What could cause excess fuel consumption on a 1998 Olds Bravada?
my best friend owns a 92 bravada with a 4.3 vortech v6. he was getting around 6 to 8 miles to the gallon.There were two types of injection systems used for those years. multi-point and center port. his was center port. this is by far the worst injection system ever used, hence its very short production. we found out through diagnostics that the injector was leaking fuel inside the plenum and causing a very dangerous fuel puddle to develop. three cylinders were being starved so the CPU tried to compensate by dumping more fuel. Obviously, this only made it worse. its not difficult to fix, but it could be expensive. the injector alone was almost three hundred dollars. but, this is something you can fix yourself with a few common hand tools and a couple of hours. you only have to remove the upper intake plenum, which is easily accessed, disconnect the feed hoses from the injector, transfer them to the new one, and repeat the steps in reverse. be sure to connect ALL sensors to their rightful places before trying to start the motor. and your good to go!
In the 1996 and up 4.3 they have Central Sequantial Fuel Injection there is no spider assembly and you are able to replace each injector. These injectors have poppets that can leak and cause higher fuel consumption. Leaky fuel pressure regulator.

How do you change day running lights on 2002 Tahoe?
This looks like a long complicated explanation and process, but I just tried to be as detailed as possible to avoid any confusion.
To replace the day running lights you will need these tools: 2 Flathead Screwdrivers (you'll see why two in a sec), 1 Phillips Screwdriver, and a 13/32" hex driver or ratchet (I used the 13/32, but it was a bit big, you might have better luck in a metric size, i just didnt have the metrics), and the correct bulbs for the Day Running Lights (numbers can be found at auto parts store)
First thing you need to do is pop the hood. Along the top of the front grill, there will be four little black plastic pop-out retainers. Use the flat head screwdriver to pop these out and put them aside.
Then, look inside the grill from the front and you will see on the corners there will be black plastic pieces with a Phillips screw slot in them, there will be one per corner. Turn them so that they click out of place, don't force them too far.
Then, lift the top black engine cover that you loosened by removing the pop-out retainers and to the right of the center of the grill you will see a small hex-head screw that needs to be removed.
After that is removed, you will have to pop the sides of the grill out. There are metal clips holding it to the body, so push in on one side as you pull it and when one side pops out, do the other. Remove the grill and set it aside.
The lower light housing (where the DRLs are) will need to be popped out of place. To do this, use a flat head screwdriver to press on the clip closest to the center of the vehicle first (this one's hard, it will take some elbow grease).
Then, use the flathead to loosen the clip on the outside side of the housing. With the housing now hanging, the DRL should be able to be removed.
The plug it is in will need to be taken out of the housing first. There is a clip on the plug; press it and turn the plug counterclockwise to remove it. Then use the Phillips screwdriver to push in the small retainers on each side of the plug to remove the lightbulb.
Now the tricky part. Take both flathead screwdrivers, and one will go on one side of the bulb and one on the other. there are small grooves on each side of the bulb where it plugs in...put the flat head in the grooves, and use them at the same time as levers to remove the bulb. Then pop the new one in. (Sounds simple, but it may take a few minutes to be able to successfully remove the bulb.)
Then put the plug housing back into the headlight housing and turn clockwise. Then reattatch the housing with the outside clip going in first, then the inside one. (Remember to do both headlights.)
Then, put the grill back on. Position the four corner latches, then clip both sides. Then turn the corner clips with the Phillips to clip them on. Then screw in the hex-head screw. Then replace the four black pop-out retainers on top. Youre Done!

The TPMS sensor matching process for 08 TrailBlazer LT is outlined below:
Set the parking brake.
Turn the ignition switch to ON/RUN with the engine off.
Turn the headlamp control from off to parking lamps four times within three seconds. A double horn chirp will sound and the TPMS low tire warning light will begin to flash. The double horn chirp and flashing TPMS warning light indicate that the TPMS matching process has started. The TPMS warning light should continue flashing throughout the matching procedure.
Start with the driver side front tire.
Remove the valve cap from the valve cap stem. Activate the TPMS sensor by increasing or decreasing the tire's air pressure for 10 seconds, then stop and listen for a single horn chirp. The single horn chirp should sound within 15 seconds, confirming that the sensor identification code has been matched to this tire and wheel position. If you do not hear the confirming single horn chirp, you will need to start over with step number one.
Proceed to the passenger side front tire, and repeat the procedure in Step 5.

Proceed to the driver side rear tire, and repeat the procedure in Step 5.
After hearing the confirming horn chirp for the driver's side rear tire, check to see if the TPMS warning light is still flashing. If the TPMS warning light is not flashing, the five minute time limit has passed and you will need to start the process over beginning with Step 1.

There is a change engine oil light. It depends on the type of mileage you drive. The light will come on when the oil begins to break down. I'm running synthetic in mine and it usually last me 7500 to 8000 miles. Keep in mind also, this engine hold 7 quarts of oil. It will not break down as quickly as your engine that only holds 4 quarts... No Need to change every 3000 miles!
The fuel level sensor in the tank has a float on the end of it. It moves up or down with fuel level. Attached to it is a wiper switch that tells the computer the fuel level electronically.The switch's contacts are fine copper "hairs" the can wear off or they are faulty design. Mine did it a year ago. I have not replaced it yet I just use the gallons used on the computer. I did however remove tank and fuel pump to find problem. It costs about $140.00 for part from dealer. Two people are needed to remove tank and it is easier with tank as empty as possible.

Please be careful jacking up the Daewoo as the oil pan in this has what is refered to as a Liquid gasket it is meant to be practicaly perminent and usually does not require removal unless it has experienced some type of impact. On the Camshaft Postioning sensor I had to order one of these straight from Daewoo themselves at cost of $117.00 this came with the directions and list of recalled part. Daewoo will only reemburse you if the part is one of the CMP Lot numbers so check the CMP lot number first (1267-2321) Directions: With the engine off, disconnect the negative side of the battery remove the valve cover spark plug location, disconnect the wire harness from the Camshaft sensor remove the camshaft positioning sensor check with following recalled numbers if it matches in the (1267-2321) codes you need to call Daewoo for the replacement part. It is supposed to jet fuel into the intake manifold so it can be compressed and then it is detonated by the spark plugs.
