Yep you can you just order a new plate and it takes out the stock deck and keeps in the a/c controls and stuff the plate is around 50 bucks sites like crutchfield have it

There are a number of parts that must be disengaged to remove a transmission from a 99 Lincoln Continental. Some of the parts include the shift linkage, throttle kick down, U-joint, lower bell housing and all attached hoses.

First, make sure there is a diagram that shows just how the belt winds around all the pulleys. There should be a sticker right above the fan. If it is not there get a flash light and make your own diagram. CHECK IT TWICE! Just below the alternator is a tension pulley. It is a wheel that's only purpose it to keep the belt tight. When I change mine, I can get my arm in behind the tension pulley and push it in. That loosens the belt and you can remove it. If you aren't strong enough to push it in you will have to use a crow bar. Be careful what you use for leverage. There are a lot of hoses down there. You may need to put a small block of wood below the pulley and use that to rest your crow bar on as you push against the pulley. As I said, I am able to push it in with my hand and I am not a big guy. As you push the pulley in, I find it easiest to slide the belt off the very top pulley. It is smooth and just to the right of the alternator. Next put your new belt on just like the diagram. I find that it is easiest to put the belt around all the pulleys but the very top pulley (it is just to the right of the alternator.) It is smooth and doesn't do anything but guide the belt. Push the tension pulley in (with the belt already on it) and slide the belt onto the last pulley on top. If you are having trouble, make sure the belt is centered on all the pulleys. Once you get the belt on DOUBLE CHECK that the belt fits around each pulley just like the diagram. Also make sure that the belt is centered on each pulley. Most of the pulley wheels with have 6 grooves on them. If the belt is off by one groove, it will be torn apart in about 2 minutes. If everything is centered, you are good to go.

I have actually loosened the door panel and looked up in there and I wired the functioning pieces together, which worked for several months, but then one day it didn't. I checked on it and this cheap handle, with soft plastic parts (too fragile for my kids)was too expensive to replace (which is simple to do by studying the way it goes in; price I believe was over $40) I've decided to keep wiring mine up for months at the time, and may replace it when I sell. If you have zero skills in figuring mechanical things out, just go to the dealer and pay $100 or so. Personally, I would ask the local police to see if they can open it with a SLIM JIM. Some body shops have these too. Good luck. I actually had to replace the door handle on my 2002 Escape and you literally had to take the door apart to do it...found out the easiest thing to do was go to my nearest salvage yard, where I purchased the entire "guts" of a nearly-perfect door and replaced everything inside...took about a half-hour all together. Otherwise, replacing pieces one-at-a-time will drive you crazy. AND...it costs me a grand total of $25.

If you look in from the passengers side front door there is a fuse access door near where the passengers left leg would be when sitting as a passenger. The small 20amp fuse is for the cigarette lighter and the power door locks. There is a white plastic fuse puller attached to the removable panel. Under the hood behind the battery (unless someone used it already) in the fuse panel there, there should be one spare 20 amp fuse there.

First, check that there is a good, working, bulb in the dome light. it sounds like your car has the "Dark Car" option enabled, disable this option by performing the following procedure.

1. Look under the glove box for a blue connector with a single wire going into each side. 2. Pull this connector apart and tie both sides up under the dash.

3. Disconnect the battery negative connection.

4. Leave the battery disconnected from the car for at least 5 minutes.

5. Reconnect the battery to the car.

6. Test by closing the car door then opening it and look at your dome light.

Your dome light and the key-in-switch chime should now be enabled.

Reach underneath to get behind it. You then unplug the light (and holder) to reveal lamp. Similiar to the new halogen headlights where you replace just the bulb instead of the entire casing. It's really a pain to reach it. BE CAREFUL to not touch the glass part of the new bulb. Most are halogen and will burn out prematurely if grease or even oil from your fingers are left on it.

When i get a car in the shop with the complaint that it dies in wet or damp weather, i normally find a bad ignition coil.

To test, lift the hood and start the car at night and spray water from a mist bottle onto the engine looking for sparks. You may see electrical arcs coming from the ignition coil or the spark plug wires.

Remember not to soak the motor or the spark will ground and you may not see it, just mist the motor and keep an eye out for sparks.

Wait a bit before you spray the motor for your eyes to adjust to the dark, that helps, and be very careful of moving parts in the dark they are harder to see. Be cautious.

Well if u have a 2.3 it is on the side of the motor on the driver side. If u have a 3.0 than it is at the bottom of the block.

This happened to mine a few years ago. As mentioned above, I replaced the IAC Valve and it was immediately fine. The part is about $65 and is extremely easy to replace. Anyone can do it. Two bolts and an electrical plug... that's it.
