I know the secret and know its pretty easy , hold down the top and bottom four approximatley four seconds , you will hear the heater system run a diagnostic from cold to hot wait for lights to stop blinking realease bottons if this fails you have a problem within the system ancient Chinese secret pass it on !

the power streeig pump is going out Check the fluid level of the power steering pump first. It could simply be low on fluid. When the unit starts to fail you will loose power assisted steering. I dont think you are at that point. Start with the cheap solutions first. hope this helps. "G"

yes if the gas cap wasn't on properly then the change in pressure would set off a sensor.

put the cap on right or replace it and if the check engine goes away after a few days that was your problem

There is an aftermarker PCM (power control module) available for around $100. that will increase horsepower; remove the speed limiter and several other things. Other engine mods are recommended to take advantage of the extra horsepower and 91 or more octane is recommended.

I Have a 1997 Eclipse GS. There are two small speakers on the front dash near the windsheild. These speakers are 4 inches. The ones in the door are 5 1/4 because I actually took it apart and measured the speakers. The ones in the back or side panel are 6 1/2.

The nozzle of the sprayer may be plugged. Try sticking the end of a pin into the hole and working it around. Pour hot water over the nozzle and hose and tap them sharply a couple of times, then run the squirters.

If you press the stick and don't hear anything then your wiper motor is faulty or you've blown a fuse.

Also-humming noise when push to spray, maybe motor ok but I used hose to spray in water tank and hose sprayed lines to see if all going threw. maybe line clogged.

Is it water or anti-freeze? If its anti-freeze your heater core is leaking which is usually a costly repair.

If its water its probably a problem with the body drain. Seems to be a on going problem with some Mercedes models even S class.

Is the water leaking from the passenger's side? If so, the water would most probably be coming from the heat blower motor area, it is under the gloves compartment. This usually happens when the drainage pipes (under the hood in front of the windshield) get clogged by tree leaves, and rain starts to build up on them. It is a common problem in Benz cars.

Speed is not necessarily linked to a particular horsepower. However, a 200 horsepower car is capable of speeds over 120 miles per hour.

I guarantee you dont have the tools to rebuild one. Unless you work in a machine shop.

You need to buy a re-manufactured one. But what makes you think it has a problem. I have 2 of them with over 300 thousand K's on one.

Yes you can, with a lot of elbow grease and the right tools. Should be pretty straightforward. To add to this, Subaru parts are like legos, so you have tons of leniency in this area.. Seriously, you can grab pretty much anything from any model and bolt it right up to any other model, doesn't even matter what year they are. People build Frankenstein motors all the time, someone will put new 2.5L heads on a 10 year old 2.2L block, run the injectors from a 2.0L WRX, grab the intake manifold off the first Suby they see in the junkyard, swap in the STi pistons their friend was gonna sell after building up his own motor, then blah blah (yeah, I could go all day..)

I'll I have to do on my 96 grand am is put the steering wheel all the way down (tilt steering) before putting it into park.

its all oabut hearing the click after the keys r all the way back slowly turn forward and try to pull them out ull here a click and they well slide right out

this used to happen to me, too... key would get stuck in the accessory position and my battery got drained twice. on the bottom of the steering column there is a little plastic square cover; pop it off and you will feel a round button; press this button and the key will come out even if it's not in the off position.

My 1996 Grand AM had the same problem. The keys would get stuck in the ignition. It turned out to be a worn out shifter. The shifter was not getting all the way into park.

I had the same problem on my 97. Like the poster above it was the shifter. There is a electric solenoid on the shifter. It's plunger is spring loaded so that when you go into park the solenoid deenergizes and allows the ignition switch to go all the way to the off posititon and release the key. The spring on the plunger gets weak or clogged with gunk and the plunger cannot drop to deenergize the circuit. The solenoid is riveted to the shifter so it cannot be changed. You will end up having to replace the shifter assembly.

How about putting your seat belts on! If the chime is not going off when you put on the belts, take it back to the dealer.

-------------- Better Answer (for the 2007 - 2006 may be similar) - of course you should buckle up. But it nags even when your door is open or key in ignition, fast and loud. The 2009 model doesnt do this, and the dealer refused to lower the volume on my 2007.

I wouldn't recommend totally disabling it, but it is painfully loud . I finally broke down and removed it with the help of my neighbor, a mechanic. You have to remove the entire center console. There are also screws inside the storage compartment (lift the rubber liner) and on the sides. The shift knob screws off, then you lift the console out. Just a heads up, the wires wrapped in yellow tape are the airbags, no big risk. The chime is inside a small plastic box below\behind the cigarette lighter (approx 7 inches wide, remove and unsnap cover) The speaker is integrated with the circuit board. I don't recommend removing it - there are other vital items on the board. The speaker is surrounded a 1 inch deep plastic surround (part of the top cover). So, I put electrical tape directly on the speaker, and stuffed the surround with tire patches, then taped it and put everything back. Now, if you notice a few red lights, engine, etc after you put it back together, don't panic. You computer system will eventually do a self-test, mine reset after I drove for about 5 minutes and restarted the car. The muffled chime is now manageable to me. I can deal with it for at least 30 seconds if I must get in, out, or unbuckle. There you go! Oh, and those other posts about how if you disable it, it will disable the airbags are LIES according to my mechanic - they must have a separate circuit. But as I said, I can live with a quieter chime, and believe in seatbelts. Drive Safely.

Disconnecting the negative battery terminal for 10+ minutes usually resets the Service Engine Soon" light. Please note that it will reset everything else electrical in your car as well (e.g.- radio and clock). If the light reappears shortly after reconnecting and restarting the vehicle you will need to get the code read and go from there. If nothing noticable most likely an O2 sensor.

You can also pull the the fuse/breaker marked PCM/IGN from the electrical center under the hood. The box is on the passenger side under a marked plastic cover between the edge of the fender and the diagonal strut/support.

Insert something thin and hard, such as a pocket knife blade, in between the remote halves. After this, simply pull the halves apart and replace the old battery with the new. Snap the remote back together.

you could have a heater core leaking or your windshield is leaking and the water is running down behind the dash and onto the floor.

Check the blower motor resistor as it controls the fan speeds. Also check the blower motor as it will burn out resistors if its drawing to much amperage

To reset the oil life in the display press and hold down the reset button for 3 to 5 seconds. This works for the GTP. Hope this helps. "G"

The front speakers (door)are 6-1/2" round and the rear shelf speakers are 6"x8" rectangular. Pioneer make "exact match" speakers for this car, nice speakers and very reasonably priced. Rob. robj1@msn.com

Try bleeding any air out of your cooling system. This is a shot in the dark, but check the coolant temp sensor. It's directly under the thermostat.

There could be an issue with the anti lock brakes if it equipped with them. It could also be that the brake fluid is low or the switch for the emergency brake is broken.
