yes. you can clean your throttle body by taking the intake hose off and having a buddy open the throttle plate for you while you spray it with carb cleaner. sometime you will need a whole bottle to clean it and den wipe it down and keep the plate open until it dries.

Sounds like a fuel problem. First change the fuel filter. If the problem presists after this, look at other areas such as the fuel pump, fuel pressure regualator, etc.

Absolutely it can! What is happening is when the transmission is trying to unlock the torque converter and downshift to a stop, it isn't coming unlocked, and thus the engine is still locked to the wheels, like not pushing the clutch on a manual. You can avoid this hopefully by putting the transmission into neutral when coming to a stop, or try tapping the gas when the shaking starts to see if you can force it unlocked. See your Jeep or local auto shop to have them look at it. They may possibly need to replace the entire torque converter. . (This is from personal experience with the 32RH Transmission in a 99 Jeep Wrangler)

vacuum leak, choke set wrong, out of time, dirty carb, fuel filter dirty, bad fuel might need tune up some plugs might be missing (not Firing). But vac leak sounds likely.

My 1994 626 stalled as I was driving when the distributor/ignition module went out. This causes no spark to the engine and it won't start. Pull out one of the spark plugs, hold the tip against the metal valve cover, and have someone else crank the motor. If you don't see small sparks, it may be the distributor assembly. Autozone offers the best deal with the distributor assembly as it comes with a lifetime warranty. Costs about $170 if you reuse your cap and rotor. Somewhere I read that Ford will sell just the ignition module and coil separately, but it was easier for me to just buy the whole thing. The module and coil are two small black boxes on the distributor.

There are a number of other reasons for a motor to stop running. This is a common one for 93-2000 Probes/mx6/626. .

I would like to add that we just need more information to help you properly as there are a lot of items that could potentially be the cause of your problem. Check for fuel with a cheap fuel pressure gauge at the fuel rail if you are getting decent pressure it shouldn't be that if low or no pressure (fuel pump), next check for spark, if your not getting spark (Crank sensor or ignition module/ distributor), the last item to check is compression if your compression is really low or none I would guess timing belt. Symptoms of broken timing belt engine turns over weaker than normal, no compression, etc) pull the cover off the timing belt to check if it is still in one piece.

it could be alot of different things, bud. my 89 is doing the same thing and i still haven't figured it out. they say its either the module, or ignition coil. the fuel pump could be bad. a vacuum line could be bad. or there could just be a bad relay.

iT would be hard. Exhaust pipes are filled with black film dust smog which is very dirty and smlley. If you wore a gas mask and heavy duty gloves it may make the job easier. See your Jeep manual, it will tell you steps A-Z on how to remove it.

The speedometer cable gear is broken inside the transmission. If the car is older, it is an easy fix. Follow the cable to the input on the tranny, unscrew the cable and the gear is right there. Pop it out and replace it with a new one from the auto parts store. They should be able to order it for you.

May be a defective ignition control module, or coilpack. I had a bad ignition switch that was cutting power to the fuel pump, when it does this listen for the fuel pump to come on before restarting. I have a 2000 Intrigue. I had the same problem and it was a crank case sensor. You might get a cheap fuel pressure gauge and hook it up. See what the fuel pressure reads when the engine dies (do this in the driveway). If the pressure is dying, try a new fuel filter. Answer Ignition switch

There could be many reasons including the spark plugs may be worn or not gapped properly if the car does not idle right, faulty spark plug wires, vacuum leaks, incorrect ignition timing, incorrect compression ratio. The culprit could also be the EGR valve or plugged PCV valve, fuel pump not delivering fuel properly, timing chain worn. I would suggest get the car check out.

only if the engine is on its last legs , try removing the valve and see what happens . to be safe have a mate holding the key so you can switch off straght away if any problems . dont run engine for over 15 seconds with no valve as if engine is on last legs then it may!, pump oil out and destroy what you have left!!!

Mines just started doing that, I was having a problem with my exhaust manifold ( there was a hole in it, so big noise lol ) just had that fixed an it starts stalling everytime I press the clutch down even at high speeds funny thing is it jump starts itself when you lift the clutch again. Anyway I haven't solved it wondering if anyone had, I 'm replacing the spark plugs ( checked this morning they have quite a bit of carbon fouling on them ( & snapped one on way out so may as well change em ) changing the HT leads too so if that solves it I'll say but otherwise anyone help ? thanks

Primarily the result will be incomplete burn of the mixture or no ignition at all. Reduced compression reduces the particle pressure of the molecules in the cylinder resulting in variations of the burn pattern. This results in uneven pressure build up in the cylinder which manifests itself in a lack of power. Thus drivability of the vehicle is affected.

sounds to me like a fuel pump if the engine continued to run but accelerator did not work then check for broken or disconnected accelerator cable both at the pedal and the throttle plate

check for low alternator charge voltage when heater fan is on if alternator has anything lower then 13.5 volts have alternator load tested.. idead charge voltage is 13.8 to 14.5 volts is alt checks good scan abs codes and see whats up auto computers are very sensitive to voltage loos or overcharging. email me with more if you need help g ps check battery connections if any corrosion puul off batt cables negitive first pull center screw out and check both sides of bolt cables for corrosion if found soak cable ends in baking soda/water mixture to get rid of acid then wire brush cables also check the negative battery cable has a second wire that grounds your chassis. if that wire is hot when engine runs with heater on it means you have a bad body ground turn engine off remve black wire to chassis or radiator support and sand the terminal and sand the metal it attaches to. engine grounds are becoming more of a problem due to the use of more plastic being used means less ground points and aluminum tend to oxidize ground connections faster then cast iron does

all starters have a built-in fuse to protect them now depending on what kind of car you have it may or may not use another fuse to further protect the starter but you can check your vehicles manualv

There are several GM alts that can be converted. Later model units will each need A wiring diagramn. If you are using the '75 and up to the mid '80's alt. It has one large lug on the back that has A nut on it. This is for the charge to the battery, There are two spades side by side on the side near the back. You will need to connect A wire to the one farthest from the battery lug and connect the same wire to the battery lug. The spade that is left will need to go to the extra post on the starter, the one that is NOT for the solinoid wire. Inspect the front tires they may have a bubble on one of them it is possible that a wheel bearing is going out but the easy check is to inspect the tires after you have driven it a few miles
