What does the power window relay switch do?

My window on a 2001 Chevy venture wont roll up could it be off track or is it the power window motor?

Everything you have mentioned is a possibility, plus you need to consider the switch and the wires. These systems can get a little complicated and will need a little troubleshooting.

I have included a link that has a description of the power window system, along with a schematic.

How do you fix Mercedes C 240 power window stuck partially down?

You need to determine the cause of the issue before you can make the repair. Did the window actuator fail or did it come out of the rail? Two very different reasons this could happen (but not the only possible ones), two very different repairs.

How do you install the window motor in a 2000 GMC Sierra Pickup?

I had the driver side window motor go in my 200 GMC Sierra 1500. I got prices from dealers over $400. After a lot of research I found a wrecker near Toronto Ontario where I got the brand new motor and rails for $113 including tax. I found a site through a web search that showed how to do the job yourself. It took me an hour and a half and I saved myself over $300. I have it on my laptop at home. I will get it tonight and repost on here tomorrow morning. I am no where near a mechanic. I am actually an elementary school teacher. Give me until tomorrow and I will post back here.

How do i check the Power windows on a 1995 Lincoln mark VIII?

First check the fuses, little panel on the driver's side if both windows don't work. If just one doesn't work try changing out the switch first they are interchangeable. If that doesn't do it just listen to hear if the motor makes a noise when hitting the switch, if you hear nothing, probably motor is toast.

How do you get your car windows to roll up when the switch for automatic windows is broken?

There is no single answer, ther are several answers - depending on the vehicle.

If it is the single up/down botton for a particular window you can (on a lot of models) just pop the switch out of the door or consol and use a paper clip to connect the contacts together that make the window go up or down, since a car is 12VDC, you could get quite a shock if you are standing in a puddle of water when you do this, so make sure you are not grounded - so the direct current does not go through your body. If you are sitting in the seat, wearing shoes, and not touching any metal parts of the car, you will not be hurt in any way. If you cross the ground (negative) contact back to the positive, you will see a spark, and may blow a fuse, just be careful and watch which contacts you touch, change the fuse if you short it and touch the other two contacts, this will either raise or lower the window, touch the third back to the positive and the window should move in the opiste direction.

Otherwise, it depends on the make and manufacturer of the auto, as different companies use different systems. For instance on some (not all) Mercedes - the window switches are in a central consol. If you remove the consol (most just pry off if you find the right places to pry) you can replace the broken switch with one that works, as they are plastic and push electrical contactors together when the switch is pressed. In some models, where the driver has a separate set of controls you can scavange one control for another. Some manufactureres use motors and gears to raise the electric window that allow you to grab the window and raise it manuually. This is only usefull if the window is slightly raised, ff you open the door and put one hand on each side of the window and push together while forcing up (towards closure) you can (sometimes) raise the window. Some vehicle manufacturers use crossing "arms" to raise and lower the window that will not allow the window to move this way. Some models, like VW New Beetles (and most other VW models), when you put the key in the door and turn it one way the dorrs lock, turn it the opisite way and all of the windows go down, turn it again and they all raise - even if all of thee switches are "broken".

Open drivers side door and look on the wall to the left of the brake pedal, by the floor. There is a fuse panel. Open the lid, the backside of the lid has a diagram of which fuse does what. If you don't find what you need, pop the hood. On the left side of the vehicle behind the battery is a black fuse box with a diagram on the lid.

Why did your driver side window in your 2002 Chevy Impala stop working?

If it is just the driver side window and button, more than not the master control switch needs to be replaced. It could also be the window moter or reg. Either way its around $100 if its just the switch that's bad.

How do you install master power window switch on Honda cr-v?

ADVICE: Before going to this step MAKE CERTAIN that you have checked all other possibilities (1) make certain the ignition switch is in the engine RUN position- the windows will work only if the ignition is on. (2) Check the fuse AND the circuit breaker. (3) Check the wiring between the switch and the fuse panel.

Only after you have completed these elementary tests, consider replacing the switch itself.
