How do I switch my 1985 El camino manual carb to and electric carb?
It depends on if you are referring to an electric choke type carburetor or a Electronic carburator. The latter will require a computor, wiring harness and new distributor to name just a few. The cost would by far outweigh the good.
first get rid of that quadrojunk carb and spend a few more dollars on something worth installing and then reask this question
Answers such as above are not helpful. Quadrajet carbs work excellently delivering fuel economy and performance. This person wanted help with the vacuum lines, not a flippant reply that showed your bias and lack of knowledge. If the original poster still needs help, he or she should find a good manual or pay Alldata for a schematic.
What is is jet for in carburetor?
the jets are inside the carburetor. They look like brass pipes, they can be unscrewed. The jets have to be clean (the hole has to run all the way through the jet) in order for the engine to run.
How do you convert fuel injection into carburetor 350 Chevy?
Change intake manifolds to a manifold that accepts a carburetor. That's really all you need to do. I'd recommend against it though, because EFI is a LOT more efficient than a carburetor is. HP will likely go down while fuel consumption and emissions will likely go up. Now it will work just fine because there is very little difference internally between an engine that uses a carburetor and an engine that is fuel injected.
How do you clean a Yamaha razz carburetor?

vacuum lines, there are three one for each petcock and one for the vacuum advance, the two for the petcocks go to the carb boots, one on each side, and the one for the vacuum advance goes directly to the no. two carb.
You CAN'T, There is no adjustment. ( NOT ADJUSTABLE ) It is all computer controlled.
You need to have engine scanned with a engine scanner at a good shop that you TRUST. Then you will find out what the problem is.
Will a 600 carburetor fit a 350 small block Chevy motor?
Yes, and will work well, however, depending on the make of the carb, you may have to use a base plate adaptor, from square bore, to spread.
There is no reason you would have to.
How can you tell a catalytic converter is bad?
usually if catalictic converter is bad , it will stink like rotten eggs when u drive if you can get under car and shake converter, if it is bad it will rattle. other than that there is no good way to test a catalictic converter
This is the exact opposite of the truth. The rotten egg smell means that the catalytic converter is working properly.
"It's (the smell) hydrogen sulfide or H2S. It does not exist in the fuel or oil, which is why you can't smell it at the gas station. It does, however, come from the gasoline. Almost all gasoline contains organic sulfur compounds with sulfur levels ranging from 30 to 100 parts per million, approximately. "As the fuel burns, the organic sulfur compounds break down into simpler compounds. If the engine is running lean (more air than is needed to burn the fuel), the sulfur is likely to be SO2, or sulfur dioxide. The catalytic converter can change this into SO3 (sulfur trioxide), which then reacts with the catalyst to form sulfates on the catalyst. Over several minutes there is a build up of sulfates. If the engine suddenly starts to run rich (not enough air to burn all the fuel), such as when you stop at a red light, climb a steep hill, or brake hard to slow down, the chemistry changes. Now the sulfates are unstable and they react to form hydrogen sulfide, which is expelled from the exhaust pipe all at once. The high concentration is the reason for the bad smell! This effect is a common problem with new vehicles because the catalyst is working at a very high efficiency. However, as the catalyst gets older, the activity drops. Fortunately for us, one of the first reactions to be affected is the formation of hydrogen sulfide. So as the catalyst gets older, the smell will go away. It should also be noted that many catalysts never smell bad. One reason might be because the vehicle doesn't run lean for much of the time, or perhaps the catalyst has an extra component that reduces the production of hydrogen sulfide. "Next time Eggbert and Shelley stop behind a vehicle that smells bad, they can be grateful that it's at least not contributing much to atmospheric pollution." Thanks to this month's Whizard, Dr. Gordon Bartley, a senior research scientist in the Emissions Research Department of the Automotive Products and Emissions Research Division. Should there be oil leaking through your carburetor mount if not what can you do to cure this?
You Should Not be getting oil leaking ANYWHERE in the carb(urettor) /fuel feed system
1: If by carb mount U mean the manifold/head joint then a: Possible Head crack b: Leak may be from bad tappet cover gasket c: Major Valve/Head problems ( engine will run rough if at all) 2: If U mean the rubber mount under the carb itself then: Most likely cause is an unusually high condensation of oil blown up the breather pipe into the air filter enclosure which is dribbling down the side of the carb. This is fairly common in worn engines (worn compression rings at least) Otherwise provide more detail (try to pinpoint exactly where the oil is coming from, is Air filter housing oiling up inside, Car Running rough, poor starting even after tune up, etc) or Get a Professional Opinion Either way closer examination is required, it sounds like U're in 4 a minimum of an engine split (head off at least) Good Luck
The above refers to golf/Jetta Mk 1 models. I have no idea if the carb layout is similar in any of the higher Marks.
If what you mean is oil in the carb, then maybe you have a PVC valve problem. When the PVC valve gets plugged, oil from your exhaust backs up into the air filter, then gets drawn into the carb. Check to see if this is the case. A PVC valve and a filter is a lot easier to handle for repairs than a block or head gasket. Good luck.

Where is the carburetor on a polaris sportsman 500?
On top of the engine. You have to remove the fuel tank to gain access. Not a lot of fun.
Why does fuel shoot out of the top of a rochester 2 barrel carb?
Possibly the float is stuck or the needle valve is stuck or has dirt in it. Clamp off the fuel line going to the carb so no new fuel can get in. Start the vehicle & run it till it runs out of fuel. By doing this if you're lucky whatever is stuck in the valve may sink to the bottom of the bowl. Unclamp the fuel line after the engine runs out of fuel and restart the engine. Hopefully it will now be o/k and save you having to disassemble the carb. If it still does it, it's time to disassemble and while you're at it you might as well put in a kit.
Carb cleaner doesn't really clean anything when you spray it down the throat of the carburater. The parts that need cleaning are the jets and internal lines. The only way to truly clean those parts is to remove the carbuater, disassemble it and clean the parts. Some carb cleaners can make a little difference if you run them through the tank, but spraying down the throat only gets a little surface carbon off, if that.

The main reason to spray OTMAN carb cleaner at a carb while the bike is running to check for a vacuum leak. If you hear any change in the engine noise when you spray carb cleaner at the joint between the carb and the head, then you've got a vacuum leak. Get a new carb-to-head gasket.
the tranny could be mis-shifting(auto), this is an electonically controlled tranny.....and could be complex... service the tranny, and when refilling add a LARGE can of Trans-X, this will free up the valve body... if its a stick trans, or auto, the STRUTS could be going, or front control arm bushings...etc...front end stuff... check all the basics in the tune-section of a manual, and keep at it until your F*&^%&^%groovin again..:) also the library should have a professional shop manual available in the reference section for FREE to make copies of--the PRO manual has more detailed info, and may have wiring diagrams when needed...read up and fix 'em like a PRO...good luck Dave :)
Any source for vacuum diagram routing - 1970 Oldsmobile 442 455 ci w Rochester carburetor?
Yes, the original chassis service manuals. You can find them on eBay from time to time. Not too hard to come buy.
It's stuck open. The needle isn't seating. More than likely there's a small piece of debris stopping the fuel from shutting off.
