Kia Sedona leaks coolant in rear of car?

is a sedona a minivan with 2 zone air/heat, if so it could be a secondary heater core.

I had the the same problem last summer. The rear heater lines cracked from rusting. My 2004 Sedona EX with rear AC/Heat leaked coolant thus ended up overheating the engine. Luckily no damage was done to engine and the vehicle was still under factory warranty. So the dealer had to replace the coolant lines which are tied in from the front all the way back to the rear heater core.

Cheaper repair - disconnect coolant hoses behind lines at the front tire area. Buy a small diameter coolant hose, u-shaped part No.10777 and two hose clamps part no. 70501012 at NAPA auto. Use slip joint pliers to remove old clamps, wiggle and gently twist to remove hoses. Put both new clamps around the u shaped hose and reattach with a screw driver. Results- car is totally drive-able until fixed with the very expensive dealer repair or drive that way with no heat to the rear seats.

Why does your 97 Pontiac Transport keep overheating?

The 3.4L engine has a common problem which makes the van overheat. The one of two major problems are both cooling related and that is why they fail to do that job and the engine begins to overheat.

One likely problem is that the Intake Manifold Gasket is torn. This is the lesser of the two problems. The second likely problem is that the Head Gasket is torn. This is the bigger problem. Many times, it is easier for the mechanic to just swap your engine with a different one from the scrapyard.

How much does it cost to replace a car radiator?

Assuming since you own a Mercedes you won't be using old parts; Just the radiator itself without hoses and assembly, will run you anywhere from $190 on your lower cheap end and if you want a good radiator you could spend up to $450. The installation is probably going to cost a good penny. They're foreign cars and mechanics (Unless they deal with exotic cars) will often times not know immediately how to work on the car. Also I'd have to know which motor it was, M113, or the W series of they're engines. Anywho, i gave you a rounded off estimate since I don't know the car or year.

Drain, remove two hoses, if auto remove trans lines (two), remove fan guard, remove overflow container, bolts at top sides, lift out, confirm pepcock is in new one, if not use one from old unit. Install new unit, replace all above, in reversed order. Replace cap with new one. Consider a lifetime warrnity over just a one year. Fill with good coolent, run motor top off coolent, check for leaks. Recheck coolent after motor is driven and cooled. Takes about one hour.

What is the proper way to flush a 1996 Bonneville radiator?

At the bottom of the radiator there is a valve turn the valve and watch it go. If you wanna backflush the whole cooling system(good idea) remove the lower radiator hose and your block drain (lowest part of the block usually) and put a water hose into the lower rad hose and flush out all the crap

Where is the radiator drain plug on the 2001 Bonneville 3.8 VIN K?

On my 2000 it's on the bottom drivers side of the radiator, you have to remove the spalsh guard to see it. On the radiator end cap you'll see 2 tabs hanging striaght down with a split in the middle. I used an extra large flat blade screwdriver between the tabs to unscrew the plug. The position of the wires and location of the plug make it difficult to drain into a pan, without making a mess. A small funnel with about a 6 inch hose will help.

Can i solder a crack on my radiator to stop a leak?

Hi I've seen some pro's solder a radiator up, but because of the thinness of the vanes it probably isn't something you might do yourself. However a trip to Pep Boys or Auto Zone will turn up at least three or four product that you pour into your radiator and, unless you have Niagara Falls coming out of there, they have a reasonable chance of sealing it from the inside. Personally I have used one called Barr's, but that might not be available in the States. Phil

How do you change the lower radiator hose on a Ford Escort ZX2?

If you are replacing it then it is easier. Just loosen the clamp on both ends of the hose. Usually it is a squeze type if it is never been replaced. Squeze the two prongs together then slide it towrd the center of the hose. If it is hard to get of then slit the hose with a razor knife long ways then pull it off. Once the hose is off then replace it. I also replace the hose clamp with the screw/worm type so that it is easier to get off next time. Good luck.

Mixing colors of coolant in auto radiator?

Until an expert improves this answer with the actual Chemistry reasons, I submit the following opinion. The colors which are added to anti-freezes, and oils and gasolines, are put there to indicate differences. The intermixing of different colored anti-freezes IS NOT RECOMMENDED because they have different characteristics, and are NOT COMPATIBLE. The practice will not, probably, cause immediate engine problems, BUT OVER TIME, will definitely result in degradation of the internal surfaces of the engine, and the entire cooling system. Therefore, don't intermix different colors of anti-freeze.
