Where is the fuel pressure regulator located on a 1994 Toyota Camry?
This would be near the gas tank. It is meant to regulate how much pressure is being put on the fuel in order to keep everything safe.
BMW 735i cranks but won't start no spark?
You need to find out if you have injector pulase. if you dont have injector pulase and spark check crank sensor
Where are all the fuses located for an infiniti i30 96?
Underneath the steering closer to the driver side there are some fuses and in the motor they are also some
More the Fuse cover will have the maps and type and uses and voltage u shouldn't have any problem locating the problem fuse if u have any
Why would a car not start after being parked uphill?
That's a good one. I would try parking on a level surface. hook up a fuel pressure gauge and a noid light to check for spark. then jack the rear end up to the similar angle you park it on and have the problem. Then crank (turn over means the same) the engine and see what happens. If it doesn't start you will be able to tell if it is spark or fuel that is missing, and trouble shoot from there. I do empathize with the mechanic's feeling regarding the aftermarket warranty company. I truly hate dealing with most of them as they don't want to cover many things that are part of a job, including time to find what is wrong, they want to dictate what they will pay. Getting paid from them is usually a pain, too. I only care to deal with a company called heritage warranty.
2000 Jeep Cherokee gas and battery gages not working car does not start?
My 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee was doing the exact same thing. The dealership told me the crank sensor had shorted out and caused all of the problems. They replaced it and I am back in business!!! I agree, mine was giving "NO BUS" error on the odometer and the CPS (Crank Position Sensor) was the culprit. Located on the rear of the top lip of the transmission, above the opening for the flywheel. I replaced mine myself, HUGE PAIN....so, I'd recommend having it done...
How can you tell if your battery or alternator is the reason your car will not start?
If you don't have fuel injection, pull the hot (red) post off your battery. If the car goes dead the alternator is not charging the battery.
AnswerIf you have a local parts store they will test it on the car, most for free.check the spark plugs and wires, if they are faulty then it will cause your alt. not to charge, i had the same problem, i bought a new battery, got the alternator tested and it still would be dead, after i changed the spark plugs the problem disappeared(AND IT THE CHEAPEST) i did all of this in -40c weather
Suspect one of the reasons this nemesis is still part of VW's software is just part of the manufacture's promise to keep there dealers multi millionaires at cost of the worker bees…..
This is my 5th VW but sad to say, I will probably be forced to go Japanese next purchase (sad to say US mfr. do not make a car in the diesel category like the TDI Jet - nor do the Japanese yet).
IMHO: As an old VW owners, in the past decades I seem to have noticed that VW made most changes only to improve the vehicle. Seems this is not the major reason VW make engineering changes any long, hope I am wrong…….
Im a new member and an 02 Jetta owner. I recently had an experience that you need to know about concerning the electronic immobilizer. This fault light came on in my car after the battery almost went dead. My car would start but immediately quit running. I thought I had a fuel starvation problem. It took me forever to find the solution. I recharged my battery. This didn't help. I jumped the Jetta with another car. This didn't help. Then I noticed the fault light shaped like a car with a key symbol stayed on even after all the other fault lights went off. Since the car was running it was difficult to comprehend this light was the crux of the problem. Actually, i was right on my diagnosis. The car did have fuel starvation but it was due to the electronic immobilizer. I thought I had a key fab that would need to be recoded. I called a locksmith who had experience with these Jettas. Here is the issue and the fix. If your battery goes below 6.5 volts (your dash lights and door locks go crazy while starting the car) the electronic immobilizer is enabled. Your car will start but instantly stall because the fuel is being shut off to the car by the immobilizer. The fix is easy, connect a battery charger to your car (even if you just recharged your car battery) to maintain a continuous 12 volts on the system (I pulled the fuses for the daytime running lights to help). Leave the ignition switch in the on position for ten minutes. The immobilizer light should go off after ten minutes. If it does, the immobilizer has been reset and the car will start. You must turn the ignition off then start the car normally. If the immobilizer light doesn't stop flashing, leave your car on for one hour and repeat. If necessary, you may need to do this for two hours. If it still doesnt work, call a lock smith and ask if he has a VAG tool for Jettas. He can reset the fault with the VAG tools at a fraction of the expense of the dealer. You dont need to recode the key. This guy told me the keys almost never need recoding. its almost always the immobilizer that needs resetting. Also, if you know the SKC code, and you can get hold of a VAG COM tool, you can recode keys for 2002's and older Jetta. This locksmith even has another tool to get the SKC code from the instrument cluster if you cant find your cars code. Call some locksmiths! They have work arounds.
Note: once the light goes off, Turn the ignition off first before trying to start the car.
I found this part on the other Awsome post:

Where can you find a diagram for the location of the coolant sensor for a 1986 300ZX?
The 300ZX Shop Manual has one page visual for all the components, the sensor located on the drivers side just to the right side of the Distributor. Its screwed into the block near the top of the block and has two fine wires coming out of the sensor.
The starter solenoid near the battery should be checked.
How do you restart a vehicle if the security system is tripped in a 1995 Ford Escort?
If it's factory set, you'd have to call a local dealer and ask for specs on resetting it. If it's something you added on, disconnect it and double check all your fuses and connections leading to the fuse box.
Easy Fix (Kinda). -- The part cost about $20.00 but the labor at a Garage will be over $100.00.
1. Purchase a Crankshaft sensor (approx. $20.00)
2. Now the hard part !
The Crankshaft Sensor is located at the back of the motor by the firewall.
The Sensor is down-low on the engine block in the mid section of the engine block.
3. Installation: -- Take bolts out of engine mounts on top of motor by the radiator area. Now rock your car so the engine will tilt to give you as much clearence as possible at the firewall. Wedge a wooden block between the firewall and engine so the engine won't rock back and possibly pinch your hand.
4. Now take off the 'whole' alternator assembly bracket, in other words when you take the bracket off the alternator will still be mounted on the bracket.
5. Now your ready to start replacing the sensor itself, and I might add that this is going to be tricky and patience will be needed on your part.
6. Now take your 'new part' out of the box and examine it really well so you'll know what to feel for, also get a nice fit metric wrench and test it on the new bolt, why? -- because a lot of people strip the 10cent bolt and can't get the sensor out without pulling the motor. (Big Problem) --- Be extremely gentle turning the existing bolt in the motor, and when you put the new bolt in the engine block be sure not to tighten so hard that you snap off the bolt, .. again, Big Problem if you do.
7. Now you are ready to replace the sensor by "Feel Only".
8. Now take your left arm and stretch it out to find the sensor on the engine. Remember that the sensor is in the lower mid section.
9. Once you find the sensor unplug the wire from the sensor. --- You might want to take a break and re-examine the brand new sensor since you are doing everything by "Feel Only". --- The new sensor should be pushed down until you feel a good fit. -- Make sure the Oring is on the new sensor or oil will leak out of your motor.
Once you install the sensor then go back and put you alternator bracket back on and put your bolts in you engine mounts.
That's It !!
Engine turns over but car wont start when cold when warn car starts 1996 Kia Sephia 1.8 automatic?
If your car works fine when its not cold and only wont start when its cold outside then its a bad solenoid and most likely the one that regulates voltage to your starter. This solenoid can not be replaced with out replacing the starter because they are combined. Unless you have a aftermarket starter that will let replace the solenoid without replacing the starter. So all you have to do is take it to a shop and have a new starter put in and your prob should be fixed.
i work in a steel mill as a mechanic for the vehicles, so i run into an identical problem all of the time. you should first try to replace the in-line fuel filter and see if it clears your problem up. if it doesn't work its most likely the "sock" filter on your in-tank fuel pump. while replacing this filte make sure to clean ALL debris out of the tank.
when i first ran into this problem it took me forever to figure it out. what is actually happening is that the long the vehicle runs the more trash and debris that gets stuck on the filter, and eventually clogs it up. which is generally after the motor gets heated up. if you shut it off for awhile and let it sit, all the dirt will eventually settle and fall off the filter.
this isn't the guaranteed problem but its got a real chance at being it. ohh, another thing i noticed (which may help you to determine if this is the problem) is that it progressively got worse. it seemed like 10 minutes or so after i started the motor that it would slowly start to lose power, not all at once.
hope the info helped
Why would the ignition starter fuse in a 2002 grand am blow when you start the car?
what size fuse is it it would need to be a 30 amp fuse for the starter solenoid after that your starter solenoid could be shorting if you take the wire that comes from the key off the starter (normally the small wire on its own going onto the solenoid on top of the starter)then turn the key same as if you were starting the engine if the fuse doesn't blow then you need a new solenoid for the starter or a new starter if the price is right
if the fuse does blow with the wire off the solenoid then you have a short in the wiring loom check the loom for break or cracks there is a good chance the wire is after wearing against the engine somewhere if this is the case tape it over and tie it back from the engine
When you turn your ignition switch you hear a whining noise and engine does not turn over?
Starter solenoid is defective. You will have to remove the starter and have it tested at an auto parts store.
Why would a car only ignite but not start?
Because your batery does not have much energy to make the car roar to life.
How do you repair the crank signal so that the engine will continue to run?
replace cam position sensor
if you have smoke coming from your battery then the cause sounds like a dead short the possble pop you heard would be one of the major fuses, not the tiny ones. you may have a cable rubbed through,or other major wiring fault
A 92 Dodge colt started ran died now it wont start and i have no spark why do i have no spark?
If you are getting power to your coil and you still have no spark at the spark plug, you have a bad coil. Beyond that you will have to chase the electrical system. could be a fusible link.
Does 1999 Lincoln town car use a distributor cap?
No , it has the Coil On Plug ( C. O. P. ) ignition system
Reconnect your horn and turn your key to unlock the door this will disable your alarm.
Check the engine for proper cylinder compression. If the pressure is low then a blown head gasket could be leaking and causing the problem.
Is it bad to start a car that's been sitting for months in the cold?
Yes , Because it might get damged .
When the ignition wont turn over like its out of gas is that the fuel pump?
Since most modern automotive engines are EFI, I'll assume you're asking about one of them.
EFI engines require that fuel be delivered to the injectors at a specific pressure. That pressure is determined by the engineers who designed the engine and EFI controls.
Low or no pressure to the injectors can certainly act like the vehicle is out of fuel, but it may just be a delivery problem.
The computer turns the fuel pump on when you try to start the engine. If the engine doesn't start or if the computer does not receive a signal that the engine started (even thought the engine may have started briefly), the computer will turn off the fuel pump within a few seconds.
There are several reasons why an injected engine may not be receiving fuel:
* The computer does not turn on the fuel pump (possibly a sensor or the computer... probably NOT the computer though, but it's possible) * The fuel pump is working but fuel is not getting through (possibly plugged fuel filter or fouled injectors) * The computer is trying to turn on the fuel pump but the fuel pump doesn't pump anything (possibly a failed fuel pump, failed relay, blown fuse which usually is the result of a failed fuel pump or faulty wiring or just plain out of fuel) This is where it becomes valuable to possess some basic diagnostic skills.
