Why Polo playa 1.6 wont start?
my polo playa struggles to start, battery light goes on , ignition works but still nothing . Think it could be the fuel pump
Can leaky injectors cause backfire?
Not typically. Usually backfiring is caused by either a damaged distributor cap or an engine ignition that is seriously mis-timed.
How much would a CFM56-5 engine cost?
I was wondering the same thing. I found a used, damaged non-airworthy cfm-56-3 for $99,000usd. I also found a used, airworthy, no hr. limit CFM-56-5 for $650,000usd. The CFM-56 engine family is very popular there were somthing on the order of 20,000 produced.
Do die cast Thomas the tank engines fit on wooden railway track?
My son has several die cast Thomas figures and they don't fit his wood rail set. The wheelbase is too narrow so the won't go into the slots. They did make some wooden Thomas characters and they fit. I found his at our local Barnes and Noble. I haven't bought them in the last 2 to 3 years but I know they are out there because I have a box full. Hope this was some help.
How do you find the size of your engine using the VIN number?
Carfax only gives you the year, make and model unless you pay....don't waste your time...follow the directions on the next answer...

No. Many VW Jetta's with Turbochargers are fueled by gasoline.
The turbo greatly enhances the performance of a diesel powered vehicle. Turbo's are powered via exhaust from the engine that forces more air into the intake manifold. This increases power. Works on gas and diesel powered vehicles
Which engine is more efficient in jet engines. Turbo jet or the Turbo fan?
The term "Turbofan" is actually quite broad, but can be broken down into two categories…high and low bypass. The question you are really trying to ask is which engine type (high bypass or low bypass) turbofan engine is more efficient?
High bypass engines are used on most commercial airplanes (except the Concord) and these engines are favorable because they have a balance of high thrust, and efficiency.
Aircraft that need supersonic capabilities (like the Concord) use a low bypass turbofan engine. These engines produce the thrust required to propel a plane beyond the speed of sound, but at the cost of efficiency. They burn a lot of fuel in doing so.
So one could draw the conclusion that high bypass turbofan engines are more efficient, but this would not be true. In order to propel a plane beyond the speed of sound the low bypass turbofan engine is the most efficient way of doing so. On the flipside, the high bypass turbofan engine is most efficient for practical air travel. Both engine types are very different, but each are specialized to achieve different goals.
Where can you get instructions on how to install an oil pan gasket?
First remove the motor mounts (some times you have to apply heat to break the bolts loose, just remember that you need to be very careful when using heat of any kind around the engine) and then use a floor jack under the front of the engine to lift it up in the air as far as possible to gain enough clearence of the oil pan with the cross brace, if the engine can be lifted up high enough, you should have no problem removing the pan to be cleaned and a new gasket installed. Replace the pan back in place using the pan bolts to hold in place. Bolts can be tightened at this time while engine is in the raised position so you have enough room to get to all of them as long as the engine is secure. After installing pan bolts, lower the jack, replace motor mounts and torque to required specifications. Just remember, this may not work on all cars the same way, so first, you may want to call around to make sure your car can be done this way.
Is it easy to detect a bad fuel injector on the 2 Liter Engine?
To test fuel injector failure disconect the power plug from one while runing (you won't get an electrical shock) and check if engine performance gets worst, if not, you have found the bad one. Test all injectors as well to be sure. Be careful removing the power plug, they use a protection clip that must be reconnected. Avoid this problem using a fuel injector cleaner regularly. Avoid driving the car with low gas in the tank, it will use dirty gas of the bottom.
this nwill only work if the injector is not working, it will not help if it's weak or is working partailly, and if it's like mine you cant even get to the injector plugs without taking everything off, and if you just a guy who changes oil and plugs and a cap then it will be diffecult for you unless you know how to read an ohm meter, and since you have to take the throttle body off to get the fuel log off to get the injectors out which means you have to bleed off the fuel pressure in the line then disconnect the line right before they go into the fender drivers side, my advise is to go ahead and change all the injectors because it's just not worth guessing at which one might be bad or how many are bad, just replace them all and remove all doubt. it'll take the better part of the day to do it unless your used to working on cars all the time, hope this helps, P.S. a book will help but not alot, example: it will say to relieve the fuel preasure from the fuel rail by bleeding it at the sharder valve well the 93 don't have a sharder valve and it don't tell you were or how to disconnect the fuel lines you half to know how and have the platis tools that you use and the air conditioning lines, so thats why i said what i said, butch
What would cause a vibration in the engine when accelerating in a 1997 saburban?

How bad is revving your engine in neutral?
As long as the engine is at full operating temperature and you do not rev it beyond the red line, you more than likely will do no damage, but it is still not a good idea. Revving a cold engine will do damage for sure.
Revving the engine can cause a sudden drop in oil pressure, cause the engine to over heat and it doesn't help the main crankshaft bearings any good as they and meant to be revved under a load(in gear).
Loud clunking noise from engine at idle?
First thing is to check the timing belt if it is a 4 cylinder model. These are notorious for a slapping or clunking noise as the belt gets a bit loose. This is esp true if the belt has been changed as the spring loaded belt tensioner is anstalled at that time(not used from the factory). Once again I cannot emphasize enough that people need to buy a good Manual for their car as it answers most of their questions.
What happens if you put 5 gals of diesel into a gas tank with only a quarter of a tank?
Sounds like you'll soon find out! Obvisously you should not run diesel fuel in your car. Diesel fuel is a light oil, and will mix with the gas to form an even lighter oil. The relatively low compression in a gasoline engine will likely not be enough to create combustion, and will run very poorly if at all. The car's engine controller will attempt to correct the air/fuel mix, and lead to more trouble, even after you fix the gas. The catalytic converter may also get fouled. Before you attempt to drive the car and get this bad fuel all through your line, drain the gas tank out at the fuel filter into gasoline containers and properly dispose of this. Have the car towed to a mechanic if you cannot safely drain the gas yourself. Do not just let the fuel pour out on your driveway or into your yard. This will create a VERY UNSAFE situation, not to mention ruining your yard. Do not attempt to use the collected diesel/gas mix in a diesel vehicle. After you get as much out as you can, fill the car's tank with regular gasoline and you should be OK. A very little bit of diesel (less than a quart) in a large quantity of gas will affect performance, but still run without ruining your car. If you are a real stickler, you should flush the tank with some gas to get all the diesel out. Did you not notice the green handle and high price at the pump? Good luck. <><><> For more information please see the answer to the Related Question shown below.

How can you restore engine compression?
usually you need to replace the piston rings.
I have used a product called " Cerma " and I have had very good results
The maker says it works or you get your money back, and it's a one time treatment. search for Cerma Oil and it will get you to them.
If this is a rubber hose it's your water pump bypass hose.
it is called a bypass tube and to replace it you have to pull the belt tensioner. this is awnsered near the end of buick regal questions.

Cummins N-14 has low power under a load?
The N-14 series is a good motor, with a fairly wide powerband. If the motor seems underpowered, it may be because of the tractor specs - the N14 series ranged from 370 to either 500 or 525 horsepower, and torque output was considerably different as you went through the horsepower range.
Again, you may want to look at the overall tractor specs. If you're running in mountains, and your tractor runs something like 3.55, 3.58, 3.42, or 3.36 rear end gears, I'd look to that more as the source of your power problems rather than the motor.
