How do you get a 1998 Mazda Protege to start when the alarm keeps going off?
First, you need to find out what's wrong with the alarm. Alarms protect you by disabling the vehicle if all conditions aren't met and for some reason the alarm thinks some of the conditions aren't met. Take the vehicle to the company that installed the alarm system. You may have to get it towed if you can't find any other way to get it there.
The s3 light could be your speedometer cable if it is not working mine did that i hope this works. also the park censer might need adjusted or replaced
Isuzu trooper 3.1 diesel drains the battery overnight?
good be your battery terminals. make sure they are clean as a whistle
I had this problem with 1999 Trooper in cold weather. Was up late at night and found the headlamps flashing. Removed the fuse for the security system. Problem went away.
Car wont start just clicks plus starts after using jumper cables?
your battery is flat you need to get your battery and alternator checked a lot of parts stores and garages will check them for free
How do you shutoff theft security after replacing battery and car not starting?
you must use the same key you plan on using every day.... place in ignition and turn to on for ten seconds... then off.... do this multiple times and the car should recognize the key and the security light will go off
Hi,
I'm not sure how you would fix that, but I'm sure someone at www.holdenbarina.net would be able to help you. It's a forum dedicated to Holden Barina's and the members are really nice and helpful.
When you go to start your car the engine feels and sounds like its going to jump out the hood?
check the motor mounts
It depends on the kind of vehicle. If it's a ford, you might just need a solenoid. Some fords have an external solenoid, mounted on the drivers side wheel well. Some vehicles have a solenoid integral to the starter. In those you might need a starter.
Is a 3300 V6 engine a good choice for a 1994 Pontiac Grand AM?
if you are looking to do an engine swap,it is a bad choice, the 3300 is from the 92-93 grand am and does not directly fit. the 3300 is a 90 degree V6 engine like the 3800,you are much better to go with the 3100 that is standard in any V6 grand am from 1994 till 1998. The 3100 is a 60 degree V6, as is the 3.4 engine in the more modern grand am. Even the 3400 could be a difficult job,if you are very mechanically inclined you could do a 3300 swap yourself, but i am told that it is about 100 hours labour to put the 3800 into a grand am and the 3300 would be a very similar job.
What might cause a 94 olds achieva to turn over but not fire?
To test for security problem, turn the ignition to the on position, and look in the dash for the security light to go off after a few seconds. If it does not go off, you can try to reset it. Sometimes this can be done by leaving the ignition in the on position for about 45mins to an hour. Do not turn the ignition off. Instead, turn the key like you are trying to start it. If it starts, you have a problem with the built in security program on the computer. Sometimes it will not happen again, other times it may leave you stranded. If it is a security problem, the best thing to do is replace the computer, or have a dealership do so.
No spark
No fuel what could be the cause does it have a security system for the fuel
No compression
Definition of misfiring in combustion engine?
Engine misfire is when the air-fuel mixture doesn't burn fully, which in turn results in lower output torque on the crankshaft (i.e torque fluctuations).
Misfire can be caused by several different underlying problems:
- Worn out ignition system, distributor (old car) or spark plugs.
- Worn out piston rings, head gasket or valve seats which means that hot gases will be evacuated from the cylinder. This results in lower pressure and therefore lower output torque.
- Poor air-fuel mixture exceeding the lean combustion limit. Depending on the type of combustion system and fuel the engine can't support the flame development when the ratio between air and fuel becomes too great. Note that if the air fuel ratio is too low it can also cause the engine to misfire. Too high in cylinder turbulence relative to the spark gap and supplied voltage can also result in misfire.
I recommend that you do one of two things. one, try changing the fuel filter, if that doesn't do it then step two would be a fuel pressure check and a new fuel pump. Most likely it is the fuel pump seeing that it will run if gas is injected into the carb.
What does a ignition starter do on performance of a car?
The ignition starter has nothing to do with performance. It just starts the engine.
Where to you put your jumper cables to jump start Lincoln LS 2002?
On the battery posts in the trunk.
Check your fuel filter, this may be dirty.
Sounds like the fuel pump is not working.
Need to check the fuel pump relay and fuse and make sure thay are good.
Also check the fuel filter.
Why do you turn seizing patients over on their side?
You turn them over on their side so that they don't vomit and suck the vomit down in their lungs when they breath.
There's actually nothing wrong with your car. If it's a late model, this is a standard feature. Most sales people aren't aware of the feature because they don't bother to read their training stuff. I used to sell Hummers and I first noticed this on H2's that had been sitting for a while. The batteries would die and as soon as you put the key in it was stuck. We'd have to put a charger on the battery before we could get the key out. Actually the batteries didn't have to be completely dead. The system was designed to kick in when the battery fell below a certain voltage. We could still run the radio but wouldn't be able to get the key out. GM explained it to us as a theft prevention device. I never really bought that but that's what they said. At any rate, it's not a malfunction if you're talking about a late model car.
this could be a vacuum problem directly behind the plenum, that's the large manifold on top of the motor by the way. to be thorough, pull off the vacuum line lead and then try starting the car... if it starts you know that there is a blockage in one of your lines. problem solved..
Have you checked the ECM relay? it controls everything and nothing will work without it
Why wont dodge caravan crank after water pump change?
did the engine run hot, is it frozen or does it turn over, if so sounds like something was taken loose and not reconnected, either by design or accident, check wiring carefully, any loose wires are suspicious
Where is the fuel filter for a 2002 mercury villager?
On the driver side front door, underneath the van there is a black plastic cover, if you unscrew it you should be able to find the fuel filter located right there, the black cover too will also have a rounded section sticking out indicatiing a cylindar is there.
Why is it easier to start a car engine on a hot day than cold day?
Fuel is much easier to ignite when it's closer to its ignition temperature (warmer days) than it is when it's colder.
What does it mean when you try and start your car car and all you get is one click?
Sounds like the battery or maybe the starter.
