Brevet (cycling) In the sport of randonneuring, a brevet or randonnée is an organised long-distance bicycle ride. Cyclists - who, in this discipline, may be referred to as randonneurs - follow a designated but unmarked route (usually 200km to 600km), passing through check-point controls, and must complete the course within specified time limits. In some states if you refuse to sign they will arrest you. If other states if you do not sign it makes no difference. Signing the citation is just signifying you got it, and is not an admission of guilt. Sign the citation and then argue the case in traffic court.
