What would cause a 1993 Chevy cavalier to overheat and not start?
I'm assuming this: you probably ran out of oil via leak or something. Well your engine probably overheated from no oil/ coolant. It seized up and won't restart? Well, my suggestion is if nothing is blown pull the engine and do a full rebuild and see if that helps.
Why would a 93 Bonneville dash stop working?
If you mean the lights, it's probably just the headlight switch itself, which can be rotated to adjust the brightness of the dash lights.
Turn it back and forth to see if the dash lights wake up.
If you mean the dash electronics altogether, that'd be wiring.. probably a ground - get a schematic and get to it.
check ur fusebox..fuse might be blown
This can happen due to few reasons. Check the spark plugs, any Air leaks on hoses, check the SICV -- Slow Idle Control Valve(if not move well, clean with the petrol),check the proper voltage and specially check the FPR--Fuel Pressure Regulator. If you check those areas, you can eliminate the problem.
== == == == == == == == just had this with a 99 3 series.. i changed the fuel filter and the sluggish jerking went away.. An air leak will also do this. Meaning that the car is sucking in air through so opening in the air tubes or intake system, check for loose fittings or puntured vacum hoses. If air is leaking in, the car will be stariving for gas so it jerks, sometimes it even revs up on it's own, and set check engine lights off. Hope I could help
The service engine light finally came on and it identified the Mass Air flow sensor is bad.
Where is the fuel pump located on a 1984 2.0 cavalier?
If your car is fuel injected then it is in the gas tank. You have to lower the gas tank down far enough so you can access the fuel pump. You will have to drain most if not all the fuel out first. Remove the fuel pump as an assembly. It is cheaper and easier to replace the whole assembly
Why wont your 1985 Cavalier stay started?
The first thing that I would do is start the car and if you have time, diconnect the positive battery cable. If the car dies then it's the alt. Otherwise could be a fuel pump or possibly maybe in the trans. I had a similar problem in my 86 and it was the TCC, (torque converter clutch), which would not let my car idle right, and kill it. Hope this helps.

How do you check the 02 sensors on a 2.2 ecotech engine in a 2004 Chevy cavalier?

How do you replace the head gasket located on a 1994 Chevy Corsica?
Hey Richard==It is quite involved but if you want to try it get a manual on your car. It will have pictures and everything. GoodluckJoe
Replacing the head gasket on any vehicle is a long and complicated process, however if you wish to see basic step-by-step instructions go to the related question on the right side of the page "How do you replace a head gasket?"
It's a tough call, but the one we did a couple of months ago, had a bad computer. It would run good for a few minutes, and then start running rough, as if there was a load being placed on the engine. Then of course, it would cough and die. Have you checked the ignition module? It's the plate that the coils sit on, that has the wires connected to it. Most junk yards sell the complete coil pack (mount, ignition module and both coils) for 25-35.00 $.
It sounds like it might actually be the ignition switch.
What are signs that brake pads needs to be replaced?
The good (for you) answer is that a mechanic needs to inspect them and see how much of the pad is left. How often this needs to be done depends on the mileage since replacement, the type of driving that you do (city/highway), how you drive and possibly the weight of your vehicle. On a big heavy SUV driven in city traffic by an aggressive driver the pads could wear out in less than 20,000 miles. On the other hand a compact pickup driven exclusively on the highway in a reasonable fashion could go 50,000 miles on a set of pads. The bad (for you) answer is you will hear the bare pad backing plates grinding on the roters. This is bad because it probably means the roters will have to be replaced as well as the pads, making the job much more expensive.
Minor edit: some pads have a "wear indicator" or squeaker. This is a thin piece of sheet metal that will contact the rotor when the pads are pretty worn out. If you hear a high-pitched squeak (only when braking) or an intermittent squeak-squeak-squeak when driving at low speed, this indicator is telling you that your brakes need to be looked at. There is usually a groove in the center of the pad - if this groove is worn through (like the treads missing on tennis shoes), then replace them. Or, if they are less than 25% of original thickness, I'd recommend replacement since they are not expensive. On a passenger car, the driver's side front brake (usually the outboard pad) receives the most wear, by far.

1994 Chevrolet Cavalier: Your owner's manual is the best place to locate your fuse box(es) and identify your fuses. Don't rule out that your issue is being caused by a bad bulb braking the circuit too - so check fuses and bulbs. See sources and related links below for bulb information.

On the passenger side at the top of the engine. There should you should see two plasic caps. One is low and one is the high side. Pull the cap and stick the connector on it. Dont worry the Low side only fits on the low side. The high side has a different size. Idiot proof. Hope this helps.

How to Replace the Front Motor Mount About This How-toAuthor: ninteyonez24
If your motor mount is falling apart, or you notice excessive engine movement, it is time to replace one or more of your mounts. This how-to shows you how to replace the front motor mount. This is the mount located on the left side when looking at the engine from the front of the car. This how-to was written by ninteyonez24, with image labeling and additional diagrams provided by myself, moonwell.
Parts New Motor Mount Thread locking compound
Tools 13mm socket and ratchet, various extensions, torx bit set, Philips screwdriver. An air ratchet helps ALOT in the tight places.
How To Do It Step One Locate the front motor mount. Use the below diagram to help you throughout this how-to. Step Two Jack up your car enough that you can get underneath. Jack up the engine to take the weight off the mount. You can use a regular floor jack with a block of wood in between the jack and the oil pan, so you don't cause any unnecessary damage. Step Three Remove inner fender shield (big pan looking thing under the car). Step Four Remove charcoal canister (black round thing with plugs and pipes in it near sliver A/C thing) Step Five Remove two top bolts that are near the taken out charcoal canister. Step Six Remove bolts holding mount to engine. Step Seven Remove bolt on the bottom by the A/C compressor (watch out for this, there is a welded nut in the frame where the bolt goes, the nut is welded to a thing that looks like a bent tongue depressor, which holds onto a cutout in the frame which holds the mount, DO NOT LOSE THIS or you will be very unhappy in the hours to come looking for it) Step Eight Remove mount, and Install new mount. Step Nine Install bottom nut with the funny tongue depressor. The diagram in step one lists all the necessary torque specs for all the bolts. Step Ten Install two top bolts. Step Eleven Install engine mount bolts (you may have to pry the motor in the direction you need it to go in in order to get the side bolts in, you also may have to lower/raise the motor depending on how high you raised it in the first place, i actually had to raise it by the compressor on occasion in order to get it just right) *NOTE* do steps 10-12 in any order that works good, and install all the bolts loosely at first so you can wiggle and jiggle that mother around a bit, just take your time and don't strip anything! Step Twelve Install inner fender shield and the charcoal canister. Step Thirteen Lower the car, and you are done. No more bouncing motor!
