If all the windows quit working you need to look for a blown fuse in the fusebox.

the gears in the power motor may be worn out. If you can hear the motor engage in the window unit but the window will not move up or down then problem is with the gears in the power window motor unit. Most want you to buy a whole new motor but you may go to www.ebay.com and bid on a gear kit for your power window motor (costs a whole lot less) Hope this helps Lis@

What I have done in the past is open the door, place one hand on the outside of the glass then take the other hand and place it on the inside of the glass and attempt to push it back to the top, if the window is all the way down then the door panel has to be removed. once you get the window up it will stay up.

I am having the same problem my drivers side window will not go up but it will go down. Ford pulled a fast one and made it so all of the switches on the drivers need to be replaced together. There is a black box containing all of the window switches as well as the window lock. This whole piece needs to be replaced. To get this part the top piece of the armrest needs to be pried off with a scewdriver in the gap between the lower armrest panel. Once that is off disconnect the harnesses below. The black box need sto be replaced.

you should be able to take the cover off the driver's door by unscrewing it,then unplug the window switch and replace it,fairly easy..

IF YOU HEAR THE MOTOR SPINNING AND THE GLASS IS NOT GOING UP,YOU PROBABLY NEED TO REPLACED THE DRIVE GEAR. THE DRIVE GEAR IS LOCATED INSIDE THE MOTOR.

most cars come with the fuse box on the drivers side of the car next to your left leg ....and under the hood .....or even sometimes depending on the car ...in the glove box

If your drivers side window operates properly it is not a fuse problem. Both windows work off of the same fuse. You most likely have a window motor or regulator problem. I would start by pulling off the door panel and rehook up the switch and see if you have any movement. If not check for power. If you have power it is the motor!

On my 2003 I believe it is under the drivers side dash, right near the break padel. It has a plastic cover over it covering the metal cased breaker.

you will need to remove the door panel and check the motor on the regulator. if the gears are bad you can usually just change them. (auto parts stores usually have them). if the gears are good you need a new motor.

Its under your dash to the left of your hood latch to open up your hood. There is a black cover on it that you'll need to remove. On the cover is a diagram of all the fuses underneath. The driver window relay will be shown as the very top left fuse. it is in the driverside door it is a little brown relay with a screw whole on each end I had the same exact problem, I just loosened the three mounting bolts on the window motor and it went right up. re snugged bolts,greased the track and any other moving parts I could get to. works like new.

That happened to my 92 Miata, both sides. Turns out not to be a big problem. First you have to remove the window winder, a clip ring remover, or clever use of a thin screwdriver can pop it off. Remove the door grip screws, door latch screws. (philips) remove the speaker cover, (4 or 5 pop out connectors) and lift off the inside door cover (several pop out connectors). lift the door cover up when removing. Use a razor blade to slice the vapor/water barrier thick mil plastic from the door. A cable (like a bicycle cable), that operates the window in window guides has a tendency to get caught under the white plastic window 'rollers'. I used two small zapstraps to pull the cable toward the door, just enough to stay out of the way of the round white plastic window guide when the window descends. You don't want to kink the cable. I would suggest you lubricate the cable end as well. Watch out for the sharp edges of metal on the inside of the door, some are razor sharp, and it can be hard to reach in to find a place to locate the cable ties. The second time I did this job, I drilled my own holes to accomodate the cable ties (also called zap straps) to get the best place to secure the cable, again, without changing the cable path more than necessary. Everyone should have a manual for their vehicle, and a professional shop manual should be available at your local library for diagnostic procedures etc, just make copies of the right pages, as they are usually REFERENCE only...read up and good luck :)

Run a wire from the POSITIVE terminal on the battery and touch the red wire (positive) to the window motor and run another wire from the NEGATIVE terminal on the battery and touch the green wire (negative) to the window motor. The window should go down. Reverse the wires to make the window go up.
