How do you change the left front window regulator on a 1998 Mercury Grand Marquis?
you have to take off the interior door panel, be very careful because there should be a couple of hidden screws on either side of the handle used to pull door shut - there is also usually a hidden screw behind the door handle panel (used to open door) and then one more hidden screw all the way at the bottom of the panel. Once all screws are out carefully pop off the panel. Then all you have to do is find the wires running to the regulator and while holding the clip open (usually grey) pull apart then take out the regulator and plug in the new one. Pop the panel back on and then replace all of the screws.

How do you repair a power sunroof that leaks on a 1988 Olds Cutlass before you seal it up?
Sunroofs are very hard to get sealed and I leave it to an auto trim shop to do. They do it every day and know the tricks. Good luck.
You are building up air pressure in the rear compartment and when it gets too high it puffs out the front windows momentarily interrupting and reversing the air flow through the windows. Crack the rear ones slightly to allow the air to escape and it will stop. It has to do with the aerodynamics of the vehicle, on yours air is directed into the windows very efficiently but with little relief so it builds up and breaks through the flow. You can also remedy this with the front window air deflectors that you can buy at the auto parts stores.
Try checking the fuses.
Does the main power line for the windows lead into the fuse box from the stereo on a '95 Z28?
I have a 1996 Z28 SS. My radio turn on and off. when it's off there is no power to the radio fuse or power window circuit breaker. I would say that it does ???
I had the exact same problem on my 97 Z28.
The problem is the "body control module". This module turns your radio on and off and provides power to your windows. These modules develope a bad solder spot on the circuit board that is a very common problem.
The module is on the passenger side, up under the dash. Remove the cover that is under the dash and you will see a small box to the right with 2 plugs going into it. This is the module. You will need to unplug the 2 plugs(sometimes difficult, because there are tabs to push first) and pull the module out. Then the plastic box will open up and you will see a circuit board.
On the top side you will see some relays(for windows/radio/etc). The bad solder spot is on the bottom side of the circuit board, in the area where the relays are soldered. You will probably need a magnifying glass to find the bad spot. Look for a solder that has a crack or a dull look to it(mine had a crack).
If you know how to use a soldering gun, just heat up the spot to melt the old solder and apply some new solder(electronic type only) to it.
If you dont know how, have a friend do it for you.
Then re-install the box and that will fix your problem!
How do you change the window motor?
WINDOW MOTOR REPLACMENT.
One quick point first. If you are having problems with rolling up the drivers side window, (or down) it is most likey the window switch in the center console. These go bad all the time.
First you have to remove the inner door panel. Which is done by removing the outer cover on the inner door handle, where you will find a couple screws behind it. Use a plastic wedge if you have one. Next you need to pop off the "SRS" cover on the side airbag. There is also a screw behind this cover. Then all you do is pop the door panel off the door. There are numerous plastic clips that hold it to the door.
Once the door panel is off, the motor should be accesable. You will want to have the window all the way up, and use some masking tape to run over the window, from side to side, to hold the window up/from falling. Once you take the window motor out the window will want to fall down.
There should just be about 3 torx screws, remove the screws and pop the motor out of the regulator. Intall in reverse order.
ALSO CHECK THE LOOM BETWEEN THE CAR DOOR AS THEY HAVE A TENDENCY TO BREAK SO PULL BACK THE RUBBER AND CHECK THOROUGHLY.
Can you manually roll up a power window?
no. this window is locked on a track and connected to cables or gears. If you take everything apart and shim up the window only and still it does not come open easily.
Most likely a failure of the Drivers rear switch in the "UP" position although I have seen exceptions. The vehicles schematic is really required to do a methodical trace of the open circuit in question.
How do you fix the power windows on a 1999 gmc sierra?
Check the fuse first; if it's ok you got bigger problems. You don't say if 1.2 or 4 windows don't work, so if it's more than the fuse go to a auto glass shop; they will probably charge less than the dealer. Go buy a Haynes Auto Repair manual for your car.
How do you repair a stuck driver-side power window?
My 94 Tempo's Driver window died, there are two main likelinesses. I believe telling the difference is as follows. If your window moves "somewhat freely" using your hands but the motor sound still goes, it is off the track and you need to take the door apart. If the motor is silent it is likely dead (that in combo with it still being on track ) and you need to take apart the door...to replace a motor.
How do you fix power windows on a 1995 Ford Mustang?
First thing to check is the reseting breaker relay in the fusebox. Then check the window motor and regulator system. Hayes manual covers this part pretty well. Kinda need to be more specific as to what the problem is.
Where is the power window relay for a 1994 Q45 infinity?
idk about a relay i think there is a fuse and a BCM(body controle module) witch pretty much makes the windows work the rear ones are in the door panel about the middle of the door its a little black box about 1.5"x2.5"x4" or 5" im not sure if the front doors have them. If your window is making like a clicking whining noise and not rolling down,up, or but really slow this is most likely what needs to be changed

Where and what number is the fuse for the power windows on a 2002 Ford Explorer?

Ford crown Victoria window won't go down?
try playing with the switch, and take it apart and clean it, they are famous for getting dirty, if that doesnt work, youll have to take the door panel apart and see if you're getting power to the motor when the button is pushed.
Remove the handle, it may just be the handle itself. There is a horse shoe shaped clip on the back of the handle. The top of the loop should be pointing away from the grip knob. There is a tool made to remove this clip or you can fashion a hook from a stiff piece of wire or a nail and hook the clip and pull it off. Be careful not to loose it.
You should be able to see if the splines on the handle or the window regulator are striped. The handle is easy. The regulator is a little more involved.
If you can pull up on the window while turning the crank and the window still will not move then it is probably just the handle.
the transfer case control module
