Then he made the window go down and he held the button down for about a minute. It was repeated until the button controlled the window correctly. Each window was reprogrammed along with the sunroof. Book Says: 1. Remove door glass regulator handle if equipment and visible door panel screws. 2. Remove screws from arm rest if equipped, slide it to the rear to disengage the clips and then lift it off. If power windows, use a small screwdriver to pry out the switch bezel from the trim panel, then disconnect the electrical connectors from the rear of the switch. 3. Pry out any remaining trim screw covers. 4. disengage the escutcheon and remove by sliding it forward off the clips. 5. Pry around the outer area of door panel with a large screw driver. 6. Grasp the door trip panel securely and lift up to disengage it. Unplug any electrical switches. 7. Carefully peel the water shield from the door for access.

How do you change a power window motor for a 1998 Chevy Astro Van?

I obtain these from a salvage yard because most motors are riveted to the regulator and the GM ones are spendy. Don't replace just the motor because they are riveted or you will have a nightmare replacing the regulator. You will need to pop out window and door switches, remove the few screws holding panel to door, pop out the plastic panel connectors along bottom and side to remove the panel. This job is not hard, but you will need to take your time to do it. You may need a torx scew driver on some fasteners. The screws for the panel are located around the door pull. Do this in a warm garage as the plastic pieces will crack easily. Take your time and good luck. Mark

Is there a power window relay for a 1991 Buick lesabre?

My Buick Riveria has a problem with power windows as well. For the past few years they are inoperable because I the relay which is in the drivers side door stopped functioning. pull your door panel and follow they wires. It is located between the window control button and window regulator/motor(about the size of a pack of cigarettes). It functions for both windows but they can short out on one or the other or both. I took mine out to get the part number so I could purchase one and no one has access to obtaining the relay. Not even the dealers! You will probably have to find one in a salvage yard. I don't know what model you have but tell ya what, Riveria electrical and body parts are nearly impossible to find. There is probably a couple different year and models that are the same relay. Hope this helps out a bit.

How do you remove the automatic window switch in a Saturn L series car?

Put your fingers into the leather shifter boot at the base and feel under the rim to pop the outside ring that holds the faux wood trim at the base of the boot up and out. (The piece is faux wood on an LS2, it may just be colored plastic on an LS1) You may need to do this twice, on each side of the boot, so that the entire piece of trim and the boot pops up and out. The leather boot should still be connected to the trim, it will pop out as a unit. Once it is out, you can reach into the housing and feel the window switch unit from inside the housing. There is a spring clip on the upper and lower ends of the switch unit, press in the spring clip and pop it up one end at a time. The unit is now out but still attached to the power. I have never unclipped the wire harness but it looks easily doable. IF YOU ARE REMOVING THIS BECAUSE THE SWITCH IS STICKY you probably DON'T need a new switch - you can spray some contact cleaner in the ports at the side of the unit and underneath the switch, this will probably fix your problem, at least if you have ever spilled a soda anywhere near the switch.

How do you get a 1965 Chevy c-10 drivers side window back on its tracks?

remove inside driver door panel ,if i remember correctly they are held on by scews . There you will see access holes. you will probably need to have someone help you position the glass by hand as you work the window regulator to about half way up with the window in corrisponding position, which ever holes works best to work and see thru .the channel on bottom edge of will have notches where regulator rollers can pass into channel. You will have to probably change position of window regulator (roll up or down)to get rollers to match notches. Most likely you will need to replace regulator first right? being that found itself a way out of track to begin with. But if you don't be sure to raise and lower the window several times before you button everthing up.it would also be a good time lubricate everything.hope this helps...

How do you replace drivers side door window in a 2000 ford expedition?

Replacement of your window you will have to remove door panel. You will need a door panel tool or a paint scrapper like tool. You will have to remove some screws around door handle and so. Then you will need to remove door panel by prying door loss around the edges of the door panel. You will see some bolts on the window track remove and replace window, vacuum broken glass if any. When done with the repairs or anything your doing after removing door panel. Then the door push-pins are supposed to be on the door panel. When ready to install those push-pins are inserted inside the door holes. Push them in until you hear a click. After that reinstall the door handle and screws. exc.

How To Repair Your Car's Power Windows

By Matthew Keegan As you're driving down the turnpike and approaching the tollbooth, you reach for the switch to lower your window and nothing happens. The switch moves but the window does not budge. Not even a noise from the window motor can be heard which strongly suggests to you that the device is not functioning. You must stop your car and open up the door to pay the attendant before continuing on your trip. Thoughts of an expensive car repair bill are dancing through your head, putting you in a foul mood and tempering the anticipated fun of your getaway weekend. Don't despair: you can repair the power window yourself and save a bundle over expensive dealership charges. Let's take a look at the steps you can take to fix the problem yourself and save a lot of cash in the process. Before assuming that the window regulator must be replaced you should first rule out the possibility of dirty electrical contacts. On most cars the main power for all switches goes through the master switch located at the driver's console. Sometimes the switch is dirty causing the window to malfunction. If this is the case, take the necessary steps to clean the contact and your problem should be resolved. Should you determine that the contacts are clean and your switch is functioning, then it is likely that the motor has burned out and is in need of replacing. Whether you are installing a Honda window regulator or a Volkswagen window regulator, or a regulator for any other make the steps involved in replacing a window regulator are usually quite similar: # Remove the door panel for the affected window. # Locate and remove the bolts holding the regulator to the door; it is likely you will have to manually lower the window in order to access the bolts. # Remove the old regulator, disconnect all wiring, and replace the old regulator with a new one you have purchased from a parts supplier. Shop online to find the best value as you will pay a mint if you order one through a dealership. # Tighten the bolts holding the new regulator and reinstall the moisture barrier. Make sure all the wires are put back in the door before closing the door panel # Engage the power window switch and the new regulator should work unimpeded. Of course, follow your car's repair manual for specific instructions. I've given to you a general outline to convince you that this is a task that even a novice mechanic can handle - in other words: you can do it! By handling the problem yourself, you'll save plenty of money by avoiding garages who will mark up the replacement part as well as tack on several hours of labor costs to your bill. Shop online to compare prices and to receive the best shipping and handling arrangements available.

How do you fix the rear power window on a 2002 BMW 325i?

i assume you are saying the window does not go up or down correclty but you can still hear the motor working when pressing the window switch, that is common problem. faulty window regulator, somewhat complex to replace, recommend taking to dealer and having it replaced, probably cost around 300$, good luck. I replaced a rear regulator on my 2000 328i and it wasn't that difficult. The regulator was about $65. Check the motor seal, as sometimes the cable will tear it up when it jumps the track. Really no excuse for a window regulator failing in so new a car. I only had 35k on mine and rarely used the rear windows. Chilton publishes a manual for the 3-series for about $20 if you need the help.
