Car Stalling Problems

the ecm is behind the glove box. take it down and replace the prom. the prom is behind a plate held on by two screws.I have fixed two cars like yours by changing the prom.

Prob same reason my 03 sls does, bad crankshaft positioning sensor, but only one problem, there are 2 of them so you have to replace both, i thought i had bad gas ,becuase check engine light wasnt staying on, but that wasnt the case. Good luck.

It is possible that your coolant temp. sensor isn't functioning properly. This will tell the engine to rev higher until the coolant is warmer. Is the check engine light coming on? Several sensors can contribute to this. Bad spark plugs can also contribute to this problem. Excessive carbon buildup around your throttle plate area can cause bad idling also. Hope this helps you some.

After checking all electronic sensors, check the computer

if the engine is cold the computer says I'm cold so rich up the mixture and speed up the engine via TPS. then once the engine warms up another sensor tells the computer it has warmed up and decrease the TPS signal slowing the RPM down.

There are many things that can cause a car to cut off. Lack of electricity throughout the car, lack of fuel through the fuel system, and parts not being connected or firing correctly.

Are you certain that it needs actual repair and not just recalibration?

The wheel may be over turning and rubbing against the body or mud flaps. There may also be a missing or broken part that is hanging and rubbing against the tires. I would recommend getting it fixed at a body shop may also be defective rack and pinion. or caster difference between front wheels are excessive.

The idle for a 1986 Honda Accord is adjusted by a idle air control valve. These function by either tightening or loosening the valve. This controls how much air is allowed into the system, more air means higher idle and less means lower.

Clogged fuel filter, Replace the filter.

the fullsize has a small block Chevy V8 its firing order is 18436572 On my 93 blazer it has a point sticking out of the timing cover on drivers side its hard to see the crank has 2 marks i set mine on the 2nd one it works fine

replace the hose or gasket the is leaking, you can spray carb cleaner around the eng whil runnig to locate the leak the eng will try to stall

Check the gasket between the throttle body and the intake manifold for a vacuum leak.

My best guess is that the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve may need to be replaced.

Your piston rings need replaced. One of the two piston rings on a piston is for oil control. This is either worn or broken and needs replaced.

It's the same as the left side except that the wiper transmission housing won't be in the way.

Water buildup in the gas tank,causeing fizing in the fuel lines.Octain is important to a combustion engine,there has to be anough explosive energy.If theres an abundent of water excess,the engine cant conbust properly,there for causeing stalling. Yes possibly but i would look for smoke as well since oil will create smoke when burned. I would think that dirty fuel that clogs the filter, or water mixed with the gas might cause stalling and would also come from bad gas stations.

most likely the alternator is dead and when the battery drops below certain voltage the computer for the car can no longer operate and the vehicle shuts down

Try adding dry gas into the tank at every fill up, its possable that water is some how getting into your gas tank. You may also consider changing the gas you use and the gas station you fill up at.

Ignition problem ie damaged ignition wires or incorrectly gaped spark plugs. Fuel system malfunctions. Vacuum line leaks or air intake blockages.
