Whats the loudest exhaust for a 3.8L v6?

doesn't really matter what brand as long as you do the full system, quality is what counts. headers, high flow cat, 2.75" or 3" catback will make it damn loud. I've got headers, high flow cat, and flowmaster muffler on my firebird and it's pretty loud

How do you change a radio in a 1999 firebird?

If you have the stock radio, check your owners manual first to be sure you don't have a special code you enter on the radio. Then unhook the battery terminals. Otherwise, you could set off your airbags. Using a flat blade screw driver, (You may have to put the car in neutral to be able to work on it) carefully pry the radio covering off. There should be 4 metric screws holding the radio in place. Take them out. Pull radio gently and far enough out so that you can take the antenna cable and unplug the wiring harness. You'll need to purchase a new wiring harness that is made specifically for your make, year and model of your car and solder it to your new stereo be sure after soldering you use electrical tape and wrap each set of wires you soldered. Otherwise, thay will touch and boom. Then plug in antenna. reverse steps.

Left turn signal doesn't work on a 2002 Pontiac firebird?

I have the same car,and have had this problem on both left and right signals. first thing to check is for a blown bulb, next check turn signal flasher if still does not work you need to remove the front turn signal bulb and check the conector where the bulb plugs in. this is probably rusted in the metal contacts. all you have to do is clean it up and make sure that the two spring like contacts are not stuck down cause this is what is shorting the bulb . just release the contacts and make sure they make contact with the bulb, replace and your set.

Where can you find a wiring diagram for a 1990 Pontiac Firebird?

CAN YOU Put a series III 3800 in a 1997 firebird?

you could but you would have swap the throttle body from a series 2 as the series 3 uses a sensor vs using a throttle cable. also the upper and lower intake and heads are different because the fwd have the injectors in the heads where the rwds have them in the lower intake but these too can be swapped. i dont think you can use the supercharged version because of clearancing issues and the naturally aspirated ones are rated from 197 hp to 210hp so it would be lot of work for nothing if you just need a new motor and cant find a rwd 3800 get the fwd series 2 and just swap the heads, and upper and lower intake

How do you adjust window on 1968 mustang?

After removing the arm rest, door handle, and window crank carefully remove the trim panel.

You will see that the window glass is moved up and down by the regulator that is operated by the window crank. The glass runs up and down in two channels, one in the forward and one at the rear. There are at least three adjustment that can be made by loosening the adjustment screws. The adjustments are made using an Allen key after loosening the outer retaining nut. The adjustments allow you to move the channels fore and aft as well as sidways. Most "how to fix your '68 Mustnag" manuals show these adjustments. Good Luck.

Someone tried to stesl your 1989 firebird and broke the steering column how do you repair this without taking it apart or do you have to?

If the steering column is broken on a 1989 Firebird, it may have to be taken apart to be repaired. If it is only the ignition that the thieves damaged, a new ignition can be installed.

Where is the crank positioning sensor on a 1998 Firebird?

the crankshaft position sensor is located on the under harmonic balance wheel. loosen the drive belt, with a harmonic puller remove the wheel careful not to bend or injure it in any way). Unplug the sensor located on the lower left side. remove and replace sensor. Be careful not to pull on the connector or wires. Inspect them for damage. Reverse the above step to replace. A word of advise: Be sure to have the sensor "CASE/RELEARNED". The new sensor must be told what its job is. I replaced two sensors and wire before find out about CASE/RELEARN. Once that's done what a difference. Finally! Good luck.

How do you replace the front turn signal bulb in a 2001 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am?

on the underside of the car, just in front of the tires, there is a little hatch-like thing that you open downwards and then you will have access to the back-side of the lights...its hard to reach them in some cases but after toying around with them they will pull out of the light assembly

The access panel on the bottom of the car is help in place with 2 bolts. Remove them and pull the panel down and out of the way. Reach your hand up inside and find the wire harness. Follow it to the socket back. There's a locking mechanism on the socket back. Squeeze it and rotate the socket while gently pulling down. When the socket is free it will come down. Pull the bulb out (part number 3157). When replacing the bulb use plenty of dielectric grease. These sockets (for some stupid reason) install perpendicular to the ground instead of parallel making them nice water entrapment areas. Also check the lens cover for cracks, replace if cracked. Seal the seat of the socket where it contacts the light bodies housing with RTV or dielectric grease. Remove the lens cover and put a bead of RTV or dielectric grease on it's mating surface and reinstall. I used to go through bulbs every couple of months and haven't had a problem since doing this.

What are the insurance rates for a 16-year-old driving a Pontiac Firebird?

I am not sure of the exact rates. Since it's a 16 year old, they are considered higher risk drivers and with a sports car, the rates are sure to be a bit higher, for age and type of car.

Your 95 Firebird 3.4 V6 won't start Will not take a jump and battery is less than a year old Is the problem the relay box?

The age of the battery sometimes makes no difference have it checked, you either have a severely bad battery or your connections or fuseable links are bad. Check and clean all connections from the battery all the way to their termination point, look at the wire as well since corrosion will lessen the voltage carrying ability of the wire. Many times there is corrosion all over the positive cable connection and if left unchecked it will start migrating through the cable. Then be sure that you have really good ground connections, battery to engine and engine to frame or battery to frame ( there should be 2 ) tight and in good condition. Lastly check where the positive cable connects to the starter they get loose or greasy sometimes and the fuseable links ( sometimes in the wires but mostly in the engine compartment fuse panel ).
