Trouble code P1494 means: Leak detection pump pressure switch or mechanical fault

Check for a broken/damaged wire on the sensor that is near the bottom of the washer tank.

The powertrain control module has detected a malfunction Take it in and have it scanned for trouble codes in order to have the problem repaired (Helpfull)

The thermostat itself costs about 7 bucks. You can do it yourself with a 13mm wrench. The people at the parts store can show you where it's located.

There are pages and pages of things that can cause a check engine light. You need to have it checked with a scantool. Then the code can be diagnosed and repaired.

It could be many things.... might be as simple as a short in an O2 sensor wire.... might be moving and rubbing metal when facing down hill, then moves away when on level. Did you take your car to Auto Zone ? They can plug in to your on board diagnostic port and run your codes to tell you exactly what the issue is. Try disconnecting you negative battery cable for about 5 minutes.I found that this will reset the light from a temporary fault with an oxygen sensor. If this doesn't work or the light comes back on later I recommend having the dealer check before any engine damage occurs ....Robert

I removed the negative battery cable for about 20 min. Your radio will not work after this. You have to remove the face plate, get all the numbers that are on top of the radio and then I called a number that was in the back of my handbook and a lady from Mitsubishi gave me the code. Jeanie

It can be anything from the printed circuit in the dash to the speed sensor on the trans. Have it checked out by a good mechanic.

Infinit's website says that removing battery cables for 24 hours will reset the Service Engine Soon light. Computer memory is only 24 hours so it should go off when cables are re-attached. If light comes back on, take to a service center for diagnostics. Try this next procedure. This worked for me (procedure turned off the SES Light off). Changed the spark plugs using Bosch Platinum +4 spark plugs (four electrodes); awesome plugs. Cleaned the Mass Flow Sensor using Mass Flow Sensor cleaner. Whallah, the light turned off instantly and has stayed off. Performance on car has increased and it runs very smooth. This worked very well for me. The process has tuned my engine and has allowed the gas to burn more effectively. The O2 sensors have responded by telling the engine computer that the engine is running cleaner. Before trying this tuneup process, 89 and 92 octane did turn off the light for awhile as well. But the tune-up turned off the light completely.

Check your intake house it may have a whole in it....if it does and your not sure if you want to buy the whole hose......tape it over with electrical tape and see if it work and if it does get a new house....the tape only last for about a couple of house and also the location of the whole to makes it hard to tape.....but that's is what i found out on my jetta

This usually has to do with air flow into your engine. Check your air filter, egr valve, or your oxygen sensor. Most likely you haven changed your ir filter for a while. Give your vehicle time to reset itself through the on bord computer.

this means that the computer has a stored error code. Have a mechanic or a dealer or Autoze parts store check the code for you and determine what caused it. A replacement of a faulty part may and in most cases will be required.

Sometimes if you remove one of your battery cables, for approx. 15-20 seconds, then hook it back up,when you crank the car it will go off. also, If you have a local AUTOZONE in your area they will turn it off for you free of charge and can also tell you why it was on in the first place. Good Luck!

This should have set a code; I would have the codes pulled from your computer to find out the problem. Autozone used to do the free.

You simply dissconnect the battery for about 15-20 minutes. Now if you want to have it read, just take it to a place like auto zone, or advanced auto, and they can tell you what that light is for, and then they can even clear it for you all for free. Just ask them if they can check and reset your check engine light. Theyre reset takes about 10 seconds, so its alot quicker!

Use a code scanner to figure out what's wrong. There isn't much point in guessing. If the light is on the computer has stored a code.

I find in most cars with computers that if you disconnect the negative lead to the battery for about 20 to 30 seconds that the check engine light goes out. If it re-appears the you need to have it a code reader hooked up to the computer to find out what's wrong

You need an OBD II scanner. Many auto part stores will scan it for free. If the code is not locked in until the repair is made, the CE light will go out after the codes have been displayed 3 times. Harbor Freight sells a scanner for about $35.

If the check engine light is blinking , that means an engine cylinder misfire has

been detected . You can drive the vehicle in for repair , just avoid any rapid

acceleration or deceleration because you can damage the catalytic converter

Probably a senor: MAP, MAF, IAC, pr TPS

The check engine light comes on when the computer detects a problem and sets a code. You need to have it diagnosed with a scan tool.

The loudness may be an exhaust leak. the o2 sensors will pick up the change of exhaust gases and set the Check engine light.
