The power window motors on a Protege are non-repairable items. Make sure the switches, fuses, and such are in good order before replacing the motor.

Take the door apart and disconnect the seized motor from linkage and tape up window and replace motor.

You will need to remove the inner door panel, vapor shield,window and power lock controls. Sometimes the reason they come off track is because the window guide or stop is worn or broken; check with your dealers service depeartment to see what part to order; that way when you remove the panel you have the part to properly repair it. There are 2 fuse boxes in Rav4s (that's how it is in my 2002 Rav4). One is under the hood on the right hand side, the other is located behind the compartment where your left knee touches when you drive. The one that controls the power windows is probably located behind the compartment where your left knee touches when you drive. Onur Diker.

The fuse box for the vehicle is on the far driver's side near the hood latch. If you oen the drivers side door and kneel down toward the front it will be facing you. Once you take the cover off the fuse box and turn it over it will detail were each fuse is located and for what. The power window is cb-27 and needs a 30amp fuse.

don't just replace the window motor replace the whole car. get a hybrid or something

You will have to remove the door panel and replace the regulator assembly. In some cases it comes as an assembly with the motor.

Remove panel on rear door. Also remove small rear access panel. Unplug the two wire connector cable that's connected to the rear window motor. With a cable connected to your battery apply voltage to the window motor connector in either polarity, the window will travel up or down, depending on which way you connect the battery cable. Most of the time the problem is the limit switch inside the rear door... is defective

where is the fuse for the power windows on a 2001 cadillac de ville

The 2000 may not be much different from my 91 in that you don't take the doors off the car, you take the inner door trim off the doors. Remove any screws you can find around the handle and in places you can't normally see, like up by the dash and hinges and behind the latch. Once these are out, you have to pull the inner door trim away from the sheet metal of the door starting at the bottom with your fingers or a plastic putty knife to get it started. (Again, this is how I did my 91) Being sure all screws are out, you have to pull hard to get it to start popping lose. Work your way around. When all are out, it will be hanging by a lip on the top of the door. It should then lift off the lip and come free, working it past the latch. I used silicone to attach the glass to the scissor-mounted glass rest, but raised and lowered the window a few times to see just where the two should meet. I think its best to try to put it back where the factory had it. You don't need or want much silicone, but the two surfaces must be clean so they stick together. Let it dry for a couple days before stressing the connection by using the window. To put the door panel back on, work in reverse order. Be careful to align the friction clips at the bottom before you pound them back in. The screws should line up perfectly or you've shifted it from where it was before.

all depends on the year i would say under the dash on the drivers side or on the drivers side in the engine compartment. Also on some it might be in the trunk in a side compartment(3rd gen)

what is the average repair cost to fix an electric window switch motor 2003 jeep

carefully remove door panel. look towards the bottom/right of door and you should see 3 bolts (10mm i think). reach inside door and on the bottom right of the motor will be the harness, unplug it. secure window from free falling and then remove bolts, take old motor out, put new one in($45-$60), line the holes up and slowly turn it back/forth til you feel the gears fall in place. tighten bolts reconnect new harness and you should be good to go.

Check under hood for a power distribution box

More than likely it is your switch or a short in the wires, if the motor was going it would not work part of the time. I would say 95% it is the switch. Look for a part for this replacement on line , my guess about $50.

on the relay plate under the steering column i hope mines gone dead. using a torque ( splined tip ) tool remove the two part pannel below steering column. relay plate is in there, fuse is 30amp.

First you have to determine the cause before you can repair anything. It could be a blown fuse, bad circuit breaker, bad wiring, bad regulator, bad motor or a bad switch.

Mine did.

there is no fuse, it is a self resetting computer controlled relay. let me guess back windows work not front? dealer only sorry

take the door panel off and unhook the power motor, run wires or small jumper cables with alligator clips from the car battery right on the motor, you might have to switch + and - around. It should go right up. Please make sure your wires don't touch each other! This worked for me.

First remove the Window Crank Handle. Then remove all of the screws you can find, 1 for the door release, 1 for the door grip, and 4 for the door panel. Pop loose all of the lower door area, and carefullyremove the door panel. Remove the plastic behid the door panel, SAVE IT!!. With the window all of the way down, remove the screws that hold the window in and remove the window. Revers to reinstall, being sure to locate the new window into the grooves for that.

you have to get the panels and the window regulator. get window switches and wire it all up good. you should be fine. a real pain, but it can be done.
