It may be as simple as your parking brake cable in need of adjustment. To check...pull out the release handle while pulling upward on the parking brake pedal. If the light goes out... voila. Adjust the cable..

how difficult is it to change spark plugs on a 2002 ford explorer. It is a 4x4 and has the initials on it xtl or something like that. Can you please help me cause they are trying to charge me an arm and leg to have it done.

one thing you could do is locate the fuse for the running lamps and pull it out but that may turn off your regular driving lamps. if that don't work than i don't belive you can turn them off.

It is right behind the distributor.

your wheel should not "FLOP"around.turn the bike upside down(resting on the seat and handle bars)grab the wheel with both hands one on each side and try to jiggle it.if it moves somethings wrong

It varies from model to model and then trim to trim. for example following is the weight of 2004 ford explorer ( in pounds) ;-

4x2: 4304

4x4: 4469

AWD: 4463

If your handbrake is on or if the brake fluid level in the brake master cylinder in your

engine compartment is LOW , the " brake " light in your dash will light up

Have you checked the WINDOW LOCK button on the drivers door

armrest ( just a thought )

Also , I was looking at the 1997 Ford Explorer Owner Guide and it shows

that there is a 30 amp maxi fuse ( # 10 ) in the Power Distribution Box

( the P D Box is " live " ) located in the engine compartment which is for

the Power Windows / Power Locks / Power Seats

Lift the tailgate. There is two screws at the top of the lens. Remove. Pull on both sides of the lens directly out from the vehicle as there are two ridged prongs about middle of the lens. It will sound like something is breaking but it should come out with a little tugging. On the back of the now removed lens, turn the top plug a quarter turn and pull away from the back of the lens. Pull the bulb from the wired socket and replace. Install in reverse.

there should be a conpartment in from inside the back of the car to get to it ,also you can get a cheep car book for yours at any autoparts store

There is a "clockspring" in the steering column that is probably broken. When the clockspring breaks, the airbag light comes on. The "clockspring" takes the place of the old slip rings and spring loaded contacts used in older cars to transfer circuits from the steering wheel to the stationary column making the airbag, horn and speed control operational. To replace involves removing the airbag. Take it to the dealer. This was a recall but was not made public, i had the same problem and the dealer fixed it for free. The airbag light came on in my 1994 Caravan and I found the clockspring answer. But when the clockspring is bad, the horn won't work and my horn did work. I called the dealer's service dept and got the clockspring answer. I said it's not that because the horn works. I was told to bring it in for an $80 diagnostic test. Instead, I went back to the manuals and checked the fuse information. Fuse #13 showed the air bag and the rear wiper together. My rear wiper wasn't working, so I replaced fuse #13 and that fixed the problem!

It could be several things. The fuse, clock spring, connection at the air bag harness, bad ground wire. If it is the air bag connection you are going to check make sure to disconnect the negative batter cable to avoid accidentally triggering the bag and causing serious injury to yourself. If you need to change the fuse (although not stated or totally necessary) for the air bag i would also disconnect the battery cable just to be safe. Hope all this info helps to find your problem. Good luck with it. You can also use a code reader to reset the code and see if it stays off.

If your vehicle is All wheel drive you don't unless you drop the front drive shaft, but don't my 1999 is AWD it has saved me numerous times.

get an abs dianostic scan at an auto shop.

i wanna say there are four 4" x 6" speakers , 1 in each door I just measured the front door speakers, they are 8" X 5 3/4" the 8" section is curved, although it was measures across The mounting screws are 4 1/4 apart and 4 3/4 apart.

The oil filter on the 4.0 L OHV and 4.0 L SOHC engines is on the passenger side of the engine . The oil filter for the 5.0 L (302 cubic inch) V8 is on the driver's side of the engine, near the front of the engine.

Hi there, my first guess would be that you have a brake fluid leak and the level of brake fluid in the reservoir is *just* high enough to "tell" the sensor that it's ok. Then if you go around bends, the liquid moves inside the container and does *not* touch the sensor anymore - on - off - on - off. Check for leaks, and check the level. If you don't find a leak but the level is low, there still most likely is a leak. Just refilling is only a short-term solution, not finding and fixing the leak is dangerous, as you can imagine. I'm pretty sure it's the black circuit breaker (not a fuse) on the top. when you open your fuse box ( under the steering column) it's #15. It's the only thing plugged in there that's not a fuse.

check your motor mounts if not than it might not be your motor but the pavment your driving on.
