you must use an ODB-2 code reader/ code eraser. You first should read the code or codes and write them down. These tell you what is wrong with the car. (such as code p0401, which is the common air pump failure code)You can get a cheapo reader/clearer at harbor freight for about $25 or a decent one for about $75-100.

You need to replace your coil. I had the same problem on a95' accord and the new coil cleared it up.

First you must know that replacing the O2 sensor is what is needed to repair the problem indicated by the check engine light. Then you need to be sure that you replaced the right sensor( most vehicles have more than one). If all this has been done give the computer a chance to readjust, it usually takes about 50 miles of driving before all the different systems are ready to report properly.

We just had ours reset today and the guy used a computer hooked up to our car. He told us the is the only way to do it. I'm thinking you should be able to unhook the battery though. Make sure you have all your codes before doing this though.

I was able to reset by holding odometer button down while turning off ignition switch and turning ignition switch to on and watching dashing go from 5 to 0 and the maintenace odometer resetting to zero.

Have vehicle scanned to determine the problem

There is a single green plug under the hood on the passenger side of the engine, in the back next to the firewall, (there is also a 5 wire plug next to it, dont mess with that) take a wire with a spade connection and plug it into the single green connector and ground the other end. (connect it to the body on a clean metal spot) then turn the key on, but DONT start it. watch the Check Engine Light, count the flashes and pauses. EX. flash flash flash flash flash (repeat)

this is a 3-2 code, look that code up and find the error.

Yes, when you turn on the ignition the Check Engine light will come on for a few seconds to show you the light is working. It will go out if no problem is detected.

The Check Engine light is on because the ECU has detected a problem with the emissions system on the vehicle. Have the ECU scanned with an OBD2 scan tool to retrieve the code that has been set. That code will tell you what part is being effected.

Bank 2 is the bank opposite cylinder #1.

Trouble code P0573 means:Cruise control/brake switch A circuit high

Remove the positive and negative lines from the battery for 24 hours and when you hook them back up it should reset the switch and turn off the light

You have to take it to a truck repair shot or dealership. The fault codes can only be read with software and a special adapter to link up to a computer.

The car should be taken to a mechanic if the owner doesn't know what he or she is doing. Otherwise, there are books for each type of car that can be gotten to help fix almost anything wrong if the person knows what they are doing.

I would think that almost all diesel systems are near infallible, I didn't look it up but my first look would be at the solenoid on the pump to see if is shorting at low voltage. My second look would be to my fuel pump at the tank or inline. The other place would be to the ignition switch. These are some simple but obvious points to start with. If you are having more problems after these checks , you will need a mechanic. You could have a broken injection head that will allow you to start , accelerate then stall at low rpms.

the only way to reset is to have a t4 testbook computer do it at the dealer or jag shop yes if it is the orange check engine light it must be reset with a t4 but if it is the red service engine light this is just a reminder light telling you that after 75,000 miles you should replace youre o2 sensors.under the drivers seat you will find a brown relay box on the top is a sticker with the land rover logo.Stick a straight pick through the Land Rover emblem until it wont go any further down.The light will never bother you again

to change all freeze plugs on any engine is expensive, as the engine and transmission need to be split to get at pluigs behind flywheel.sometimes the engine needs to be removed freon vehicle to get at others

There are pages and pages and items that can cause a check engine light. You need to have it checked for codes with a scan tool. After repair light can be shut off with scan tool.

Either try disconnecting the battery for about 10 minutes or have the vehicle scanned to determine the problem and have codes cleared
