Brake fluid may be a bit low. Cold weather will contract it, when it warms up it will expand and light will go off. Try adding just a little fluid. If the brake pedal ever feels "mushy", especially in cold weather it also could be a failing master brake cylinder.

Why is my Car clicking when trying to start?
The "clicking" is probably your solenoid trying to engage the starter. The problem is most likely a low battery which is strong enough to power the solenoid (hence the clicking), but not strong enough to turn the engine over. Your battery may have been run down (by leaving your lights on, for example), or it may simply be old and need replacing. Usually it's low battery charge or corroded battery terminals. I can also be starter and a number of other problems, but start with the usual suspects. If you can start it with a battery boost/booster cables from another vehicle, start it long enough to take it to an auto parts retailer. They are usually willing to test batteries and charging systems. Find out if it's the battery or if the charging system is not keeping the battery charged. Your battery only STORES electrical energy, and if the alternator can't keep the battery charged there won't be enough energy in the battery when you try to start it, and the starter will just click. On the other hand, sometimes a battery gets old and tired and it won't hold a charge any more... the results are the same, so you have to have the battery tested. UNFORTUNATELY, when an older battery goes completely dead it will often just give up and you could have both alternator AND battery problems. Anyway... have it all tested and you'll know where you are.

Changing the brakes on a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
I just did the rear brake pads only. My front pads are still good. Here is what I advice to do for rear pad replacement.
Clean off the area around the master cylinder under the hood, (you don't want any dirt getting into the master cylinder) unscrew the cap, and with a turkey baster, remove some brake fluid, set the baster aside because you will want to put the fluid back when you are done.
After you remove the wheels, you will see a "window" where you can insert a screwdriver between the rotor and the inboard pad. Pry the inboard pad away from the rotor, compressing the piston as much as you can.
Remove the two bolts (1/2" hex bolts) and support the caliper while you work on it. You don't want the weight pulling on the brake hose. Pop off the plate with the Jeep logo on it that covers the outboard pad and then slide the outboard pad off the caliper. I left he inboard pad in place because the piston needs to be completely compressed in order to get the new pads on. I put a clamp on, one end onto the old inboard pad that I left on, the other end of the clamp on the back of the caliper, and then I completely compressed the the piston. Then I removed the inboard pad.
You will need to put the new inboard pad in first, then slide the outboard pad in place, install the plate with the Jeep logo. Put some of the silicone grease they supply you on the metal to metal contact points including the bolts that mount the caliper. The bolts go through rubber boots with metal shims inside them. You will probably have to gently squeeze the boots so you can put the caliper back in place over the rotor.
After you finish tightening the caliper bolts and put the wheels back on, don't forget to put the brake fluid back in the master cylinder.
Where is the fuel filter located on a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo?
I see this question all the time. People the fuel filter is always located between the fuel tank and the engine. Get down under the car and start at the fuel tank. Follow the fuel line forward. You will find the filter. There are a few exceptions, as in a Dodge Neon, which has the filter located in the fuel tank.
AnswerThe fuel filter is located forward of the fuel tank and inside of the frame rail. Get down under the car and start at the fuel tank. Follow the fuel line forward. You will find the filter a round probally black painted can looking contraption with rubber hose clamped to the lines. Be sure to wrap with a rag to catch the fuel under pressure when pulling off the hose. AnswerThe fuel filter is located on the drivers side just in front of the fuel tank. You do not need to replace the whole pump to replace the filter. Be sure to relieve the pressure on the system before removing the filter. You can do this by disconnecting the fuel pump relay and then crank the engine for about 30 seconds. The fuel pump relay is located on the passenger side of the engine compartment next to the battery. To identify the relay just look under the relay cover.I have the same problem. Water pours in under the dash. I had the windshield moulding replaced so I know that isn't the problem. I have the vent thing near the hood, right above the cowl on the outside of the jeep....think the water is coming from there when it rains/gets washed...then comes through the duct work and out onto my feet.
AnswerI have the same problem with my 95 YJ. Has anyone tested the vent in the hood theory and if so has it fixed the problem? AnswerThere is a approx. 1" hose located near the center if the firewall in the engine compartment. This is a drain for the vent/cowl that is located between your hood and windshield. Take a screwdriver and clean out all debris. The end of the tube may be pointed with a slit in the end; this is where the system starts getting backed up. Mine was around 3" full of dirt. Since cleaning, there has been no more annoying wet feet.Additionally there is a rubber gasket in between the top of the dash and the bottom of the window frame, this gasket is to seal the window when it is folded up.. Most folks don't know that the windshield folds down on the newer jeeps.. If you'rs is cracked it may cause the leak also.
What do these diagnostic codes mean on a 2001 Isuzu Rodeo P0304 and P0463?
P0463 is a standard OBDII code for "Fuel Level Sensor Circuit Voltage High" On a Rodeo, this typically means your gas gauge is broken (or in process of breaking) see the following forum for more info http://forum.planetisuzoo.com/viewtopic.php?t=6920&highlight=fuel+sender http://forum.planetisuzoo.com/viewtopic.php?t=579&highlight=bigpoppax2 P0304 is standard OBDII for "Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected" This is likely a separate issue. I believe I had a similar code after replacing the spark plugs. Replacing the new Bosches with Densos fixed the problem. The computer is tuned for Densos and NKGs and frowns upon most others.

How do you replace the manual window regulator on a 1994 SC?
There is a c type clamp on the inside of the hand control where it meets the door. You will have to push in on the doors panel to see it, its usually copper colored. It comes out in one direction, you will need to get a flat head screwdriver and push one of the ends of the clamp (pin as its really like a "c"wire) and id should pop out and you can pull the knob off. Put the pin on the knob (but not all the way into the slot) before installing the knob. then after you slide the knob on use a screwdriver to pust the "c" pin back into place.
have you replaced the dimmer switch? if not that may be the problem. I had the same problem in reverse( brights worked but headlights didn't) water damaged the dimmer switch on the steering column once I replaced it all was good.
The Service Reminder Indicator (SRI) is fitted to all 2000 EuroVans It stores two sets of information: Oil Change and Inspection Service. Here is the method to manually reset the SRI after performing a service: Switch ignition OFF.
Press and hold down the trip odometer reset button (at the lower right of the instrument cluster).
Switch ignition ON and release the trip odometer reset button. It is not necessary to start the engine; merely turn the key until the ignition is ON.
The trip mileage area now displays "Service OIL".
If trip odometer reset button is now pressed again, the display turns to "Service INSP". Pressing the button again will cycle the display back to "Service OIL".
When the reminder that needs to be reset (either OIL or INSP) is displayed, turn button for setting the clock (at lower left of instrument cluster) to the right. The display changes to "Service ----". That reminder is now reset.
The second reminder is unaffected unless it is displayed by pressing trip odometer reset button and the clock button is turned right again.
Switch ignition OFF and back ON to resume normal display.

Why does your steering column rattle while driving on uneven surfaces?
check the bearings inside steering column for wear
Answercheck the bearings inside steering column for wear
Your steering column is supported by 2 or more bolts behind the plastic covering. They are probably loose. Remove the plastic trim to get at these bolts.
Check lower control arm or steering knuckle bolt is loose.
Hello....I don't have the slightest idea. The answer above may be correct. I don't know how I ended up on this persons account when I accidentally answered a question without logging in. Too very strange. I get this user ID with all these weird questions and all these answers that I have never answered.
I tried contacting these people with no luck. There is no contact address.
Maybe you can correct this.

CPS STANDS FOR CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR
I had the exact same problem with my 2000 Jeep GC laredo, for several months. I could never predict when it would happen. Then more frequent problems with "won't start, though engine turns over", then wait a few minutes and it starts. I just resolved it two weeks ago by changing the CPS (Crankcase Position Sensor). I got the tip last month by looking at other sites on the internet. There were several tips to "try replacing the CPS first". I asked my auto mechanic son-in-law about this, and he said he hadn't thought about the CPS, but it made sense as a possibility. This is a fairly cheap fix (about $30 for the sensor) -- it is a small plug-in wire with a sensor at the engine. My son-in-law bought the part at an auto parts store, and replaced it for me with a ratchet wrench with a long extension -- it is held in place with one screw. I have discovered that a failing Crankcase Sensor will cause exactly what you are experiencing. It could be several other things, but I'd suggest trying the CPS first. Hope this helps. Ron in PA
