Why does my Porsche keep blowing a fuse?
Blown fuses generally indicate a short in the wiring. Sometimes the component that the wire is going to is shorting out. If the specs call for a certain rating of fuse, say 15 amps and you put in a smaller capacity fuse, like 5 amps it will keep blowing because you have the wrong fuse installed.
Why does the driver window sometimes stay up when the top is opened?
The drivers window range needs to be reset. This is easily done, using a faq from the S2000 forums available online.
How do you fix a power window on the front passenger side of a 2000 Daewoo Nubira wagon?
First, you have to remove the door's interior panel. This is achieved by removing the plastic screws on the sides of the door and the metal screw inside the small tray on the instrument panel. Mostly everything is clipped in, so the best way to continue, is to use a small flat head screwdriver to pry the panel, door handle shroud, and instrument panel away from the door. You must then carefully disconnect all cables and wires attached to the panel. There should be a plastic film covering all the access holes in the door, but if not, just continue to remove the necessary pieces to see inside the door. Take a close look (preferably with a flashlight) at the interior of the door. You should see your window motor, window track, and window regulator. If the issue is your regulator (the pully assembly: looks like a small winch), then the problem should be apparent, because when these parts fail, the cable is usually twisted, frayed, or tangled in itself. The only way to fix the regulator is to replace it. To replace the regulator, remove the four small nuts attaching its track to the door. Then remove the two Phillips head screws attaching the plastic sled to the glass window. Just jimmy the thing out from there. Any of the other problems are relatively easy to diagnose. If it it the motor, replace it. This is achieved by removing the three screws from it that anchor it to the regulator. The other possibility is that the window may be off track. Simply reposition the window's sled back into the track to fix (if possible). The final possibility is that of the switch. Always check and clean the switch first! Cleaning the switch may resolve the issue, but if not, simply replace. I hope this answer has solved your problem! If not, I hope it has at least provided you with a starting point for further diagnosis!
Check to see if you are getting power to the motor - if so bad motor If not may be an open wire in the door jamb area

Why your electric windows and stereo and electric mirrors wont work in your corsa?

Why won't the window roll up ford contour?
Dear User, There are a few reasons why the ford contours' electric windows won't roll up. These could be: 1. The window crank is jammed by dust, this can be fixed using an old rag or cloth and giving it a wipe. DO NOT wet the electric motor or electrics. 2. If the car has got SRS windows. The safety System Could have malfunctioned. I would suggest you don't try and fix this yourself unless you have electrical and mechanics knowledge. 3. Most of all there is one final reason the windows could be smashed.
How do you take a power window regulator and motor out of the door panel of a 1995 GMC Vandura 2500?
Okay, I just did this, and it was not fun. I did not have to replace my regulator, just the power window motor. It can be done with the regulator still inside the door.
First, remove the door panel, armrest, etc. Pop out the power lock, and window switches.
Once that's done, remove the 2 bolts that hold the rear run channel for the window. They are silver, and scribe around them to line them up later on.
Remove the power supply for the motor, and the 2 bolts, and 2 nuts that hold the regulator to the door.
Remove the inside, and outside seal strips that are at the base of the window when its closed. Do this with the window all the way down, it is easier. Try not to bend them too much. They are held in by 4 spring clips each.
Now the window can be slopped around insode the door a bit. The goal here is to move the regulator around until you can get the 2 plastic wheels on the regulator out of the channel at the bottom of the window. Once you have done that, you can raise the window by hand out of your way. Make sure you have a clamp, or someway to secure the window so it does not fall down by itself.
Now you can lift up on the regultor, and move it towards the front of the van to expose the 3 black bolts that hold the motor to the regulator.
drill a hole in the gold plate beside the spring. then through that hole, run a self tapping screw into the gear. Make sure its not too close to the edge of the gear.... once that is fdone, go ahead and remove those 3 bolts, and take out the motor.
You will have to swap the bracket from your old motor to the new one. Rebuilt ones come with the screws to put the 2 together, but you may have to drill the rivits out to get the backet off the old motor...
Once the bracket is installed to the new motor, swap some grease off the old motor to the gear on the new one, and then start the reassembly. The hardest part of the reasssembly is realigning the window to get the 2 plastic wheels on the regulator back into the channel at the bottom of the window......try, and they try again..... I go the front one in first, then usedt he motor to raise the regulator almost to the top, and go the rear wheel into the hole in the center of the channel.....
Don't forget to remove the self tapping screw before trying to move the regulaotr....I did, and it sheared off that screw....no harm no foul, but it could have caused an issue....
Have fun, and don't rush.....its a crappy job...
SOMETIMES you can get the window to work one time by jaring the motor by hitting the inside of the door with your hand pretty hard about 6 inches from the bottom and toward the center of the door. This may make it work one time.
I was able to close my window by helping lift the window with my hand while intermittently activating the switch. If this works a little then stops before the window is all the way up, wait a few minutes to let the window motor cool then try again.
Cut a piece of wood approximet 16 inches long about 3/4 inches square take the three screws out holding the motor in then reach in and shove the window all the way up jam the piece of wood on the bottom or the window track and slide the bottom into the door frame and tighten the wood along the framing until it gets tight thanks Wayne
The window regulators for the year 2000 are very poorly designed, GM used plastic where they should have used metal. The windows will fail for many reasons, too cold. too hot, a bump in the road, or you looked at it the wrong way. The good news is that may parts stores are carrying this particular regulator, the typical cost is $99 [dealer is usually $450 installed]. The ones made in China appear to be the best, while the ones made in the US are the worst. My LeSabre has gone through 8 US-made ones, and so far none of the Chinese made ones. The details on how to remove the panel to replace the regulator is posted elsewhere in this forum.
How do you troubleshoot motorized windows in a car?
First try all of the windows up and down. Write down exactly which windows do not move in response to a switch. Mention whether they fail with the driver-side master switch, the switch by that window or both.
If the window is up and can still make a twitch up when you hit an up switch than you know the motor and its power is OK so your list of causes is cut down significantly. Even if the motor does not make the window twitch listen carefully with the engine off and the ignition on to hear whether there is a hum coming from the motor while you hold the switch down. Again that indicates power and that a switch is OK but doesn't say anything about the motor itself.
Definitely sounds like an electrical problem. First check the fuse that controls the window circuit to be sure it isn't blown out. If it's okay, then the switch could be faulty or the wiring leading from the switch to the back window motor could be broken or shorted out somwhere between the drivers position and the back of the vehicle.
Passenger power window on 1986 Thunderbird does not go up Why?
Typically the cause of a window not rolling up or rolling up slowly is a bad motor, especially if the car is old and the motor has never been replaced.
However, there are several other possibilities such as faulty wring, blown fuse, or a bad switch.
Faulty wiring is easily checked with an ohm meter.
A blown fuse is also easily checked by checking the fuse controlling the windows on your fuse panel.
Another possibility, which is often the case in 90's Ford cars (though perhaps not for the 86 T-Bird), is the passenger side window switch is dead. If it is then the window will not roll down AND it will not roll down if you are using a switch for that window on the drivers side (if your car is equipped with two switches for the passenger window). On the 85 T-Bird both switches are on the same connection. If this is the case for the 86, then this is not the problem. However, you might want to check the switch anyway, because taking the door panel off for the 80's t-birds to get at the window motor is a pain.
