it is located under the drivers side dash to the upper left of the brake pedal. back near the fire wall. it is about 1 inch round and is located next to the horn relay. the horn relay is square.

I have a 97 mercury sable, basically the same car. I found my low side connector on the firewall passenger side at the top. there is a high side connector sticking straight up next to the radiator refill, it is directly back from this. The problem I have is the recharge kit connectors do not fit. I am looking into it further and will post if I come up with anything, but the guys at the local auto parts store confirmed I had the right valve, but can't connect the recharge hose. The cost of replacing a part is a very general question that unless specified exactly is hard to answer. First, is who is replacing the part? Is the Dealer, an independent repair shop, a junkyard, the guy next door or you doing the replacement. These will all yield different prices. Not to mention that within all of these will be different labor rates and different part price mark ups. Second, what is the quality of the part? Is it a name brand, generic (white box, economy), OEM or used part? All of these will be different. Price will even differ between name brands, sometimes significantly. Thirdly, What is the warranty of the part and who is offering the warranty (the shop the parts house or the manufacturer). Limited Lifetime will have restrictions. Lifetime warranty isn�t always the best part either. Fourthly, Each vehicle can have different options that will affect how long it takes to change a part or make it call for a different part. Such as heavy duty cooling system, air conditioning, 4x4�s may have a steel plate that may need removal, Automatic or manual transmission, the list goes on. Fifthly, What additional parts will be required? Long life coolant or standard coolant, R12 or R134a air conditioning freon if it needs to be discharged or replaced? Additional adapters other fluids that may need to be added or changed? All of this will affect price. Sixthly, is the car a new car or an older car? Labor manuals or guides are set up based on a new car. Additional time may be required due to seized or rusted bolts, additional aftermarket accessories that were installed etc. So you can see where there is a great potential for variances. I offer this insight: If you take it to an independent garage like I always recommend, consider how long they have been in business. What is the quality of there work, are they honest? I have a 97 Cavalier which I hit a median and have to replace a strut and other parts. For one strut it approx costs 216.00 and for two depending on how many miles you have in your car it would be approx 420.00. (Can B Cheaper)It depends where you shop and get the repair work. Also the miles and condition of your car are big factors too.

Look in the fuse box. It is usually a round looking or square block. On the fuse box panel when you pull it off it should tell you where the signal flasher is located in the box.

Im betteing one of your motor mounts is broken and making the car shake. does the engine move when you gun it in neutral?

ajust the idle of the car.

The car has no idle ajustment it is controled by the PCM check the motor mounts and check your idle control motor. Also have you intake and plentium checked and cleaned also run some fuel injector cleaner every tank full.

Depending on the vehicle, the cooling fan may strike the radiator shroud, the cooling fan may also strike a radiator hose and you may end up with a cracked/leaky exhaust system.

Low coolant?

On the compressor itself. It has an L on the cap.

I used a 7/32 socket but it's probably a metric. The heads are really soft so don't over-torque them.

Turn on the power knob for the radio/clock. Wait until the clock display shows up. Press "set", and use the "scan" and "seek" buttons to set the time. Hope this helps!

The wiring is all messed up. Other than headlight flap malfunctions, the electronic dashboard in the toronados are the #1 thing owners of them have had to deal with. Its about a 700 fix. And not too many people know how to do it without costing you way more money

Check all the data lines, the test connection near the parking brake (it's a small plastic cover with a metal connector that continues the data circuit), the 7 volt power supply above the gas pedal is a possible culprit, the BCM (body control module) and any part in between that involves the data line with includes the climate control, chime control module etc. The data circuit is a redundant circuit and in general it has to be shorted to ground or both sides open for it to have that type of effect on the cluster. In most cases it's the cluster itself unfortunately. The way it was designed, the parts that are surface soldered just lift off and you have problems from vibration and weather changes that cause this.

If the coil is behind the intake, it is easiest to remove wiper arms and cowl below windshield. At least you will be able to see the ignition coil. After that have fun.

On my "2000" Venture there is a black plastic box under the hood located near the battery that has many fuses and RELAYS in it. The inside of this box lid has a list of the of position and type fuses and RELAYS. These items are so closely mounted to each other in the box that I had to remove a few other RELAYS to be able to get my fingers or a pair of ajustable pliars on the one that needed to be removed. Look for a plastic box mounted on one of the wheel wells inside the engine compartment for the RELAYS.

You will need 4 quarts of oil. Every 3000 miles, I normally put 5w30 in mine. Perhaps one quart of Engine Restore and 3 Qts of oil. I bought my car with 115K miles on it in 2004 and it's still going strong at 180K miles.

Check for a broken wire in one of the cluster of plugs on top of the left wheelwell.

Have you checked the plug-in connection fo the crankshaft position sensor located behind the A/C Pwr. steering bracket? A new sensor costs about $150. A fault code would show up if it was bad.

Standard tools, nothing special. The problem is getting to the core, and removing it. This is a very difficult job. Take your time and remove whatever is necessary to gain access.

Depends on WHICH Cavalier, if you're talking about the 2.4L engine, it's on the front of the block, very easy to see and get to from under the car.
