How do you remove dashboard on a clio?
To remove a Clio dash:
1. Remove screws securing the steering columb UPPER shroud.
2. Remove the 2 x torx screws at the bottom of the instrument gauges.
3. Remove the 2 x plastic plugs at either side of the dash. (you would need to open the door to see these.
4. Gently ease out the 3 switch panel in the dash centre. DO NOT REMOVE THE STEREO PADDLE, THERE IS A SCREW IN IT THAT YOU WILL BREAK OFF FOR SURE.
5. Remove the 3 x torx screws securing the screen demist vents (1 either side and 1 in the middle.
6. Firmly grasp the dash and pull straight towards you, then upwards, you may not need to fully remove if fitting a stereo system wiring harness.
7. Be careful of the airbag on the passenger side.
8. Be warned that if fitting a new music system ISO wiring interface, you need both parts from Halfords. The instructions are not clear, do not remove any wiring from the speedo or rev counter. The new interface plugs into the back of the centre display. Remove this by depressing the small plastic retaining clip either side of the clock panel, slide rearwards to extract. Remove the long red plug by lifting the small black plastic clip on the plug and as you fold it over to the other side the plug will come out of the socket. Fitting is a reversal of removal.
9. Note that with the dash lifted, the car will not start as there is a safety switch to prevent you driving the car with the airbag exposed as it could take your head off!
10. To refit the dash, make sure it is about an inch rearwards, and fully lowered into its normal plane, and just slide it FORWARDS into place. DO NOT try sliding forwards if not fully lowered as you will damage the airbag catches and / or break the 2 plastic struts which sit around the air bag ends.
11. Then refit all the switches, screws etc.
12. Another word of warning - If you are fitting a new stereo system, the wiring at the rear of the stereo gets quite tight. If you just cram it in, then ram the stereo home in its cage, you will damage the wiring behind, guess what this is? Yes, its the wiring to the engine ECU, sensors etc etc, the next thing will be after a few miles, the car will begin cutting out and acting in an irrational manner. You have been warned, take your time when replacing the stereo system.
GOOD LUCK, Mick H
Why does security light come on and the dashboard lights flash?
Your passlock security is activated or failing. Many things can cause this. 1 or more of three things. The key chip is bad, the ignition cylinder that reads the key is bad, or the TDM (Theft Deterrant Module-computer that reads the info) is bad. All of which can shut down your vehicle by keeping it from starting, or shutting down while driving.

What does the red flashing s symbol on the dashboard of your vauxhall astra automatic 1996 mean?
I think it's telling you there is a possible problem with the auto-box.Corsa's are like this,so I'm guessing Astra is the same. The "S" should light up when you press the sport button on the gear selector, this causes the intermediate gears to hold on longer for accelleration or hillclimbing with a caravan on the back. You could try cycling the "S" button to see if it helps, though I think it cancels anyway with ign off. The "S" symbol flashes to alert you to a problem,it may require no more than a computer reset. The gearbox is checked for faults with a diagnostic kit, same as the engine.Hopefully,a short visit to a dealer will solve it for you.
We had the same problem with a 1995 Asta - I plugged the scanner in and cleared all the codes and the light no longer flashes, so your answer seems perfectly correct!

What does the tc light mean on a 98 vectra?
hi, if the TC light is on (orange) then it means you have your traction controle switched off, if it's the switchble type there should be a button on your center console that says TC push that and it will turn the traction controle on again makeing the light (orange) go out. When the TC is on the TC light should only flash on and off again briefly if the wheels try to spin then go back out again. If it fails to go out from pushing the TC button in or your vectra doesn't have switchble TC then there is probably a fault with your TC.....Hope that helps.
How do body kits help your car?
Most body kits are said to help your vehicle go thru the air better and routes the air either under, or around and past your car so you can go faster, or get better gas mileage. But you need to fidn out what a body kit weighs. Sometimes you end up bolting on more weight and lose the benefit of the kit as far as any horsepower or gas mileage gains. Some kits are made to allow you to put wider tires on your car. Some kits are made to direct air to a cooler or turbo Some kits are made to hold your car down in the rear at high speeds Some kits are made to press your car down as the air flows over it improving adhesion to the road Some kist are just made to make your car look different Some kits are made to make your car look great Some kits are made to make your car look stupid But it's your car............
