Why is your punto engine smoking?
Many times the problem is a valve cover gasket(s) that has leaked oil onto the hot exhaust manifold underneath it. When you have stopped in traffic, or if you are on a hill, etc., the oil that has leaked has a chance to run down on the hot manifold and smells like rubber or oil burning. Most of the time this is just a nuisance but it should be repaired if is bad enough to the point you can smell it in your car or truck.

What size wiper blades fit on a 2002 Ford Explorer xlt?
The 2002 Ford Explorer XLT takes a 22" wiper blades on both sides front and a 14" rear wiper blade. See sources and related links below for more information. Since there are over 22 different wiper arm attachments, do not buy wipers just by length only - be sure to lookup exact wiper blade part numbers by vehicle make, model and year for the brand wiper you decide to purchase. This ensures correct length AND correct attachment.
Where is the power windows circuit breaker on a 1983 280ZX?
I am not sure about the '83 280zx, however on my '82 280zx there was a circuit breaker located in the passenger kick panel. You should see two screws above the fuse box which will remove a black unit that has the circuit breaker bolted onto it.
(Just to verify) I also have a '83 280zx and yes the
circuit breaker is also located on the passenger kick.
I have experience in this area. Assuming that the fuses and relays are working properly, and the green LED lights up on the "CC On" dashboard switch, ABSOLUTELY do this next: First: Check the vacuum hose on the Actuator Assembley (located conveniently on right side under the hood near firewall) for integrity, cracks, and proper seating. Replace the hose if it is cracked, split, or dry rotted ... or, cut off the bad secton and re-connect to the Actuator Assembley (if there is enough length left). Take the car out and test the CC (about 30 MPH minimum is necessary for CC to engage. Second, if the above does not apply, check that the interlock micro-switches for the brake and clutch pedals are making contact with the rubber bumpers located on the ears of each pedal, and that they are properly adjusted. These bumpers can dry rot, split, and fall out of the holes that they are inserted in, and thus the switches will not "bottom out" to close the contacts when the pedals are released and normally back. The switches are "normally open", and when the pedal is applied it opens (breaking the circuit) and disengages the Cruise Control. These switches (adjustable) must be "closed" when the pedals are released back to their normal position ... allowing the CC to actuate when "Cruise" or "Resume" is selected on the Steering Wheel. Easy Access Hint: Remove the screws from lower cover panel (below the steering column) and just let it drop freely. You will now be able to visualize, analize, test, adjust, and access the switches and bumpers more easily. Please share back your experience using this technique. kevin_justice@yahoo.com
How do you replace the belt tensioner on a 3.8L Ford Thunderbird?
On my Taurus 3.0 engine, I used a wrench on the pulley bolt, and a pry bar to remove tension, allowing me to remove the belt. Then I used a star pattern socket to remove the nut.
Had this problem paid 300 dollars to have it fixed, was told there was a "short " somewhere in the doors. This worked all of 2 weeks, fixed it myself after searching online for a couple of hours. It is the turn signal that needs to be replaced. Yes, the little thing that you use for turn signals/hazards lights, it's all one piece and easy to change, not rocket science. Ford Contours are notorious for this. I hope this helps somebody to not get ripped off by some shifty mechanic. == == Get yourself a 12 volt circuit tester with a sharp end. Have someone depress brake and then get under car and probe into the wires near the brake lights. Look at the color code of the wires going into the brake light and continue probing back into this color wire until you find the area that is causing the problem. I would really check around the junction connector near the rear bumper for corrosion.I hope this helps you.
I have had to go underneathe the car and use a pair of vise grips or pliers to turn a crank that is to the rear drivers side of the tire. that is about the only way to do it unless you have the crank that hole is for the crank to go thru. it veers to the left a little is why it looks like it doesn't go anywhere.
Where is the trailer wire connector on a 2002 Infinity QX4 Is it an easy plug and play once located?
You can get a kit off the web. Once you do that you will have to pull the side panels and tail lights. Insert the plugs and put back together. You will have to run the wires back towards the middle of the "trunk" area. You can either drill a hole and run the wires through the floor, or store the wire connector inside and just close the door on the wires when you need to. There is room and will not hurt the wires or seal.

Why would the tail lights on a 1991 Ford Probe not work when the turning and brake lights do?
check all of the fuses.if they are ok, check the bulbs. If ok, have the headlight switch checked out. My dad has a 95 contour that had the same problem the tail lights and interior lights went out. There was some switch( I believe under the dash) that controled it, that had to be replaced by ford. I found this question actually looking for it because I had the same problem with my 93 Ford Probe. I tried everything. Changed fuses in car, checked bulbs, checked wiring, changed the brake light switch. Nothing worked. Finally figured out it was VERY simple problem!!! It was a fuse under the hood. There's a fuse box under there that I didn't even know of for a while. When I changed it I didn't even know if that was it and IT WAS. Now my dashlights and tail lights work. GOOD LUCK!!
Why would brake lights on a 98 Honda civic not come on even if the bulbs and fuse are fine?
Three words buddy. "Brake light switch". It's located right behind your brake pedal. Try replacing that. check power at the brake switch like the other person said, if there is power there then check for power at the bulb socket. If there is no power at the socket you probably have a cut wire or the relay is open. If there is no power at the socket, you need to do some trouble shooting such as contunity testing for open wires or relays.....get a multimeter and put it on the ohms setting, then attach one side to the switch and the other to the brake light socket. You should get some type of reading, if you get no reading attach the lead to the othe wire on the socket. You should get some reading, if not there is an open on the wire. You might have to mock up a pair of wires from the brake switch to the brake light socket and see if the lights come on
you probably need to lift up on the brake pedal a couple of times to reset the brake switch. worked on our 86
because you added the cheese wiz to the peanut butter and then added blood to make it turn on. i suggest you seperate all of the to make it work properly.

Brake lights dont come on when braking bulbs work fine?
The right brake light does not work on 1999 Ford Windstar. Tail lights and blinking light works. Changed bulb more than once, changed the plug in where the bulb goes but it still does not work.
The tag lights are not working either.
Air in the brake pipes. Old fluid. Worn seals in master cyclinder. Overheated brake pads and discs. If the pads are new they might not be bedded in yet; especialy if the discs are worn or ridged or scaled up.
