There many things that can cause an electric window to not operate properly. Some mechanical but usually electrical. It would help to know the make model and year of the car. Is it just one window, does it try to go up, does it make a sound but does not go up?

The 1994 Lexus Ls400 has fairly standard wiper arms so most replacement wiper blades will have step-by-step instructions. This vehicle most likely has hook-end wiper arm attachments or possibly pin attachments. See videos below.

For left hand drive cars, it is on the left hand end of the dash board. Open the left hand side door fully, put a screwdriver into the small slot and lever off the cover. Inside you will find the fuse layout and pliers to remove/replace fuses. For right hand drive cars, the fuse panel is on the right hand end of the dash.

Bring to a shop that has an ABS scanner to determine the problem

It sounds like the window regulator, the thing that makes the window go up and down, has worn out. The only way to fix it is to replace the window regulator, which will require removing the outer door skin...Yes, the outer door skin. The door handle is held on by a couple of plastic pins that you should buy replacements for as they are hard to get out and may not be reusable. You will also require a special tool to remove the retainer nut that holds the glass to the regulator, it sells for about $27 without shipping. You will need a drill to remove the pop-rivets that are holding the old regulator to the door steel. I chose to use small bolts to replace the rivets as the rivet gun to put the size rivets that are required is not cheap, and will not do the smaller, more common pop rivets. by the drivers legs, fuse #17, i believe, look in your manual

if it is the same as a 90 it is easy. take the door panel off, look for window motor mounting screws. get a 1/2 in drill bit and drill holes thru the metal on the door from the inside. you will see three divets or punches (these are to help you line up the wholes directly over the mounting screws there are 3 of them) in the metal that you will drill out. those holes will allow you to use a 10mm socket with an extension to take the three mounting screws out. pull the motor and make sure to unplug the connector and replace with the new one. This is a common problem with these cars i hope this help!

If your skoda is 1999-2007 then

long story short:

Open the window fully, take off the door panel (3 little bolts in the bottom of the door panel, 3 big bolts behind the door handle (the one you hold when you close the door from inside), one little bolt behind the electric wing mirrors control knob, everything else is held by clips). carefully unplug some of the shorter wires connected to the panel so that you could put it on the ground rather then having someone hold it. take off the small triangular piece that covers the mirrors bolts from inside. unplug the mirrors wires, unscrew the bolt while holding the mirror and pull it out.

When you put on a new mirror everything is pretty much backwards.

You go to ace hardware store and buy something called a boody bolt and you take that bolt and drop it in your oil chamber.

Before this is started you need to know that you will need a large pop rivet gun to complete installation. REMOVAL. With the window in the up position, remove door trim panel and plastic water shield. Secure the glass in the half way up position with door stops wedged in between the window and door.Do not proceed til you are sure the weight of the glass is supported.Remove the rear guide channel nuts and and take the assembly out of the opening. Punch or drill out the center pinsof the rivets that secure the window regulator in place.Unplug the electrical connector. Move the regulator until it is disengaged from the guide channel and lift through the acces hole. If replacing the window motor, make sure to place a screw in the slot to lock the regulator before separating the motor from the regulator to prevent the spring from unwinding and causing injury. INSTALLATION. Place the regulator in position in the door and engage to the guide channel assembly. Secure the regulator to the door using 3/16 inch manuel aor 1/4 inch power rivots and the rivet tool. Plug in the electrical connector Tighten the channel nuts securely. Install the door trim panel

I would say that it's in the drivers side panel by where your left foot would be but behind the side panel.

I'd take it to the automotive glass shop (or have them mobile to your location). You should be able to get it done for a reasonable price (quick).

That is unless you have time and interest in getting a lot of cuts on your hands from working (blindly) inside the passenger door (afer removing a bunch of trim pieces).

the power window is relatively easy to fix if you have a buddy. undo the arm rest screws then gently pull the paneling away from door,until you have released all the clips.Then panel will have to be manuevered around the door handle .disconnect the inside door marker light (if equiped).that will give you access to the window and motor.they are on cables and they break. the mechanism kit is about $60.00 on internet $150.00 at dealer.

If you take mechanism out have a plan to hold up window with a wooden dowl cause bubba(your best buddy) wont be after trying to hold up window for a couple of hours while you try to figure whats wrong with it.

First prise up and remove the door armrest to the rear of the window switch and then prise up the complete window switch panel (including padded area) FRONT EDGE FIRST. Continue to lift and prise from the front edge until the panel can be pulled forward so the tab on the rear edge can slide out from under the armrest frame.

check all the fuses some times they are labled wrong

Take the inside door panel off..... First remove small cover that fits over one Phillips head screw below the arm rest. Remove the cover behind the inside door handle. Remove the screw there. unscrew the push down door lock. now, from the bottom of the panel, gently pull the door panel back away from the door. there are small, white, plastic clips, along the edge that hold the pannel. just pull away. lift the panel and disconnect the wire that leads to the latch. disconnect wires to the speaker, small light below, and power window switch. now take off black sheet of plastic. connect back the switch by itself so you can move the window track up and down. reach in and replace glass into track. use some clear caulking, and spread into track.(not much is needed). make sure that you place the glass back in the exact previous location. reverse process to install the door panel.

I JUST CHANGED MINE IN MY 88 PRELUDE. IT TELLS U IN THE REPAIR MANUALS, LIKE CHILTONS. FIRST, U HAVE TO TAKE OFF THE TRIM PANEL. ADJUST THE WINDOW WHERE U CAN SEE THE CLAMPS AND SCREWS THAT HOLD THE WINDOW TO THE REGULATER THREW THE HOLES. THERE ARE 2. UNSCREW THEM AND GENTLEY TAKE THE WINDOW OUT OF THE DOOR. THEN UNSCREW THE BOLTS THAT HOLD THE REGULATOR IN PLACE, SHOULD BE 4 BY THE WINDOW CRANK, AND 2 TOWARD THE LEFT SIDE. AFTER THE REGULATOR IS COMPLETLEY LOOSE, ADJUST TO LET THE REGULATOR COME COMPLETELY OUT OF THE MAIN HOLE IN THE DOOR. TO INSTALL, DO EXACLY OPPOSITE. TAKING THE WINDOW REGULATOR OUT, AND INSTALLING IT BACK IN IS PRETTY EASY. INSTALLING THE WINDOW BACK IN, WILL TAKE A LITTLE TIME, TO ALIGN AND TIGHTEN THE BOLTS TO THE WINDOW CLAMP ONTOP OF THE REGULATOR, ASK A BUDDY TO HELP U OUT ON THAT ONE. INSTALL TIME TOOK ME ABOUT AN HOUR AND FIFTEEN MINUTES.

IF YOUR WINDOW IS NOT MOVING AT ALL(UP OR DOWN) IT IS YOUR MOTOR BUT IF IT IS MOVING EITHER UP OR DOWN, MEANING IT WILL MOVE ONE DIRECTION BUT NOT ANOTHER THEN IT'S YOUR SWITCH

with a special person more commonly known as a mechanic. if you dont know how, don't do it. chances are you'll screw up the car.
