Your standard security system is not allowing for your car to be started. My trailblazer did it, and i had to reset the computer codes, then have the company that installed the alarm come back and replace a faulty bypass. This may be what you are incurring
How do you change the bcm on a 2004 trail blazer 4.2?
To change the bcm in a 04 Chevy Trailblazer you have to flip up the back drivers side seat cushion and it's under there. First you take off the black plastic cover then you will see the bcm on the fron side of the fuse box, more near the drivers seat. It has a lock bar that must be pushed towards the passenger side of the car, it has a green electrical connector that pops out and 2 connectors that pop out so a total of 3 electrical connectors have to pop out to remove the bcm.

Easy way to find out. Park the vehicle on a level surface. Drain the oil and change the filter. Pour in 4.5 quarts of oil. Start the engine and run for 30 seconds. Shut down and wait 30 minutes. Check the level and add enough oil to reach the full mark. You now know the capacity.

You should CAREFULLY get under the SUV, close to where the spare is supposed to be (the rear part of the vehicle) and then look for the plastic covered (or not) steel wire that pulleys the spare down and cut it.
BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL because just right after you do this the spare tire will fall down to the floor.
Obviously i wouldn't recommend doing this if its not an emergency, because the levering system that rolls the spare tire up and down will be screwed after you do this and you would need to replace it in order to get it functional again.
If its not an emergency then do this.
Go to the nearest Pep boys and ask anyone there what to do. They will be able to fix it up or to replace the whole system in no time.

It is on the accumulator. It is a large silver cylindrical shaped part located by the Coolant reservoir tank (left rear quadrant if you are facing the engine). There should be a screw on/off cap protruding from the side, you can't miss it.

On the drivers door panel should be 3 push buttons. Once you have the seat and exterior mirrors in the desired position, press the "S" and then "1". The same can be done for a second driver, simply by pressing the "S" then "2". Actually the most common cause of low beam failure on Chevy Trailblazer, GMC Envoy and Buick Ranier is the micro relay located under the hood. It is part number 15016745 and has four prongs. To test if your relay has gone bad locate the relay in your fuse box. There will be two such relays located next to each other. One controls the low beam headlights and the other the cooling fan. Swap the relays and check your low beam headlights. If the low beams work you have a bad relay. Sometimes when the relay goes bad a bulb will burn out as well so if need be check your bulbs. Make sure to swap the relays back so that the cooling fan is not inoperative. Purchase a new relay either online, eBay, auto parts store or dealer. Best deals are usually found online but fastest is the dealer if they have them in stock. Dealer prices aren't cheap, expect to pay $40 to $50, but if you can't wait to have the relay shipped to you it is sometimes your only option. I actually found mine on eBay for $20.

I have the answer to your question about troubleshooting your headlights on your vehicle. I would isolate the wire that comes from the headlight switch to the headlamp bulbs for low beam and check to see if there is a short in the wire. You can find this wire by using a test light turn on the key and get a good ground with the test light poke the wire and see if the test light illunimates with the headlight switch on. Good luck!
check the wires, and check the fuse for your lowbeams. could of blown a fuse on your lows, but your highs will still work.
Every single time I have had a failure of low beam in a headlight without failure of high beam, it has been because the lamp bulb or halogen lamp module has reached the end of its serviceable life, not because of any wiring problems. Low beam burns out first because it is on the most. If low beam is lost simultaneously in both headlights, I would check fuse first, then the headlight switch. If low beam is lost on one side only, it is almost always going to be due to the bulb or lamp module needing to be replaced. In that case, replace them in both headlights because the other one will be going kaput in short order, as well.

CHECK THE DIMMER SWITCH.THAT IS THE PROBLEM MOST OF THE TIME.
Measure for voltage at the light bulb clip first. It could be a bad set of bulbs. If you have no voltage, check fuses, and then check for voltage before the headlight switch. It could be a faulty headlight switch. Measuring a few voltages will tell you what the problem is.
Change the headlight bulb. 99% of the time it is the bulb that is the problem.

No. One had absolutely nothing to do with the other. Leave the timing alone.

Trail blazer with 4.2 L motor does not have timing belt. It have timing chain instead. This timing chain last over 150K miles.
Possible the belt is Accessory drive belt (not timming). Per some manual this belt must be inspected and replaced if necessary every 60000 miles.

having to do this lately open trunk there are two holes right behind the plate twist out socket pull out. change bulb! thats it greg.
New HeadlineAccessing the two holes behind the plate from inside the trunk will require you to temporarily remove the carpeting/insallation material from the inside of the trunk lid.You will need two (2) #194 bulbs (its good practice to change paired bulbs at the same time). Bulbs pull straight out of socket. Use care when removing stubborn bulbs, it is not too difficult to squeeze the bulb glass with too much pressure and shatter it.
Re-insert bulb assembly into hole and twist to lock & seal into place.

Doing my water pump now on 2000 Malibu. First remove the tube that runs in front of the water pump by taking the 2 bolts off the motor mount and undo the plastic clamp on the hoses. Next remove the serpine belt. this is done by taking the tension off the belt. In order to do this take a 3/8 braker bar with a short piece of pipe and put in in the tensionser. Do not remove the bolt. The 3/8 squre is on the bottom of the tensioner. Apply a little pressure on the pipe and you'll be able to able to remove the belt. Now remove the 4 bolts on the water pump pully. They open to the left.( a normal therad ). Now you will be able to get at the 5 bolts on the water pump. Hope this helps

How do you change a transmission line on 2002 trailblazer?
OK Folks .....I just did mine as these seem to be a problem with 2002 Trailblazers/Envoys at 80K mile plus (See National Highways safety council website as their have been some complaints about these lines.) First get the pre bent lines from the dealer (all 4 sections . 2 small/2 large) as trying to splice them will be the biggest headache you will have all year. This is best done with the vehicle on a lift and you should have something available to support the transmission/transfer case as you will have to take the rear tranny support off and lower the tail of the transmission/transfer a few inches so you can get to the attachment points on the transmission (upper right rear of the transmission 3/4 of the way down.).Also you will need to disconnect the exhaust at the manifold and drop that down too, but be careful of the rear O2 Sensor when putting it back up so as not to damage it against the frame rail (Check engine light will be on if you do.). After putting all 4 pieces in (remember the clips at the joint betwen sections), check the fluid level per manufacturers instructions. Good luck.
