- It is probably the idle control solonoid on the throtle body. Take it off and clean it.
- If that doesn't work, check the the fuel filter - it may be time to replace it. If that isn't it it could be the fuel pump is on its way out.
- Replace your PCV Valve. This is a hose running from the top of your engine, going over your coils, into a rubber grommit. If you shake this hose, it should rattle. There will be a metal plug looking object. This is your PCV Valve. Replace. This reburns the excess gases in your valve covers & compression system.

Cleaning the Idle Air Control (IAC) may work, but make sure that the unit installed in your car is one that can be cleaned. There are two designs. One, which is a straight unit can be cleaned, the other, which has a gizmo that turns off at 90 deg. can not be cleaned. That unit has a special coating on the inside, which is destroyed when you attempt to clean it. If the car runs OK normally, but stalls at idle with the AC on, it is most likely a dirty or faulty IAC unit.

I bought a used 2003 Mountaineer in November come to find out that the AC doesn't work. I have added freon but still blows hot air. I bought a rebuilt AC compressor off Ebay and will have it installed soon.

I installed 4 plugs today gapped at .044 and it idled very rough at redlights, pulled them out and gapped at .030 and it's running perfectly.

The "clicking" is probably your solenoid trying to engage the starter. On the other hand, sometimes a battery gets old and tired and it won't hold a charge any more... the results are the same, so you have to have the battery tested. UNFORTUNATELY, when an older battery goes completely dead it will often just give up and you could have both alternator AND battery problems. Anyway... have it all tested and you'll know where you are.

Most likely will need a new actuator/regulator. (The scissor thing that winds the window up and down) I had to replace mine. Better to get them new, but I think the driver's side one is obselete now. You'll have to remove the trim on the inside of the door, remove the glass (it's held on by 2 little plugs), and replace it.

Hi there I have a 2000 Windstar LX, I had the same symbol on my van its a red light and its located in the center of the speedometer. A mechanic i spoke to told me mine had something to do with my brakes and i should "take it in right away", But before I spent any money at the Ford Garage I checked the brake fluid level , and although It seemed ok I added some ( what a hassle to try and get it in the master cylinder, use a funnel with a long skinny neck) anyway i added about 100ml ... and no more light. The symbol is supposed to look like a cutaway view of a tire (look closely and you'll see the tire treads at the bottom of the "U"). It indicates a low tire pressure condition.
The Windstar has a sensor that monitors wheel speed. If a tire is under-inflated, it will naturally rotate at a different speed than the other tires. This causes the warning light to light.
The light also may come on if you have recently replaced a tire. There is a reset button at the base of the steering column, next to the interior light/dashboard light dimmer switch. While the vehicle is moving, press and hold it for 3 seconds to reset.
