The water pump on an achieva is a difficult task, however, i done it. you should really get a book for the car, i recommend haynes, it is really helpful. the water pump is below the exhaust manifold and behind the timing chain. both will have to come off. Make sure when you put it back together you set the timing chain tensioner so it will stay in time and you wont bend any valves, which, bending them is extremely easy to do when your out of time. hope i helped some

i have a 96 Oldsmobile achieva sc v6 and to change the water pump was fairly easy you just detach drive belt remove 4 small bolts to detach pulley from water pump the pump itself is then expose remove bolts change pump replace bolts then pulley takes about 20mins hardest part was bracing the pump pulley to break bolts loose

Probably the clutch is not disengaging. This could be due to the clutch cable being out of adjustment, or the clutch master cylinder not having enough fluid, the clutch slave cylinder being worn out, or the throw out bearing being shot. Try to have a mechanic look at it.

you buy a pulley grabber kit, make sure you get one large enough to fit over the harmonic balance. but be careful not to damage it, harmonic balances are expensive to replace.

easiest option is to replace the steering column there all over junkyards with perfect switches in them

It is inside of the fuel tank. You will either have to raise the bed up to get it out of the top of the tank, or drop the fuel tank down from under the truck and then remove it from the tank. No other way sorry.

this is a very general question and could be a number of things, if both your engine and transmission behave poorly together the first place to look would be your air filter, see if it is clogged or old and possibly replace it with a performance type like a K&N brand filter. If you have problems accelerating quickly, if there is a sudden pause or stumble in power when you floor it, check the mass airflow sensor if your car has one, it is a small tube sensor the air flows through between the filter and intake, and see if it's small wires are dirty, they can be cleaned carefully with alcohol. This makes a huge difference on 94-96 LT1 engines. If that does not improve things try changing the fuel filter, sometimes they need to be replaced much more often than the suggested 30,000 miles. And finally sometimes the Chevy v8 although big and reliable is not always that strong, and you may be stuck with a weak stock engine.

it is under the dashboard on the left side of the steering wheel. It has a cover on it that just pulls off.

got compression ?? Assuming YES, are the spark plugs wet fuel fouled ( wont fire ) , or dry, proper gap and ready to fire yes compression....yes spark.....My mechanic said it seems to be getting to much fuel.

look up under the mirror on the plastic piece you will see a star head screw remove it that plastic cover comes off, then you should have 2 bolts take them out and the mirror should come off

I'm not sure about the 89 but on my 95 it's located on the inside of the frame rail under the drivers side door.
