Where is the air flow sensor on a 98 mit mirage 1.5l?
Hi. I own a 98 mirage de 1.5lt. I also wondered where the air flow senors where because i wanted to clean them due to loss of power. When I looked, I could'nt find any. I then learned that the only "air" sensors my engine(4G15/A) had where an intake air temperature sensor, manifold absolute pressure sensor, and two heated oxygen sensors. The manifold absolute pressure sensor is the most important one for the 4G15/A engine. That one is located behind the intake manifold against the firewall right below the hood seal. It's in plain sight. There should be a diagram under the hood for the EVAP system that will illustrate the excact location of the MAP sensor. Hope this was helpful. By the way, a severly stressed timing belt was the cause of my non-existing acceleration. I changed it myself at 100,000 miles. Time consuming but not difficult. What a difference.

How do you put a cold air intake on a 1997 Mitsubishi mirage Ls without the engine light coming on?
Did you remove the mass air flow sencer ... if so you will need to get the bypass mod or i have even seen mounts that hook up to your MAF .... you use the existing ducts and the Maf but not the air cleaner box..... if the maf isn't hooked up or properly bypassed the engine light will come on b/c there isn't enough air being pulled through the MAF so it isn't picking up.... witch means your ecu isn't registering the right amount of air that's the closest i can come to the answer... I'm no mechanic but i am looking into doing some mods myself hope this helped
Am I right in assuming that this has an automatic gearbox? If so then more information would help. What you are experiencing may simply be a vehicle which doesn't have seamless gear changes - in this case the gear changes become more noticable under heavy acceleration. Some of these transmissions used what is known as adptive technology, this means that the computer which controls and monitors the engine and gearbox "learns" its gearshift patterns by momorizing your "style" of driving. Are there any noises associated with gear changes? Have you or can you compare with another vehicle of the same make , model?
It is possible that the learned patterns which are stored in the computer, can be reset either by means of a reset button or by disconnecting the battery for 5-10 minutes. Afterwards, the driving style will need to be changed in order to give the computer different parameters. This procedure may require some experimetation in order to "teach" a set of values to the gearchanges which feel right. At first after resetting the E.C.U, try some hard accelerating, this may instruct the computer to get out of first gear quickly to avoid over-revving - after learning this, you MAY find that the gears will shift from 1-2 at lower revs (this is just a theory of mine). Id be interested to find out how it goes.

Where is the PCV valve on a 1995 Mitsubishi Mirage?
Under the hood, on the Head Gasket cover (Where you put in the oil) the top right corner. You'll see a black hose feeding into a silver bolt connected to the Head Gasket. Turn off the car, let it cool, pull the hose off and unscrew the bolt (the entire thing is the PCV). It'll take you all of 3 minutes to change it! MoreDefinately make sure the engine is cold. The PVC valve screws into aluminum which is easy to strip out.

How do you repair the wiper motor on a 1996 Mitsubishi Mirage?
It may not even be "broken" I thought my wiper motor quit on me. But it turns out that the armlinks from the motor came undone. So this might be the case for you as well. Right underneath where the wipers sit on the windshield is like a plastic "drain" looking thing. (Im not good at explaining what part is what..) take that off and you should be able to see two armlinks that connect to each other. if they arent connected reattach them. :)

Where is the fuel pump relay and or fuse for a 1993 Mitsubishi Mirage?
How do you tell if Mitsubishi Mirage is 1.8L or 1.5L?
There should be a tag on the passenger side of the engine which says what model the engine is. If you take that model number and look it up in the owners manual, or any local parts store, it should give you the model numbers for both the 1.5L and 1.8L engines. Just match the model number in the book to what yours says and you'll know for sure. In addition, the emmisions sticker will give you the model number and I think the size of the engine as well.
2001 Mitsubishi mirage fuel door won't open?
I have the same problem. I just had someone use a credit card to pry it open while I pulled the release lever inside the car. Using something like a credit card you don't have to worry about damaging the door. I am currently working on getting a replacement spring.
