You cannot bypass or reset the Securilock anti-theft system on a 99 Ford Ranger. If the system begins to malfunction and you can no longer start the vehicle, you will likely need to replace the transponder unit that is located behind the ignition in the steering column.

Low pressure in the tires can cause shaking, the alignment can cause shaking also.

The first thing that I would do is look at the arm of the brake pedal and make sure the arm is pressing against the brake switch, press the brake pedal with your hand and see if the switch head goes in. Also if you have someone with you have them watch the brake lights and use 2 fingers and press the head of the switch in and ask if the brake lights are on,it may be that the switch is bad. this would be step 1. depending on how old the vehicle is you may have a broken 12 volt wire or a ground wire, if your turn signals work and your taillights work I would first check the brake light switch. i have never seen 2 brake light bulbs go bad at the same time.

Not to be coarse, but that may have not been the problem or another was created during the repair or yet even still another problem existed and created the one you just fixed. If the ses light came back on, there will be code (s) stored. Get back on the horse and track them down. Troubleshooting can be very trying.

Looking at the 2002 Ford Explorer Sport (2 door) owner's manual, I found: in location # 13 of the fuse panel on the driver's end of the dash, a 15

amp fuse for stoplamps, high mounted stoplamp, and speed control. Since your high mounted stop lamp works the fuse should be good,

have you checked the 2 bulbs to see if one of the filaments is broken

on each bulb ? The only other fuses for brake lights are for towing

location # 3 - 7.5 amp fuse trailer tow right hand stop/turn lamps

location # 7 - 7.5 amp fuse trailer tow left hand stop/turn lamps

It should be on the upper left side of the firewall. There is typically a single vacuum line running to it, along with one electrical connection. Most Mazda EGR boost sensors are made by Hitachi, so if it is the original boost senor, it should say Hitachi on it somewhere. If you follow the EGR lines around, you should find it eventually. By the way, EGR boost senor issues are a common problem on all Mazda's made around this time and a dealer should know how to fix it.

There is a metal bar called a sway bar that runs from side to side on most cars.

It is attached to the suspension to the bar by links in most applications

Some light trucks mount the bar to the axle and link to the frame from the ends of the bar.

The egr has nothing to do with idling high, the egr valve is not used at all at no load. and if there was something wrong with the egr valve it would cause the idle to be very low. check your EGR valve for leaks on your exhaust manifol. If you have a factory service manual, they have trouble shooting on almost everything about your car. Check your Air filter or Fuel filter. I replace my air filter once a year, Maybe replace your Fuel filter after 30,000 miles. A high idle is typical of a vacuum leak, I don't know where the above answer has any relation to this. if you have a carb, it may not be adjusted correctly.. from: jay c.-- In my own humble opinion, irratic idle is typical of a vacum leak. I had the same problem with my 8 year old sedan, Had the idle air control valve checked, Air Flow Valve, and throttle serviced... all did not solve the fluctuating idle. My mechanic suggested to replace the gaskets (rubber seal) of the valve cover and the manifold, my car's idling perfectly, it's smoother and sounds much better. My mechanic told me that the previous repair used an inferior gaskets and compensated it by using silicon sealants... the silicon sealants eventually wore-off leaving gaps, causing leaks.

You could have a bad wire going to the socket. You can test the connection with a voltmeter. If you are unsure of where to connect the voltmeter try it on the good side first when someone is applying the brakes to see how to connect the meter. Then try the bad side and if you can't get a reading you have a wire or connection problem on the bad side.

The taillight bulb has two filaments One is used for the normal tail light and the other filament is used when you step on the brake. When you step on the break both filaments are on at the same time to give the extra brightness. Take the bulb out and check the continuity of both filaments to make sure that they not burned out.

It is located on the transmission. You will see an electric wiring going toward the middle of the car, if you look carefully enough, it will end up in a connector. That connector is actually connected to the speed sensor. Connector is not held by anything, you can just unplug it. Speed Sensor though is tightened with a 10mm bolt.

Your coolant temperature sending units for your temperature gauge and EEC - V system should be on either side of your thermostat housing at the front of your intake manifold on the 4.0 L OHV engine . ( where the top radiator hose connects to the engine ) When looking from the front of the engine , I believe the sending unit for your temperature gauge is the smaller one to the left of the thermostat housing.

Problem with the SRS. Take it to a professional for repair. This repair is not a DIY job. Serious injury can occur.

pop the trim off around radio(the bezel where you have the 4x4 buttons )and you will see screws holding it in should be 7mm some fords used 8mm if the radio was a model with holes 2 on left and 2 on right you can go to autozone and buy the ford radio keys for around $5

another term is sway bar links tis is the suspension componet that prevents body roll in turns it runs from the LF wheel well to the RF well area the sway bar links is about 12 to 15 inchs long and bolt to the strut and to the sway bar using an 18 mm nut the bolt is part of the link

That is indicating that there is a problem with your air bag - take it to a professional

I have discovered that the problem is in the Wiring between the door and the cabin. I grab the Rubber boot and move it and the windows start working for a while. I have read elsewhere that the Ground wire inside the boot is broken. I have not actually repaired it yet. This seems to be the most common cause of your problem.

It's down underneath the engine right next to the pully in front of the crankshaft. It's a pain to change because one of the two bolts is almost impossible to get to. Have fun with that good luck.
