Check brake fluid level in master cylinder when cold (fluid expands when heated)

Make sure parking brake is fully released

Check the linkage between the shifter and the transfer case. If its ok, go in reverse for about half a block and then try to engage it. If that doesn't work, maybe you have a vacuum leak somewhere.

The ignition module on a 86 ciara 2.5 is located under hood, center,lower engine area,below driver side of intake manifold . mounted inside of distributor

The radio is usually supplied power until you open one of the doors. Perhaps what you have is a bad door sensor? Try shutting off the car, and then opening the passenger door and see if it shuts the radio off. If that doesn't fix it, then whatever module the radio is connected to is probably bad.

You need a special tool to remove the door and window crank and a tool for the retainers. TAke the inside handles off and then all o f the screws you can find then the retainers around the sides and bottom of the panel. When all is loose, pull out on the bottom of hte panel and push in on the top to disengage it from the door.

Hey Mart==Generally just one valve ticking wouldn't cause a power loss. It deoends on what kind of car and engine you have. It could be an injector ticking which would cause a dead miss. GoodluckJoe

I hear that the problem is the pressure to the fuel pump. Also have heard that the alternator is the problem. To be honest, I cannot figure out why mine will not start either. I have replaced the fuel filter, O2 sensors, thermostat, reset the inertia switch, and spark plugs and wires.... nothing has worked yet.

I have had the same problem, 2cd Explorer. I replaced the fuel relay. No problems now

You blew the voltage regulator. Depending on the model, it is either a separate component or located inside of your alternator. Based on your problem, I would guess you need a new alternator. Replace it and your car will be fine.

If the tire locks up when you apply the brakes and you have drum brakes then you may have brake fluid leaking onto the brake shoes.

If you have ABS then you may have a bad wheel sensor.

The adjusters on the brake shoes are out of adjustment or broken.

Springs or hold down hardware may be broken.

Cracked brake linings.

Backing plates are worn out.

You may be out of luck with this check. I have a 93 with a non-turbo 1.6 and due to a non-start senario I knew the ign. module was the culprit. Being a master Ford/GM tech. and former automotive parts sales man at a local NAPA store, I took the unit out and took to every parts store around as well as a ford dealer. No one has a way to check this module to see if it is bad. Being that the car was made in Australia the local Ford dealers never botherd catering to soulving any of it's primary problems. If you suspect the module is the problem due to a no-start...the module is not cheap and trial and error may be the only course of action...good luck.

my son had the same problem & he could not find a module we replaced the whole distributor & it started but the dist. cost him over 300 dollars.

No, only properly equipped four wheel drives with a Neutral position in the transfer case.

The only way I can explain it is to follow the wiring from your coil pack (where the spark plugs are) and the wires plug into the ignition module. Also go go www.wrenchead.ca and it has a manual that explains all.

Regarding a model 1997,2 liter sonata, there is not an ignition control module as such. Ignition control comes from the ECM (ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT) through the Ignition Power Transistor (often called Igniter) and then to the Ignition coil.I do not have any information on the 1.8 or the 3.0 liter models.

Pulse-code modulation (PCM) is a method used to digitally represent analog signals.

Check the fuse, bulbs/assy., and wiring another thing to check is where the bulbs connect. sometimes like my 94 one of the connectors in the bulb housing was broken. also there is a brake light sensor on the brake petal that is turned on when you depress the brake. usually near the top of the brake petal

front of the engine above the starter,behind the coil packs (where all you spark plug wires are plugged into) remove all six 5.5 mm bolts from the ignition coils unplug two connectors on the left and one on the right.

starting from the front on the passenger side is #1 then it goes 1,2,3,4 to the back then the front of the drivers side is #5 the it goes 5,6,7,8 to the back front 5 1 6 2 7 3 8 4

Check the Idle Air Control. It might have carbon deposits and need cleaning. Also do the same for the throttle body intake. It might also need cleaning.

So, 12/0.25 = 48 Ohms.

Diodes are rated to use a certain amount of current. If you go over that amount, it will eventually destroy the device, how long it takes to destroy the device depends on how much more current you are running through it than it is rated at.

Power = Watts = W, is expressed as V X I. Since V =I X R, W then also = R X I X I

Same as V**2 / R

So, if your I = 3 and your R = 3, and because I X R = V,

3 X 3 =9 Volts
