My air bag light has been on for about a month now. I finally took it to a dealer and found out that it is a faulty sensor in the seat belt assembly. I was told I had to have a whole new seat belt assembly which costs $376. The majority of the cost is the assembly it only take 1/2 hr to put on.

If your vehicle has separate dash panel warning lights for brakes and emergency brakes, then the e-brake light being on while not engaged may indicate that the e-brake switch may be maladjusted or faulty. If the brake warning light is on, it may indicate a brake fluid leak, or in some cases, low brake fluid levels in the reservoir. An air bag problem is not a DIY repair. Injury can accur if you attempt to repair yourself, or the system may become non-functional. Take it to a professional. I could not agree more with what was already answered here. As professional myself, have even had a recent episode with an airbag system. While replacing an airbag control module on a 2005 Explorer, the new control module was defective right out of the box. I did not know it was defective, and when I reactivated the system, the airbag light came on. When I used the scan tool to try and scan the module to find out why the light was on, all the air bags deployed! I nearly came out of my pants! I couldn't catch my breath for several minutes! I am thnkful that I was crouched down on the vehicle floor near the console at the time, or I may not still be around. That was an event I will never forget! I got on the phone to Ford, and they told me that I wasn't the first to have that happen! They told me that sometimes a faulty airbag control module will set off the airbags for no reason. Now I will tell you what 51 means, so that you know when the shop is telling you right. It means that the internal fuse link inside of the air bag control module is blown. You could have a short somewhere in the air bag deployment (or firing) circuit that caused it. The internal fuse is not replaceable, so at the very least, you will need a module, but the system needs to be checked for a possible short in the air bag deployment circuit. Please do not mess with this yourself. Especially this problem! Checking the airbag system requires deactivation of the airbag system, and special airbag simulators installed in place of the airbags themselves. Messing with the deployment circuit especially, can cause death. If the air bag deploys while your head is level with the steering wheel, your neck can be easly broken. An airbag fully inflates, and starts to deflate in less than 4 milliseconds. That is 4 one-thousanths of a second! That is too fast for anyone to get out of the way, and it will injure you.

in my trail blazer i took the whole switch assembly apart and discovered that a miny diode had fried. It is a matter of replacing the switch assembly.

first check to see if your distributor is getting power to it and if it is check to see if the stator inside your distributor is sending a signal to the ignition module, just hook up a test light between the stator going to the ignition module to ground

check the pressure of your fuel pump!

Tailights and dash lights are often fused together. Check the fuse for instrument lights. Also if the fuse is blown and you have a trailer connector on the truck, really look for a short there. I hope this helps a little.

Brake rotors or drums need to be machined or replaced. If it causes steering wheel shaking, check front brakes. If happens when applying parking brake look to rear brake problem.

Many vehicles do not come equipped from the factor with trailer wiring. You may need to connect them yourself or have someone do it for you.

You can go to local auto parts store, Autozone has advertised that they can help you find the right key fob before in my area, don't know if you have an autozone around or not though

THIS COULD BE A BAD WIRE OR ALSO A BAD CONNECTION FROM COROSION INSIDE THE SOCKET THAT THE BULB FITS INTO. CHECK IT OUT FIRST AND CLEAN ANY THAT IS THERE BY GENTLY SCRATCHING IT OFF. ONE OF THE SOCKETS MIGHT ALSO BE BAD AND THAT MAY KEEP BOTH BREAK LIGHTS FROM WORKING. ALSO DO RESEARCH ONLINE AND YOU MAKE FIND OTHER THINGS THAT WOULD CAUSE THIS TO HAPPEN. What is the atmosphere/environment of this occupation? (Outdoors, indoors, working with people, working alone, etc.)

Assuming the car is a gas powered vehicle, and not a diesel the answer is, just long enough to get all the snow off the windshield. You don't need to let the car idle before driving it. The only reason to let it idle before driving is to defrost/defog the windows.

if it is a RED brake light on the dash that comes on when you mash the brake pedal , this is indicating a hydralic failure , uselly from low brake fluid caused by leaking master cylinder or calipers or wheel cylinders hope this helps J

By the nature of the question I assume that you are referring to the tail lights and brake lights. My Explorer has four bulbs. Tail, brake turn and backup. They are all in separate compartments of the light assembly. So it could be that you have just burned out one bulb. If you are referring to the upper brake light in the rear window or at the top of the tailgate, same thing. One or more bulbs are burned out. I see people driving all the time with both lower lights burned out and the top working or visa versa.
