After you removed the interior door trim, you will need to drill the rivets that hold the motor in place. Or else, you can do the job with a hammer and chisel if you wish to. After this is accomplished, you just need four 1/4 inch bolts (1 inch long is OK), four flat washers and four self locking nuts(the one with the nylon sleeve in it). You mount the motor placing the bolts from the inside (making sure the bolt heads won't interfere with the travel of the window crank), and finishing with the washers and nut from the outside. Now you have a new motor that can be dismounted much faster if the you ever need it again.
How to fix 97 Jetta GLS Power Window on back door off track?
if urs is like mine, then it needs a new regulator. it goes down (by the button and on its own) but wont go back up. do what i did and wedge some stuff in the sides of the windows and just tell people not to put it down. or, get a haynes manual and buy a regulator and replace it. i heard its easy, but i still have stuff wedged in my window....
The rear ones are pretty easy. Get a new regulator (minus motor) on Ebay. Next you will need a few metric tools. Using a screwdriver pry off the top of the inside door handle. You should see a couple of holes with a large Philips screw at the bottom of them, take these out. Next remove the speaker grille and the speaker and it's mounting bracket ( if it has one ). Next remove the small screws around the outside of the door liner with a hex wrench. Unscrew the door lock button ( black on top of door liner ). You should now be able to use the handle and pull off the door liner. The switch can now be unplugged from it's mounting.Remove the plastic/foam liner sheet.Look inside the door and you will see a contraption that looks like a load of bowden cables, attached to this is the motor, slide the wiring plug off the motor.Move the window to a position where you can loosen the bolts on the window clamp. Next look for two bolts that should be somewhere toward the middle of the door, one above the other a few inches apart. The holes which these bolts go through are slotted. Loosen these bolts. Slide the window out of its clamp. Grasp the runner that window clamp slides up and down on and move it upward so that the bolt heads go through the widest part of the hols. You should then be able to turn the assembly sideways and slip it out of the opening. Put your old motor on the new regulator and reassemble. Don't tighten up the window clamp initially, run it up and down so as to align the window in the frame then clamp it. Try the window again for smooth operation, if it doesn't run up and down smoothly then reposition the window in its clamp until the window does run smoothly. Hope this helps.
How do you replaced window switches in the console of Mercedes 190-E?
1. Remove ash tray, then remove 2 screws holding ashtray body in. 2. Push switch panel to rear and lift on the front to remove switch panel. 3. Unplug switches to completeley remove switch panel. 4. With a screw driver depress the metal clip at each end of switch to remove the individual switch from the panel. 5. You then replace or repair the switch. The switch can be disasembled and repaired. Be careful not to lose the 2 ball bearings inside the switch. Remove the 2 brass rocker plates and burnish the contacts. Then reassemble. Much better than spending 75.00 for new switch assembly. 6. reassemble in reverse order. You do not need to remove the ashtray as the window switches are located on the wood insert around the shifter. Remove the plastic trim ring from around the shifter. Then carefully lift the wood trim surround that holds the switches. Becareful not to snap the plastic clips that hold the switches in place
Where is the fuse located on a 1993 Toyota Camry for the power windows?
most of the time the window fuse is located under the hood but it could aso be in the regualar fuse box but if not it would be in the fuse box uder the hood Fuse box is by drivers left knee. Above this are the flashers and about 3 inches above this is the circuit breaker for the windows and door locks. breaker is silver, about 1/2 by 5/8 inch and in the center is the button you need to push in to reset. I used an unbent paper clip to press it. Make sure unit is not energized. May need to unplug breaker first. Press in center button until it clicks.
The power window relay is located in the engine compartment. It is part of a bank of relay switches on the fender wall near the battery.
How do you reset the power windows and sunroof an a 2002 Nissan Maxima?
With the help of the technical service manual on CD produced by Nissan on the 2002 and 2003 Maxima I now have located the quick fix for a problem I have had since purchasing my used 2002 SE a few months ago. That is the drivers door window one-touch up function for the window was not working properly. The window would go up to the top and then retreat about 5 inches back down again.
This problem is due to the limit switch needing to be reset which at first I thought would be a considerable job (to take off the door panel etc.) but ended up being literally a 2 minute job as the door panel can remain in place. My dealer wanted $85 CDN for the switch reset which I knew was a rip off before I found the fix procedure myself. I know several '02 and '03 Maxima owners have had this same problem but no-one then appeared to know the fix. Alhough this procedure is simple once you do it, my description seems long as I wanted to be a descriptive as possible since I can't provide pictures. So here it is:
Step 1: Pry the plastic cap up off the bottom centre of the door pull handle and remove the single Philips screw.
Step 2: Remove the whole switch panel (in which the door pull handle sits) by prying it up from the back end either with a flat edged screwdriver or table knife (under cloth) or by hand which is what I did. It is just clipped in so should come out relatively easily sliding it up at the back and then pulling it back.
You can now see the inside of the door from where the switch finishing plate sat. You can leave the wiring all attached and simply hang the switch and handle plastic assembly to one side so you can see the inside of the door.
Look inside towards the front bottom of the door behind the plastic vapour barrier you will see a small black switch. It almost looks like a black pan screw head. This is the reset switch but there is a sequence to now doing the actual reset procedure. The switch doesn't really feel like one when you press it through the plastic liner which incidentally you don't need to cut (at least I didn't have to). It is a switch that is only on when you are pressing it otherwise when released it is off.
STEP 3: Make sure the window is closed (up) completely. Turn the ignition on so the windows are receiving power.
a) Press the reset switch (and keep it pressed in) and open (down) the window completely (manually -NOT with AUTO ONE TOUCH DOWN FUNCTION).
b) Release the reset switch. Then close the window completely (manually only - NOT AUTO UP).
c) The limit switch is now reset.

How do you fix a window in a 91 cavalier that has popped off the track?
I've had this happen several times myself. First you will have to remove your inner door panel, the locking mechanism can be a bit tricky just make sure you don't bend the linkage. Replace your guide clips on both sides of the window, these are inexpensive and can be found a virtually any auto parts store. Make sure your track are true and not bent. Make sure you lubricate the guide and tracks for smooth operation of the window. While doing this, most importantly, dont drop your window down inside the door or you will be replacing it too.
How do you remove the door panel from a 1997 Dodge 1500 pickup truck to fix a window?
there are various screws on the door panel some are hidden, being these are the new age cars i would search for the screws if i think i have them all i would start at the bottom edge and pop the edges first then give a slight tug up on the panel to release it from the edge lip on top where it hangs on by the window once that s done try pulling outward not to hard just to make sure all screws are free.once you inter the panel the window should be visable on a track held by two ten millameter bolts.reverse proceeder job well done.

Window stuck down how to fix 99 Chevy Venture?
Hi,
Most of the time a problem like this is either the wiring between the switch and the window motor or the switch. You will need to do a little troubleshooting, but it is a relatively simple circuit that controls the windows.
I have a link below that will explain how the windows work and also has a drawing of the circuit.
Good Luck, Greg

1999 z24 driver side power window has no power?
If the passenger side works fine and there is no power at the driver side motor, I would suspect the switch. A weak motor will overheat the switch causing it to melt inside where the contacts are.
there might be a fuel shut of switch that could of tripped could be a bad alternator

How do you fix an electric window that has power going to it on a 97 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme?

Motor runs but window does not move and does not stay up?
The lifting mechanism went bad. You need to remove the door panel and have a look at what is going on. It might happen that you will be able to repair it, but most likely you will have to replace it.
PS: Before replace anything make sure that you know what happened because it might be repairable. Your problem might be either of these two. 1. A slipped Power window cable, or 2. A broken cable. 1. above can be repaired, if the kits are intact, while 2. above requires replacement. you are welcome.

You Will Have To Get It Replaced, Sorry Don't Know What The Unit Is Called Or Located. How do you replace a window motor on a 1993 GMC Jimmy?
Disconnect the battery, Remove the door panel, vapor barrier plastic, power window connections, and I would remove the entire regulator assembly with motor attached. It helps to have someone hold the window as it drops inside of the door. Some motors are riveted to the regulator at the factory, so if it is I would obtain a good used assembly at a salvage yard. I have done these in a couple hours. Looks harder then it is.
Go to Allpar.com site and download a procedure by Rodger Koppa to replace outside door handle. It includes how to take off and put on the door panel. It's really simpler than it looks. You DO NOT have to unhook the inside door handle as the Chilton procedure says, by the way, if you decide to use that publication.
