EGR system failure. The EGR valve has failed.

P0442 (EVAP emission system leak detected small leak) It could be a pin hole leak in any part of the fuel system, from the gas cap all the way to the vacuum lines on the intake manifold. A service shop has a tool to pressurize the system with "smoke" to locate source of leak.

In most 90's and up Dodge/Chrysler vehicles, you can try to pull codes from the car's computer as long as you still have a charged battery. Put your key in the ignition, and turn it forward, but not far enough to engage the starter. Turn the key back to the Off position, then forward, back and forward again. In early 90s vehicles, the Check Engine light is going to flash a number of times. Often, code 55 means it is completed. In mid and late 90s vehicles, you will often get a 4 digit code that may help you diagnose problems starting, mostly checking the eletrical, ignition and sensor systems.

After repair, you reset with a scan tool.

If you made the repair(s) yourself, simply disconnecting and reconnecting the battery will reset it. This avoids the $85 scan tool charge or "legal theft" at the dealership.

you can disconnect the battery for one minute >> then reconnect it ..... that should put the light out

Try disconnecting the positive battery cable for at least 15 min. If this doesn't work you will have to take it to the garage to have the computer reset with their machine.

I have a 97 ram,check engine light is on and it is a misfire in cylinder 7. Tried resetting and replaced plugs wires cap and roter. Still on dont know what to do next will not reset! To reset the annoying "CHECK ENGINE" light, try disconnecting the battery for 10 or more minutes. When you re-connect the battery the light should be off. (Now you can re-set your clock and radio settings!)

Sounds like you need 2 get a new transmission!!make sure its not the netural switch heres how you test if its that if the car moves a little and your rev upto 5 then let go of the gas and see if the gear kicks in if it does that is the neuttal switch !

use a scan tool

use a code reader either press reset.

pull dome fuse with 2min , put back.

its reset.

on 2006 c/k 1500 series gm trucks, the evaporative emissions vent valve solenoid is in front of the evap cannister underthe driverside of the truck. a 13mm socket will remove the bracket that holds it in, then you need a couple of small picks to take out the plastic clip that holds the hose on, and unplug the two-wire plug, and Viola!

With the proper scan tool.

Try change'n your thermostat... worked for me..

ive been lucky enough to have driven a few of these vehicles. The "check engine light" is usually on the left side of the dashboard indicators and is actually a small message that reads "service engine soon".

A problem has been detected with the EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM if the symbol of an engine lights up solid in your gauge cluster when the engine is running . If the engine symbol is flashing , an engine misfire has been detected

The engine management light is on for a reason. The car needs to have a diagnostics run on it and the fault corrected. Usually it will then reset itself and the fault will be recorded in the ECU memory. The codes can also be erased with the same diagnostics equipment but if the fault is not cured the light will come back on. Renault will usually put the car on there diagnostics for 1/2 on hours labour. You can then decide if you want them to repair it or find someone cheaper. Most local garages have diagnostics these days but not all can read the Renault codes.

I had the same problem. My issue was the PMD - Pump Mounted Driver. It is located in the engine valley under the manifold and it is typical to go bad. I replaced mine with an aftermarket one purchased on eBay with a heat sink and a six foot cable. Took me 15 minutes and my truck started right up! Good luck.

Something left unplugged or disconnected? Dumb luck? Some check engine lights are programmed to come on after a certain amount of miles. Maybe your car got to that mileage at the same time. I vote for the first one though. Use only Toyota original time belt

There are pages and pages of things that can cause a check engine light. You need to have it checked with a scantool. Then the code can be diagnosed and repaired.

need a scan tool wich can be purchased At any parts store or simply disconect battery if it is a hard code will come back on until problem is fixed

Removing battery ground cable for a couple minutes should reset the light

Have vehicle scanned to determine the problem

Severe misfire

most likely neutral switch but check bulb first neutral switch is located right front under lower frame tube behind exhaust pipes
