You may have knocked off a wire when you reconnected the starter wire, Check the wire going to the O2 sensor. if this isn't it take it to a shop and have them scan the ecm. It could be a flewk.good luck....Michael
This could be one of two problems. The brake light flashing and beeping alone would indicate low brake fluid level. Just open the hood and look on the driver's side way in the back. The owner manual will show you where. You will see a a fluid level on the outside with min/max lines. The fluid is hard to see, but if it is down to min then the light will blink and the warning beep will sound. I hope that is your problem. The second option would be a faulty ABS module and if that is the case it would need to be replace or rebuilt.
soounds like steering wheel fluid needs to up
you jank it you jank it
How do you replace a tire pressure sensor on a 2002 Ford Windstar?

Sounds like your engine is suffering a common problem with the 3.8's - an intake leak caused by some bad 'isolator' bolts.

Can snow make the steering wheel shake in a 2004 Saturn Ion?
Yes A VERY common concern is steering wheel shake due to ice in the rims
What brake fluid is used in a 2003 Ford Windstar?

( DOT 3 brake fluid meeting Ford specification ESA-M6C25-A )
How can you get a Ford Windstar shifter out of park?
You are supposed to only have to press the brake pedal. Evidentally your brake lights aren't working. You probably need to see if the brake light switch is bad.
The only way to know for sure is to remove the wheel bearing and carefully inspect the bearing and rac. A humming noise does not sound like a wheel bearing. This sounds more like tire noise. Inspect your tires first. If you are unfamiliar with how to remove, inspect, repack or replace wheel bearing and/or race, purchase for around $12, a repair manual for your car at most auto parts sores.
AnswerIt isn't the wheel bearing at all. If this is happening to you on hard left turns and it is a humming/ breaky-poundy sound (like metal on metal) it is your exhaust. There is a rubber mount for the exhaust to hook onto behind the axel and if it has come undone it will make this sound. The sound also happens with it on sometimes also, its just the exhaust hitting off of the firewall. Try taking it to a muffler specialist and getting it attacted premanently so it can not move. AnswerI bought after market frt wheel brgs for $41 Cdn each side. SPECIAL TOOLS NEEDED: 30mm 12 pt socket 7mm hex Allen key 13mm socket for lower ball joint bolts 18mm socket & wrench for lower strut mount Remove wheels, brake caliper, rotor, splash shield, x3 ball joint bolts. Remove bolt for strut mount. Pull assembly away from CV axle, tap out steering knuckle from strut assy. USE CAUTION WHEN PRESSING BRGS...take to VW dealer for 1 hr labour charge. Make sure you torque axle nuts. AnswerBad tires are noisy, but stay noisy when slightly swerving. A wheel bearing will get quieter when you swerve slightly. A bad left wheel bearing will get quiet when you swerve to the right, & the weight is on that bearing visa-versa for the right side. It may also get quieter on the highway. A bad tire(broken belt) will be noisy, 'till you change the tire. With the car on the ground you can grab the suspected wheel at the top & rock the tire back & forth. A bearing that is bad will feel like the wheel isn't quite bolted on right, a little 'clunking' as you pull back/forth...your VW is going to last, so get a good replacement, quality bearing. Cheap bearings are for someone selling the car, who doesn't care that it will be bad again in 50K. AnswerOMG: good luck with such advice. Case: 1995 Saturn: symptom: humming from front left. Driving Test: Changes pitch and gets louder when forced turns load the wheel...less volume when straight or turning opposite way at speed (45mph or higher speed). On the Lift Test#1 : trans in neutral. with secured wheel and in absence of loose tie rod ends or ball joints, grab wheel and feel for any play. Some will be noted if wheel bearing is worn. It may be only miniscule with this static test. On the Lift Test#2: put your hand on the coil spring and spin the wheel. You will definitely feel vibration in the spring.Tires are easy to check. Just swap tires or put on a spare on the suspected offending axle. Troubleshootin: logical process of elimination without untested assumptions.

Don't just replace the bearing itself. You need to press out the bearing races and replace those as well or you will risk damaging your new bearings. There is an outer bearing as well as an inner bearing - Replace both. It is a good idea that if you replace one side of the axle, you should also do the other side.
A wheel bearing hum is quite distinctive. The rumbling sound will increase in pitch as you increase speed and will decrease as you decelerate. To determine if it is bearing noise or engine noise that you are hearing, while at Highway speed take your foot off the accelerator and carefully shift the transmission into neutral. As the engine idles down, the bearing rumble will not change in pitch and will be consistent with the speed that you are running.
Why would the alarm go off randomly in your 2001 Mercury Sable?
Most all alarm systems have various sensors for detecting such things as vibration, heat and or movement around your vehicle and so forth. If these sensors are set to sensitive and or are defective the alarm system will be more of a nuisance than a deterrent. , EzForJesus
PS if this is an OEM type of alarm you might want to contact your dealer for this information.
There are 2 sensors which you have to be aware of. One is under the hood and one is in the trunk. My trunk sensor was sticking and the alarm was intermittently going off at all times during the day and night. I disconnected the trunk sensor and the car has functioned normal ever since. I bought an electrical wiring diagram for my car and figured it out.
Steering wheel noises can be caused by low power steering fluid. A loose or worn belt or suspension problems can also cause a steering wheel to make noises when turned.
Yes, the TCC (Torque Converter Clutch) can do that. Remove the TCC fuse and see if the problem stops. With the fuse removed the vehicle won't go into overdrive but it should not stall at a light.
How do you turn on fog lights in a 2001 ford windstar?
Not exactly sure on the Windstar, but recently had the same question for a Contour: try pulling on the lightswitch. Note: the fog lights on the Contour can only be turned on when the headlights are on.
Use the removal tools to pull the radio out - note: you do NOT need to remove the plastic trim piece! :)Pull the 2 wire harness connectors offDisconnect the radio antennaRemove the 2 screws per side to remove the primary cover from the radio
This exposes the stuck CD - just slide it out.
My problem is that the radio now wants to jam much more frequently these days! I'll figure out where to put some lubricant some day. :)
The only way you will know what is wrong ( there could be problems that do not affect the way it runs right now ) is to have the computer codes read. If the light is on there "is" a problem.
What does the warning light above the temperature gage mean on a 1999 ford windstar?
On a 1999 Ford Windstar :
The warning light ( that looks like an engine ) located above your engine
temperature gauge is the " CHECK ENGINE " warning light . It comes on if
something is effecting the engine emission controls . If it stays on , drive it into a professional or if it starts flashing that means an engine cylinder misfire has been detected and you need to avoid any heavy acceleration or deceleration until you have it repaired
What makes a humming sound in 97 Ford Windstar while van is in reverse or drive?
Humming, like the van doesn't know the lyrics?
Seriously, humming is a common symptom of worn wheel bearings. Those are very difficult to diagnose - and not an easy do-it-yourself project - 8 on a 1-10 scale.
I would suggest a tire shop, repair shop you trust to have them check the wheels out.
See "Related Questions" below for more about what's involved in replacing wheel bearings.
"... it TRIES to unlock..." is the 'key' here...
Since we know a sliding door will not open until it is unlocked, I would investigate the locking mechanism.
See "Related Questions" below for some specifics - note the one about the door ajar problem has lots of information about the door lock actuators too.
If you are not getting air to defrost the windshield how do you fix it?
How do you remove the tail lights to install a trailer wiring harness?
There should be 2 Philips screws that hold in the tail light. After unscrewing them, pull the light fixture straight back inline with the length of the vehicle. There areretaining clips that hold it in, but they will pull out and then pop right back in. Hope that helps.
Unfortunately, that's the way it works in my 2006, too. Use the fan control that is at thigh-level to the left of the third-row seat, driver's side, to adjust the flow rate through the rear vents. This control only works if the both the "AC" and "Rear AC" switches are activated. It would have been nice if the rear blower could contol fresh air flow also. Not really a "flaw", per se, just short-sighted design.
Why does your 2001 ford windstar traction control make a grinding sound when it kicks in?
I would use the word "grind" to describe the normal operation of the traction control.
But...
Because the traction control system is activating the brakes, it could also be symptomatic of worn brakes.
