Do Mpg caps work?

No, of course not. There is no capsule or tablet that you can put in your gas tank that will improve your mileage. These things are just a scam and may harm your vehicle. Be sensible and don't waste your money.

How do you change coolant in rover 200?

I own a rover 25 1.4 (K-series) and i carried out a coolant/antifreeze (same thing) flush today. Here's what you need:

1. De-ionised water - a fewliters.

2. OAT coolant - usually the red one- a few liters (Concentrate)

3. A hose pipe.

4. 2 Jubilee clips.

Here's how you do it:

1. Undothe hose clip at the bottom of the radiator and allow the coolant to drain out.

2. Undo the top radiator hose that connects the radiator to the engine block.

3. Now open the coolant tank and fill (the water should start pouring out of the bottom hose). Keep the water flowing (low pressure only) until the water coming out of the bottom hose is clear.

4. Now put the water into the top radiator pipe and wait until the water coming out of the bottom is clear.

5. Re-attach the two hoses to theradiatorusing your jubilee clips, and secure firmly.

6. Next undo the bleed screw located behind the airbox on a rubber hose.

7. How begin filling the coolant tank slowly with de-ionised water until water starts coming out of the bleed screw hole (this ensures that there is no air in the system)

8. Re-screw the bleed screw back in whilst water is trickling out, and tighten.

9. Now pour 2 liters of de-ironed water into the tank, followed byconcentrateantifreeze until the level in the tank is at the max.

10. Now run the engine until it is at operating temperature whilst compressing the radiatorpipes with your hand to flush coolant through the system and back out into the tank, (this makes sure that the entire system is bled).

11. Now put the lid on the tank and wait for the engine to completely cool again. When its cold, open the coolant tank lid and top up the level with antifreeze if necessary.

12. Keep an eye on the tempgaugeover the next week and keep checking the level of antifreeze just encase you have a leak.

I hope this has helped.

What causes the top radiator hoes to be so hot?

engines create friction and that makes your coolant hot , the thermostat controlls the coolant temp , in the 195 deg, range . that is why its hot .

What is pH of ethylene glycol?

Where is the radiator drain plug on a 2000 Buick Regal?

Try either the bottom or rear of the radiator--perhaps hidden by lower hose

Why doesnt your radiator fan turn in your 1988 crx?

Some fans are made to only turn on when the temp reaches a certain point. Have you run your engine up to temp and let it idle and see if the fan kicks on after a certain time? Keep your hands clear. Has your engine been running hot or did you jsut look in and NOT see your fan turning? If your engine is running hot AND your fan is NOT coming on then the temp sensor for the fan may be bad.

Where is the Radiator drain plug on 2000 Toyota Camry?

Why would coolant be leaking as soon as I add it?

I currently have this problem with my Grand Am. I was told that it was the intake manifold gasket a kind of costly repair if you can't do it yourself. A lot of GM vehicles have this problem because they use the coolant DEX-COOL which wear away at the manifold over time. Doing my own research I found out that most manifolds on cars who use this type ofcoolant should get their manifold changed at about 60,000 miles. Some wear down before then. I believe that GM has made a better manifold to which it wouldn't wear as fast but I know many repair shops I have spoken with recommend that I get my coolant system flushed to have it use another type of antifreeze.

How do you bleed air out of the heater system On a 98 Pontiac Grand Prix 3.1 S.E.?

Assuming you haven't got the tool to do it the easy way here's the hard way:

Park on level ground or slightly uphill.

Wait for engine to cool.

Locate the (one or two) two bleeder valve(s). Expect to find on thermostat housing and/or on pipe at top of water pump.

Open the one or two bleeders, as applicable. Note that if bleeder broken off pipe, you can disconnect the hose above it instead. If bleeder at thermostat housing broken off... oops?

Fill the radiator as much as possible. Expect bubbles to come out of the bleeders slowly and then you should be able to add a little more coolant.

Close the bleeders, then start the engine. Allow it to idle 5 to 10 minutes with the heat on. 5 minutes in hot weather, 10 in cold. Then, stop the engine.

Open one bleeder until a steady (not just spurting or bubbling) stream of coolant flows.

Close that bleeder then repeat with the other one.

Start the engine and run it at about 1500 to 1800 RPM for 1 minute.

Now, wait a minimum of 60 minutes in cold weather, 90 minutes in hot weather and repeat the whole process.

How much should it cost to repair a radiator leak in a 93 Chevy blazer?

Might want to go to your local auto parts store and buy some radiator stop leak and follow the instructions, it's only about $7.50 an should fix it depending on where your leak is in your radiator. If that doesn't fix it you will need a new radiator. My blazer is in the shop right now and it's gonna cost me $450 for labor and parts. Best of luck!

Where is the radiator drain plug on a 1990 Chevy Suburban?

Most drain plugs are on the bottom of the radiator they are called (pee-cocks). Some look like a wing-nut and sometime they look like bolts. It would be best if you look near the bottom on the radiator on either sides of the radiator for the drain plugs. I

How do you open the radiator drain plug on a 2002 Grand Caravan?

I have a 2003 and was looking for it on mine and I think I found it. As you face the vehicle, look down to your right at the lower part of the radiator right above the two cables that go under the bottom of the radiator. It looks flat and it's horizontal. I'm assuming it turns to the vehicles left, but I haven't tried to turn it.

How do you bleed air from the cooling system on a 1999 Lincoln Continental?

There is a metal pipe near the coolant reservoir with a round threaded plug in it. You fill the system with 50/50 coolant/water through here.

1. With the plug in place, first fill the plastic reservoir about halfway with coolant blend.

2. Cap this reservoir, open the threaded plug in the metal pipe with a 1/4" square drive (1/4" drive socket set). Fill the system here.

3. Replace the plug, tighten and run the engine with the heater on until it reaches operating temperature.

4. Let the rengine cool, open the plug and fill again. Repeat steps 3-4 until it the pipe is full when you open it cold. The system should now be properly bled.
