How do you replace the transmission fluid in a 1993 Mazda 929?
I have a 1993 929. My husband just changed the transmission fluid in it. He said you have to completely drop the transmission and make sure the you replace the filter also. Then put the transmission back up and fill it with fluid. Mine took app. 6 quarts. ,Jennifer
Actually you do not have to remove the transmission, their should be a drain plug on the side of the transmission pan, if not you can loosen the transmission pan, which should have between 8 to 12 bolts on, you can change your tranny fluid, and filter from there and replace a new gasket. No need in dropping your transmission. Your getting into more head ache than you need. I Jennifer.
First, determine if you have a manual or electric mirror. The procedure is basically the same but you need to get the correct replacement mirror.
On the inside of the door near the front corner where the window meets the door, you'll see a small traingular plate that has a single Phillips screw in it. Remove the screw and then remove the traingular plate. This exposes the 2 screws that hold the mirror in place. Remove the 2 screws and the mirror will now be able to be removed. If you have the electric mirror, pull up slightly on the wire to bring the connectors into view. Disconnect the connection.
Installation is the reverse of removal.

How do you replace the heater core on a 1993 Mazda MPV van?
Its a bear to do, you have to remove the center console also the panel for the glove box. The in-out hoses must be detached from the heater core. You dissaemble unit that houses the core and blower fan. Be prepared with plenty of rags and muscle ointment, rags for driping coolen, ointment for a sore back from reaching back to the firewall and crawling on the floor to remove the core. It would be a good idea to get a manual with pictures and diagrams to help do this.
What is the firing order for a 1983 Mazda 323 1.5L?
I'm pretty sure it's 1,3,4,2 and the distributor cap should have a marking on the side or the top indicating which is No 1.
What can I check if my 1988 Mazda 323 has no spark commimg from the coil?
There are a few steps: The easiest will be to try using the coil from another vehicle preferably one from a car with te same engine size ( DONT WORRY THE BORROWED COIL WONT DAMAGE). Also try changing out the wires between the coil & distributor. Lastly check the wires that should deliver power to the coil. Hope this helps ;-)

How do you replace the water pump on a Mazda 323?
which engine E5 or B5?
For the 1600 SOHC engine you will need to do the following:
1. Depressurize and drain the cooling system.2. Loosen the alterantor adjustment and remove the belt.3. Remove the water pump pulley.4. Remove all the timing belt covers.5. Loosen the timing (camshaft) belt tensioner and slip the timing belt off the camshaft toothed pulley (ensure you do not move the positon of the camshaft)6. Unbolt the lower radiator hose fitting and heater retrun pipe.7. Unbolt the water pump from the block (5 bolts).8. Remove all traces of the old gasket before mounting the new pump (Permatex spray on gasket remover works well).9. Install the new pump and reassemble in reverse order to above.
PS I replaced my orignal water pump after 220,000 kms, primarily because it was leaking coolant.

Where is your electronic ignition relay in your Mazda 1989 323 1.6 liter?
If you are referring to the ignition/fuel injection mapping computer, it is held down to the floor (tunnel) by three bolts at the base of the firewall where it meets the floor pan, behind the heater box.It can be removed/replaced without removing the heater, but you will have to remove part of the console surround (cover) to gain access. Make certain you disconnect the battery before doing this job and ensure that you replace it with the correct type (there is one for automatic and one for manual transmission models). Good Luck Malcolm
How do you remove the backseat of a 1989 Mazda 323?
I just removed my backseat from a 1987 Mazda 323 so it may be the same.
Move the front seats up and position yourself on the back floorboard facing the back seat. Locate the two metal brackets just inside the bottom edge of the the seat on either side. These are what secure two metal hooks that are part of the seat itself. Press on the seat from the front at these two locations to unlatch the hooks and then simply raise the seat up. Voila!
How do you replace alternator belt Mazda 323?
(this assumes it is a car similar to the 1988-1993 generation Mazda 323)
First, you need to take off the belt to the power steering pump. To get it off, you need to open two screws that hold the pump in place, and then slacken the belt with the tensioner screw.
When that belt is off, you do a similar thing with the alternator belt. Loosen the bolts that hold the alternator in place, and you can move it a bit so the belt slackens.
Same thing in reverse to get it back on again. The belt should move a centimeter or so when properly tensioned. You can't go by the slack of the old belt, since worn belts are usually way too loose. If the belt slips (and starts "screeching"), it's too loose. You may need to tighten it a bit after it's been "worn in".
see if your local library has a shop manual to use for free.. I'd get a manual if your going to keep the car d
How do you remove rear bumper Mazda 323f?
hi just bought a mazda 323f but need to remove damaged bumper how do i do it please
The tension bolt should not be removed. The four bolts holding the alternator in place need to be removed, the loosening tension bolt will give enough slack to get the belt off.
How do you change the transmission fluid on a 1994 Nissan Altima with manual transmission?
drop the tran pan and take out the filter replace the gasket and filter with a new one and rebolt it back up then remove the rim and tire from the drive axle and pull out the fill plug and fill with gear oil The above answer is for an automatic transmission. The manual transmission has a fill plug on the front about two-thirds down, and a drain plug on the bottom. Just remove drain plug, drain out old gear lube, replace drain plug, and fill with 80W90 gear oil until it reaches the fill plug(usually about 2 1/2 qts.)
The drivers side window switch is the master switch which means all the power goes thru it first, before it continues to the passenger side. I would remove the master switch and using a 12V circuit tester, I would see if current is passing thru the switch and also it may simply be a loose connection at this master switch.I hope this helps you. Mark
Disc Brakes: As you step on the brake pedal fluid (which cannot be compressed) is forced from the master cylinder to the individual brake calipers forcing them to apply equal pressure to the piston (located in the caliper) which puts outward pressure on the brake pads which are attached to the brake rotor (and wheels) forcing the rotor and wheels to stop. Drum brakes: Similar except the brake linings are located inside the brake drum and when pressure applied linings expand against the brake drum forcing the wheel to stop

How do you tighten alternator belt on a 1989 Mazda 323?
Slacken the nut at the top of the alternator (14mm I think) and the bolt at the bottom.
Pull alternator out until you can only get 10mm of movement in the belt on the longest run. Tighten bolts.
You will need the car up and take the shield underneath off to get access.
How do you replace the alternator on a 1987 Mazda 323?
I have now managed to take the alternator off the mount and adjujstment bracket. However, as I wrote below, the adjustment bracket needs to be removed before being able to remove the alternator from the engine compartment. Otherwise, you will not be able to remove it. You will have to turn it to find the best way to get it out, and, remember what way that was as when you put the new one in, you will need to put it in the same way.
I am currently looking at replacing my alternator. I have a hatchback '87 323. The first thing, unplug the negative from your battery. This will eliminate any current on the vehicle or engine compartment. Next, you will have to remove the alternator belt adjuster bracket, so you can get the alternator out. From there on, it should be fairly simple. The space is limited, so you may have to remove the alternator tightly against the manifold. Then, its home bound from there.
I have not done the whole work yet on mine as it just died today, but a little!
What is the ignition timing for a Mazda 323 1.4 engine?
