How many o2 sensor does a 1995 Chevrolet Silverado have?
It has 2 in the exhaust pipe/ pipes. They will be up close to the engine.
How often do you need to change your oxygen sensor on a ford 3.0l v6?
I believe the manuals will say 100,000 miles, but I only change them when they generate an error. If your check engine light is on, a DLC reader (Which you can "borrow" from most part stores) will show what errors or registered, and the O2 sensor is a common one on older cars.

How do you remove front o2 sensor?
Not much info there but in most cases if you are going to replace it with a new one I would unplug the wire harness then cut off the wires at the sensor then you can slip a 7/8" box wrench onto the sensor and break it loose with a counterclockwise motion and remove it.
Where is the stage 1 O2 Sensor on a '98 Pontiac Montana?
the stage 1 sensor, actually called the pre-converter sensor, is located in the exhaust system before the catalytic converter. the post-converter is after the catalytic convertor.
AnswerI have a 2003 Montana but I believe it's the same. Official service manuals describe a procedure whereby you disconnect and rotate the entire engine forward, then remove various bits from the top of the engine in order to reach the stage 1 sensor from above. I gave up on that and was able to do it by jacking up the front of the van (please use wheel blocks and appropriate jackstands!), and reaching up from underneath the van along the exhaust pipe. The stage 1 sensor is screwed into the top side of the exhaust pipe, facing slightly rearward, about 3/4 of the way up. Go get a real O2 sensor socket (has a slot on the side for the wire). I guarantee that sensor will be seized up VERY tight, so use the largest socket wrench you can fit up there to get enough leverage. It was a tight fit, and I had to do most of it by feel, but it IS possible. I'm a big guy, 6 foot and I don't have skinny arms, and I was still able to reach up there. Definately use some anti-seize on the new sensor threads!Make sure that you know which O2 sensor your van needs: the California emissions sensor or the Federal emissions sensor. If you get the wrong one, you won't be able to plug it in (beware of plugging the wrong kind in backwards and thinking that it's done correctly!). Remove the old sensor first and take it with you to the parts store, that way you'll be able to directly match the old plug with the new plug. You can distinguish plugs by looking first at the color of them (Gray was California emissions for me), and then **most importantly** by looking inside the plug itself. There are two differently sized plastic pieces in the plug in the California sensor, and only one in the Federal sensor.
Also, you'll need to buy an O2 sensor socket, and there were two at the auto parts store I went to. Only the short one worked for me. The tall one wouldn't let me get a socket wrench on it without hitting the firewall.
Good luck!!
How do you replace the oxygen sensors on a 2002 forester they both need to be replaced?
the O2 sensors are located under the car on the exhaust system. It looks like a large bolt with a wire coming out of the top. The one before the cat (bank 1 sensor 2) is in a funky place, and you will need to remove the heat shield around the exhaust pipe. This is 5 bolts- 4 take a 12mm wrench and one takes a 10mm wrench (?!)- whatever. Use a bunch of WD40 and let them soak for a little while, because they will be rusted and stuck. You won't be able to completely remove the top of the heat shield, but once it is loose you can get to the O2 sensor. Use a crescent wrench (or appropriate size metric wrench- I think it is a 20 or 21mm wrench), and gently give the O2 sensor a little twist. Now, go back up top and disconnect the cable that leads to it... it is under the right (passenger) side of the air filter housing. Look for the green inner CV joint and that's where the cable is. The connector has a grey plastic piece that flips back a little and releases the sensor half of the connector. Undo the connectors, go back under the car, and finish unscrewing the old sensor. Reverse the procedure to reinstall. I just followed the instructions above on a 2001 Forester and they proved accurate. I would add just a few points. On my Forester there were five 12mm bolts on the heat shield. Also apply WD40 around the old oxygen sensor gasket because the sensor may not break loose easily. After applying the WD40 go off and have a coffee, as I found it took at least 15 minutes to penetrate. Even so, I found I needed one good rap with a lead hammer on an open ended wrench to free the sensor. Significant hint: when disconnecting the cable connector, loop a string around the sensor plug before letting it drop down in order to remove it. You can then use this string to bring the new sensor cable up via the same route as the old one went. Also, definitely put anti-sieze compound on those heat shield bolts before putting them back on!
Where is the oxygen sensor and how do you replace on 2001 S10?
There are three O2 sensors on that vehicle assuming it is a 4.3L engine. They all thread into the exhaust system at various points. Once you have determined which one is at fault, unplug the wire harness to it and then unthread it much like removing a spark plug using a 7/8" wrench.
How do you replace oxygen sensors on 2002 Ford Escape?
There is a special socket that you can get at most auto parts stores with an open side to get around the wiring. There is one sensor in the tailpipe before the catalytic coverter and one after. Use the socket to unscrew the sensors, and unplug the wires at the connector.
I'm gonna say no. PO300 (random missfire) would probaby be caused by ignition, fuel or mechanical failure.
Remove the negative battery cable for 30 seconds. This works on pre '96 cars.
Where is the O2 Sensor located on a 1998 Honda Civic Sedan?
There are two sensors, one before, and one after the catalytic converter. There are wires coming out, so they are hard to miss. The catalytic converter is connected to the exhaust manifold, which is connected directly to the engine. You can see it looking down at the open hood, towards the front of the car, attached to the engine. The top sensor sticks stright out of the exhaust manifold, the second sensor is down a little lower and to the left if you are facing the car from the front. Note: The exhaust manifold has a metal heat shield over it. You can remove the two bolts (12mm) holding the heat shield to inspect the exhaust manifold. It is VERY COMMON for some models to develop hairline cracks in the exhaust manifold right around the oxygen sensor (you might have to brush away rust to see the cracks). This could result in the check engine light going on indicating bad cat (even though there may not be anything wrong with your cat OR your sensors!). If you see cracks, either repair them or replace the manifold (unfortunately you typically cannot buy just the manifold, you have to buy a new cat with manifold - but you can sometimes find used manifolds or aftermarket cat+manifold for cheap). Some have used heat resistant expoxy to repair the cracks (welding is better though). If you use epoxy, look for a brand specifically made for exhaust systems. "JB Weld" epoxy from your hardware store may work for a couple weeks but is not a good solution.

Where is the bank 1 sensor 2 on a 1996 GMC sonoma 2.2l?
That would be the O2 sensor located after the catalytic converter.
How much will it cost to fix a oxygen sensor on a 2003 Hyundai santa fe?
Sensor replacement is fairly easy. Just unscrews from manifold or pipe whichever one it is, and replace with new one. Not knowing the vehicle engine and emission specs, I found several brands and options on the car and would say $50-$80 for the sensor and 30 minutes or less to change it. Fixing them is not an option replacing is the only fix.
Note on a v-6 there are 2-4 of these on the car so you need to know which one is the problem. Codescan should help identify the culprit
Is there more than one O2 sensor on a 1997 Dodge Dakota L4?
There are two sensors... an "upstream" (before the catalytic converter) and a "downstream" (after the cat). They are as easy to change as a spark plug. Don't pay to have it done if you are capable of changing a spark plug. You'll need a special socket that has a slot in it to accommodate the wires. Autozone loans these out for free (you just have to leave a deposit). YES THERE ARE MORE THAN ONE
