Yes it will cause your car to have low oil pressure. Anyone who has that problem needs to get it fixed. It also makes a mess and could cause the engine to seize if you lose all your oil.

Your question cannot be answered without knowing the condition of your engine, but my 2002 Passat 1.8T manual states that overfilling the engine oil pan will dump the excess oil out the exhaust and also into the catalytic converter, of course. In similar fashion, any engine problem that allows excess oil into the upper cylinder area ( broken piston rings/ perhaps worn valve guides, etc ) can possibly result in excess oil going thru the cat and out the exhaust pipe. Does your engine emit any blue smoke out the exhaust, or can you smell any oil smoke odor? I would probably do a cylinder compression test to see if this could help pinpoint any problems. none unless u plan on taking corners like a nascar car, a windage tray keeps oil near the bottom near the pump during hard turns where g forces push oil up the sides unless you drive your suburban around every corner over 45mph i wouldn't worry about it

To my knowledge, oil additives are a good idea only if you start using them when you buy a brand new and you are the first person to own the car. It is not a good idea to use them with a car you bought, when you are perhaps the third or fourth owner ; car with high miles, not good idea. The vast majority of oil additives are snake oil products. Leave them alone. Change your oil & filter religiously and do not put any additive in your engine.

All the modern cruise ships have some sort of sonar on board. It is used to look at the depth of water below the keel. Sonar is relatively cheap because the current electronics technology and the manufacturing techniques used for it are advanced. Sonar rigs are so cheap that small 2- or 3-person fishing boats can be equipped with it at only a modest cost. The so-called fish finders can be had for a couple of hundred bucks. When the safety of a large and expensive passenger ship and the lives of passengers are at stake, why not have a unit on board to tell you how deep the water is? They cost benefit ratio is such that it is crazy not to have a sonar unit or two on board. Sonars have been able to give cruise ships and other ships clear and successful navigation even at times when conditions are not that well.

Completely totally clean the underside of the engine using water and engine shampoo. You really shouldn't let it go down the sewer drain, so do it at a car wash, or have it professionally done. Once it's spotless, you can let it idle for as long as it takes to find the oil leak. If after 10 minutes you're not getting any leaks, take it for a low speed drive. Avoid a highway, since the air turbulence will whip the oil all over the place and make it hard to find the source. Check for the leak again, if you still can't find anything, let a mechanic do it. The two most common things I've seen leak are, the Valve Cover Gasket
and the Oil Pressure Sending unit (More often than not.)

There are a number of possibilities. Did it leak over a period of time, maybe a few drops here and there every time you ran the engine? Did it suddenly just show up as a puddle under the engine one morning when you went out? Did it show up right after an oil change? Generally, if you haven't been watching it closely and suddenly you noticed that the oil was low or gone, it's probably any of a bunch of possibilities: rear main seal, valve seals, piston rings, gaskets, failed oil pressure sending unit, loose drain plug or oil filter. If you went out one morning to start the engine and there was a big pool of oil under the engine, your oil pan drain plug probably worked loose, wasn't tightened completely or the oil plug gasket is damaged. Otherwise, you'll just have to clean off everything with engine degreaser and a high-pressure washer, then add oil and run the engine to see where it's leaking.

Your question did not specify if the discs you're experiencing trouble with are CD's, DVD's or PS2 Games. However, it could be something as simple as dust in the unit on the lens that reads the discs, which can be cleaned with a simple and inexpensive lens cleaner disc available at most audio/visual stores or your favorite video game store. Alternatively, there could be a problem with the unit itself. Let's face it, if you're like most PS2 owners, your console has taken quite a beating over the last few months/years. It probably yearns to be recycled into a PS3. PS2's are getting pretty cheap now with the PS3 on the market. It might just be time to upgrade - and what a great reason to do so. Can't afford it, grab yourself another PS2 at a bargain! Happy gaming!

your heater core has got a leak and needs to be replaced

In my 1993 Ford F-150, I had oil in the breather due to a blown head gasket.

Vacuum leaks at the intake manifold gaskets, which causes the vehicle to run lean and cause the check engine light to come on. This is usually caused by a poorly designed baffle in the front valve cover that allows oil past into the PCV system ,and into the intake manifold which softens the gaskets and makes them leak. There is a redesigned valve cover to correct this. Raise the hood and see if the front valve cover is black(origional problem cover). If it has been changed to the new design valve cover, which is an unpainted aluminum cover(new design), then the intake gaskets may have already been replaced as well.

put in a thicker oil if its the motor but if its trans. change oil and change the seal on the peace that you remove to take the oil out.

Park the vehicle on a level surface. Change the oil & filter and add 4 liters. Start the engine and run for a few minutes. Shut it off, wait 15 minutes, check the level and add as needed. You will then know.

The gauge may have gone bad, the oil pressure sending unit may have gone bad, the oil pump may have quit. I suggest you find the oil pressure line coming off engine, put another oil pressure gauge on it and then just crank the engien to see if you get any oil pressure whatsoever. If you don't, then I would check the oil pressure sending unit next before I tore the oil pan off to examine the oil pump itself. Whatever you do, do not run the engine with zero oil pressure otherwise you will seize up the engine and that will cost big bucks to repair.

DO NOT HAVE YOUR OIL CHANGED WITH JIFFY LUBE! My engine blew as a result of their carelessness, and I have been in a dispute with Jiffy Lube, as well as Nationwide Insurance for over two months! In fact I even sent an email directly to the president of Jiffy Lube International, Luis Scoffone, who's email is: luis.scoffone@shell.com. Within 16 hours of that email being sent (only 4 of those hours were normal business hours) I received a call from the Jiffy Lube manager for Colorado, Dave Thies, who's phone number is: 303-229-6533. He informed that I should make my complaint to the insurance company, Nationwide, because it was out of his hands. I have already been in correspondence with the claims manager locally, a Mr. William (Bill) Schwerin, whose phone number is: 303-918-4436. I then asked Mr. Thies whether or not Jiffy Lube had the ability to resolve the issue outside of the insurance company. He replied that yes, the could, but that they refused to do so. DON'T GO TO JIFFY LUBE!!!

gas smell in oil is caused by blow by raw fuel pasing the rings on the piston therefore getting in the oil...........bad rings Now, now... That's not very fair. Just because there's a gasoline smell in the oil doesn't mean you should go tearing your engine apart to get to the rings. Generally this problem is caused by a vehicle running way too rich (is it misfiring?) or is a problem in the fuel pump area. Could be a combination of things. Plugged or damaged pcv valve; Loose or damaged oil drain plug; Worn or broken piston rings; Plugged, dirty or poorly connected fuel injector; Leaking fuel filter or fuel filter connections; Faulty fuel pump or connections; Punctured or damaged fuel tank.

you may have another bad turbo, or could even be bad rings with the oil leaking into your turbo, how long after you installed the turbo did it start happening again?

1995 civic LX is 1.5 liter 16 valve engine. It is non V-tec. The gas tank holds about 12 gallons of fuel,and 3 1/2 to 4 quarts of oil.
