I am a metalworker, I spend all day every day making things out of mild steel, and I can tell you it is used EVERYWHERE! The brackets that hold up a shelf are made from mild steel. The chassis and body panels of most cars are mild steel. There is literally millions of uses for it. It can be cut, drilled, machined, threaded or tapped, rolled, formed, bent, welded, forged in a mould, folded (to form a weapon or tool), pressed, stamped, spun into wire or cable, magnetised... the list goes on. Two ways. Either remove the bolts holding the bumper to the brackets, or remove the bolts holding the brackets to the frame and remove them with the bumper. Make sure you unplug the turn signal lights as well. It's pretty simple and straight forward.

The answer would depend on which model Solara and even whether it has a sport body kit installed at the factory. In any case trying to describe the location of each and every bolt would be far too complicated for this kind of format. Each piece is bolted to another piece and in some cases bolts should be removed in a certain order What order and what bolts will, again, depend on which model Solara you have. I'd strongly suggest you purchase or download the factory service manual or at least the portion showing how bodywork is attached to the vehicle you intend to work on. Cheers

If there is not a screw on the outside, you can reach it 1 on 2 ways, normally you can peer under the bumper and see the socket and twist it out. Or you have to unscrew the inner fender and pull the bumper slightly out to reach in.

bumper is connected to fenders by several bolts that you can see if you open the hood and look toward the area where the nose and fender join.
