first symptom of a vacuum leak would be a shaky idle also a trained ear will listen for a hiss around a vacuum hose also the engine miss usually goes away as engine rpm is increased.find the cylinder that does not changethe way the car runs by pulling spark plug wires off one atr a time with insulated ignition pliers if you have seven cylinders that are strong and one that barley changes idle when you pull spark to that cylinder chances are there is a vacuum lek to the weak cylinder.follow any vacuum hose that lead to the wek cylinder spray carb cleaner on intake manifold gasketr while engine running. if engine smoothes out while spraying gaskets,air is probally entering causing that cylinders fuel ratio to be lean. also egr valves are known to cause intrernal vacuum leaks. a good tech should finbd it in 15 minutes

on the left side from front to back is 1,3,5,7

on the right side from front to back it 2,4,6,8

A 4 stroke engine takes 4 strokes to complete a cycle. 1, intake. 2, compression. 3, ignition/power. 4, exhaust.

The car will act like it is out of gas, sputter and eventually die, if there is enough water in the tank. If there is only a little bit, it will ususally sputter just a little before it evaporates the water. Still, no matter what happens with the water, you will need to replace the fuel filter, which is how the water got in there in the first place.

You should slow down, and always read any of the signs that are up.

Run a computer diagnostic scan to see what you can find. You'll be able to borrow, rent or buy an OBD code scanner from most auto parts retailers in your area.

If that doesn't show anything, try a compression test. If the compression test is good, just replace the plugs, rotor, cap and wires.

A sixty liter engine has about 3660 cubic inches. If it only has 400 horses at those cubes you have a real doggy little motor. However, the answer to your question is the same for all engines of all types. Make sure they breathe; maybe supercharge it, ram charge it or turbo it. A rougher cam will add some spunk as will a wide open exhaust system. With 3600 cubic inches, tho, your ride ought to be pretty sporty as it is. <please correct your question. there are no sixty liter engines. you realize that the engnie would be bigger than your car.>

There are a number of things, but the two primary reasons are that diesel fuel is far less combustible than gasoline, and temperature of the fuel. Diesel fuel gels at 5.5 degrees F. Remember, the only thing starting a diesel engine is compression, they have no spark! (And no, the glow plugs don't ignite fuel, they warm the air in the cylinder!)

First answer is correct and true. I just wanted to add the fact that diesel's compression ratio's can be as high as 21:1-23:1 (older ford IDI engine's) but typically sit around 18-20:1. So in that case a lot more air is compressed per compression stroke. When you compress air it becomes extremely hot. Inject a little squirt or six (depending on how many pulse's that particular manufacturer programed the injector to do) into that super heated air and BOOOOM the explosion is ten fold more powerful then any gasoline ignition process. As for the glow plugs again first answer is correct so with that said it aide's in getting the air hot faster and nothing to do with the combustion process like people might think.

Most likely a dirty throttle body. It affects these trucks seriously and is a very common complaint. Dhoulf br cleaned manualy then the use of a "Top Tier" gasoline and some Techron once in a while will keep it clean.

SPL means the motor is Split-Phase, on the motor where you found that it should have two numbers, i.e. 120/240 SPL HP. Meaning the motor operates different given 120 volts compared with 240 volts.

there are not a lot of hoses, you have one from the fuel pump under the tank to the carb and one from the fuel pump to the intake for vacuum, there is also one from the air box to the valve cover for ventilation.

the bottom of the fuel pump is what connects to the carb, the side is for vacuum.

I am having the same problem with my transmission. What holes are you talking about and where are they located? Mine leaks all the time, I have tried new gaskets and sealants but it still leaks. It runs great, but I have to keep the oil topped off every couple of weeks. I think it is a A727 tranny. Very tough.

Trouble code P0171 means: Fuel Trim System Lean (Bank 1) Trouble code P0174 means: Fuel Trim System Lean (Bank 2)

A vehicle's computer will give the mechanic specific codes but usually the underlying problem is obvious to you; for example if you unplug the electrical in seats in most newer cars, it will turn on the airbag light which will send codes to your mechanic when hooked up to their diagnostic equipment. These codes usually allow the mechanic to electronically reset the computer in the vehicle therefore turning off the dashlight, or whatever caused the computer to trip electronically... have you had the mechanic hook your car to the computer? They should know what the code means if they have the right equipment..........Hope this helps, wish you question was more specific. If your car's radio screen reads, CODE, this is usually due to a dead battery and happens the first time you go to turn radio back on......

Proper maintenance

If the retainer clips are missing, replace them. If the holes on the plastic tray have widened so as the attaching bolts/screws fall through; use a washer. If the tray is torn, buy another.
