's recommended to have the car checked by a qualified mechanic who can diagnose the exact cause of the problem and perform necessary repairs.
There must have been 2 different locations for the #1 cyl on the dist cap for this engine. both haynes manuals and the distributer cap placed the #1 at 5:30 o-clock if you are facing the engine from the spark plug side.(driver side faceing passenger side. this stumped me for hours. had to find top dead centre to find that my 95 f150 4.9 was 1 terminal clockwise from where it should be!. the fireing order was still 1,5,3,6,2,4.
If truck wont start and Battery tested good is it a Bad starter?
It could be a bad starter or a bad solenoid.... If you turn the key, but motor will not turn, listen for clicking... if it clicks, possibly bad starter. best option would be to beg steal or borrow a voltmeter and measure voltage at starter motor when key is turned......
What does a compressor on a car do?
It compressed the refrigerant. It may also have an air compressor if the vehicle has an air ride system.
What does it mean when the car won't start immediately?
Many meanings for that, more info needed to narrow it down.
You may not have any spark, you need to check for spark with a spark tester..If you do not have spark it could be caused by your spark control modulel, bad coil ect.find out why you have no spark...Have you been having problems before with the truck turning off or stalling, prior to this? If so then i would suspect the spark control module.
