outside handle... 1. With the window glass in the full up position, remove the door trim panel, the energy absorber pad, if equipped, and the water shield. Coupe Models... 2. On early models remove the cover assembly if equipped. Remove the retaining nut or drill out the rivets, as required, then detach the lock rods and remove the handle from the door. 3. On later models, remove the lock rods from the latch and remove the handle retaining nuts through the opening in the door frame. Rotate the lock cylinder pawl for clearance an remove the door handle. 4. Installation is the reverse of removal. Sedan Models... 5. If your working on a rear door handle, remove the window glass. 6. Pry the remote rod out of the handle with a small screwdriver, remove the nuts or drill out the rivets, as required. and lift the handle off. I assume you are referring to the exterior handle which I replaced on my '93 LE just recently. First, you will have to remove the interior door panel. Trust me, it's tricky. Make sure the window is up. You will need a special tool to remove the 'christmas tree' fasteners. There are also a couple of screws that will require a Torx' screwdriver. Once that it out of the way, you will have to reach into the door an remove the linkage to the latch assembly. There is a clip holding it on and it is easy to remove. To remove the handle, there are two 10mm nuts holding it on. One will be a little hard to see, but it there. The second one is hidden behind a rubber plug near the edge of the door. This can be accessed without removing the interior door panel. The installation is not too hard but there is a trick. The linkage to the handle is loose and it will fall into the door before you can connect it to the latch assembly. Lightly wrap the linkage to the new door handle with some masking tape to hold in place but not too tight that it would restrict its function after installation. The hardest part is reconnecting the linkage to the latch assembly. You cannot see it, you'll have to feel your way through it. Good Luck!

If this is the 93 Grandprix with the 3.1 eng. the Knock sensor is located just under the manifold back next to the fire wall you can see it from the bottom. It's hard to get to if you have small hands you can touch it from the bottom. However it is much easer to let the eng. cool down lean over the eng. close to the front of the eng. if you can get your hand and arm back there it is much easer to remove and replace from that point. I know I did one from the bottom it took 1.5 hours from the top it less than 15 minutes.

On six cylinder 5.8 liter, at back of engine in rear of intake manifold, very hard to see.

There are no spark splug wires!!! Its spar-on-coil. Jack ass!! Follow the four spark plug wires! Maybe you have a cover on your engine where the wires end up, remove it with a screwdriver and you will see the plugs. Try changing the wire for some aftermarket wired such as magnecore or spitfire for aditional horsepower!

Depends four cylinders have 4 and six cylinders have 6 is the only two motors the optima have.

Depends on the engine, the 2.0l and 2.4l options were 4 cylinders with 4 spark plugs, the 2.5 L Mitsubishi 6G73 V6 option required 6 spark plugs.

Blower motor is under the dash on the passenger side.

I have a 2000 Cavalier that did the same thing with the DRL, and only one of the lights worked when I put on the headlights manually. Ended up being a burnt-out bulb that I had to replace. No wiring necessary.

Sounds like a fuel filter/fuel pump issue....I'm having a similar problem with my 1990 Grand Prix SE. Was hoping to find the location of the pump and filter, as they aren't even mentioned in the owner's manual!!! I'd prefer to do the repairs myself...another site said replacement of the filter was quite simple, and it's cheaper than the $50 the repair shop wants!!! Also, I read a review at that same website, where the author complained that his fuel pump went out at 199,000 miles. It's worth checking out!!

Hi what astra is it g ? if so the fuse box is located behind the dash board pocket drivers side, you will need to take out the pocket then unscrew its mount the fuse box unclips from the bottom and swings forward. hope this helps

Purchase or borrow an OBD2 Code Reader. This is a device that connects under the dash and communicates to your vehicles computer. the code generated by the OBD2 unit can be cross referenced to a data base and the problem identified. ex: P300 misfire of engine detected. You then go in to your dealer or mechanic armed with the info of what is wrong with your car.

the back of the seat is the front of the trunk. To remove the rear seat back you first have to remove the two bolts just under bottom seat assembly. Bolts are located at the botton of lower seat, about between your ankles if you were sitting in the seat, one on each side. Then remove bottom seat assembly. Then remove seatbelt bolts that hold seat back assembly, lift straight up on seat back and remove.

I'm not finding Torque converter sensor, are you sure you don't mean converter check valve or converter clutch solenoid? anyway, if you are looking for any of the shift Selenoid (1-2,3-4, or 2-3), or the TCC Selenoid, or the TWM Selenoid, or the Transmission Temp sensor, These are located inside the side cover on the transmission. On my 1999 grand Prix se this cover is located above the Transmission pan and drivers side....

Check the fuse.

Check the blower speed resistor.

Check the blower speed control switch.

The 1985 Pontiac t top is a rare find I have 1 looking for some spare parts and it is difficult to find them

Was it missing and sputtering before you changed them? If no, then you could have got the firing order mixed on the distributor. Maybe if you didn't replace the wires also one became more damaged while removing it. If yes, maybe its your fuel, or injectors, and you need to add a bottle of cleaner to your gas tank.

The auto parts stores will say .044 - it isn't! According to the smog sticker and owners manual it's actually .039 - .043.

what do you mean by running rough? does it idle up and down and not steady and when you press on the gas it would die ''

if this is so, I had the same problem,, on my Isuzu 1989 pickup 2.6 4x4,,, it turn out to be a fuel pump problem

fuel pump was working but not making enough pressure ,, was pumping only 28 psi

needed to be pumping 42psi when starting and 38 psi when idling ,,, get a fuel pressure

test to be sure.... hope this helps

Your problem could be a blown fuse,lose wire, a gummed up dirty fan shaft or worn out fan motor! There is also a relay that might not be working if your lighter works the fuse is not blown the fan motor is switched off of the ground so with key on there should always be power there Licenced tech 17 years
