What size are the front caliper retaining bolts on a 2006 ford expedition?

9MM. Very hard to find. Snap-On tools has it. Maybe Sears.

Some Auto-parts stores will carry 9MM as a part of a large set of Metric hex bits; you will rarely find anyone selling them as a single hex bit.

What would cause a sloshing sound under the hood of a 2001 Sebring LX?

How do you replace the key for 1998 ford expedition?

Take the Vehicle Identification Number to your local Ford dealer. They can cut a new key for you.

Yes and no. The 1998 Ford Expedition uses what is called a Transponder key and must be programmed. In order for the key to be programmed they must have the vehicle to do this. So , you will have to have the vehicle towed to the dealership. If you just need a key that will get you into the vehicle, they can cut it on a regular non-transponder blank, but you will have to provide proof of vehicle ownership. If the information was recorded properly at the assembly factory the key should operate the doors, it will also operate the ignition but the vehicle will not stay running, that's where the transponder key comes in.

The most affordable way is, if you have any type of (ERS) emergency roadside service plan, call and they will dispatch a locksmith, depending on the plan you have, all or a portion of the cost to make and program the key may be paid for. They should be able answer that question. If you do not have any ERS than I would start calling your local locksmith's, do not go with the first price you get. Do yourself a favor, call as many locksmith's as you can, prices will be different.

I'm a locksmith in Jacksonville, Fl. and I know for a fact I've had people tell me they have got prices as high as $300 and as low as $100 (that's me) to come to the vehicle and do this job, and there may even be someone less than me, you have to call to find out. Sorry this answer is so long but I hate it when people give answer's when they really have no business doing so. If your going to answer a question, do and do it all the way.

By the way. A lot of Ford dealerships have stopped cutting keys for vehicle years 1998 and prior. When calling the dealership or a locksmith remember, you are hiring someone to do a job, some of these people will act like they are doing "you" a favor, hang up and call the next dealer or locksmith. So many times I'm asked why the dealer or the locksmith's were rude or wouldn't answer any questions. After 22 years in business I'll never understand how they can be rude to people and still be in business, I guess they are so busy they can pick and choose their customers, if they are rude on the phone, imagine what they will be like when they get to your vehicle. Remember, it's your choice.

If an airbag blows up can it be replaced without getting a new airbag module this is for an old model ford fiesta 95?

If you want to replace it, that's fine, however, that will be ALOT more costly. I had my original SRS module sent in for a reset. I just googled a company called www.myairbags.com and they reset mine for $55 and shipped it back to me free of charge, I hooked it up and worked fine for me.

*Disconnect battery if you are working with the Airbag Module, if its powered and it feels movement, It could trigger the Airbags to blow.

In tank fuel pump Volvo 960?

The Volvo 960 in the UK is a straight-six 3 litre model. If North American 960's are similar then yes, there is a fuel pump mounted above the fuel tank - it actually fits onto the fuel tank.

There's also another fuel pump located beneath the car, just aft of the front passenger seat (driver side in the States ..) in a bracket along with the fuel filter.

There's an eBay (UK) guide at http://reviews.eBay.co.UK/Volvo-960-Automatic_W0QQugidZ10000000003233806

There's also some photos on my website that may help you (www) glennsmart.btinternet.co.UK and choose 'Volvo 960' from the drop down menu.

How do you take out the interior light of a 1999 Toyota Camry?

This answer applies to the Australian-built 1999 Camry CSi. The interior light (in the middle of the roof) was made by Britax Australia, and might or might not be the same as lights fitted elsewhere in the world. To remove the lens, insert a very thin-blade screwdriver between the clear lens and the grey plastic body - at the end *opposite* the switch. At this end, there are 2 short lugs. At the switch end, there is 1 long lug, and you'll break the lens if you lever there. After gently levering the lens off, set the switch to OFF (central position) - you don't want to blow a fuse when your screwdriver accidentally contacts metal to metal as you lever out the 10 watt festoon globe. My globe filament looked intact, but was nevertheless faulty - so don't be fooled by appearances. Brian. Adelaide.

In your opinion is it a good idea to convert the air suspension to coil springs all 4 corners if so any recommendation on which kit to use?

I like the air suspension myself but you can change the fronts and rears with springs and struts for around $400.00. There are a couple of people selling the replacements on E-Bay. They are fairly easy to change, can easily be done in an afternoon.

Changed radio fuses for 97 Corolla and it doesn't work?

If the radio fuses have been changed on a 1997 Corolla and the radio still does not work, check to make sure the radio is not set to the CD or Tape player mode. It is also possible that the radio is not working because the speakers are not hooked up properly.

Why wont my 2004 expedition not start after i just replaced the fuel pump?

FUEL PUMP SHUT-OFF SWITCH After a collision, if the engine cranks but does not start, the fuel pump shut-off switch may have been activated. The "Fuel Reset" indicator light will illuminate in the instrument cluster. The shut-off switch is a device intended to stop the electric fuel pump when your vehicle has been involved in a substantial jolt. 1. Turn the ignition to the OFF position. 2. Check the fuel system for leaks. 3. If no fuel leak is apparent, reset the fuel pump shut-off switch by pushing in the reset button. 4. Turn the ignition to the ON position. Pause for a few seconds and return the key to the OFF position. 5. Make a further check for leaks in the fuel system. Roadside emergencies The fuel pump shut-off switch is located in the passenger's foot well, behind the kick panel.

Where is the oil filter on a 2004 ford transit?

Later (Y Reg onwards) transits have "canister type oil filters" . You remove these by getting underneith the vehicle. On the right hand side of the engine (LWB /RWD) or front of the engine (SWB / FWD) you should see a large round plastic cover with a "hex" on it. " to the best of memory this is a 32mm hex head. Undo this cover to the point where oil just starts to come out then leave to drain. Once the filter has drained then you can move the cap completely. This way you avoid making a complete mess!

Where are the grease fitting on the 2002 Expedition and why don't they show you in the owners manual?

There are probably no grease (zirk) fittings. Ford ususally uses non-servicable tie rod ends and ball joints anymore, so if you dont see a zirk fitting, put the grease gun away. Oh and by the way, when the old joint wears out and gets replced, the replacement has a zirk fitting. Isn't that funny?

How does cruise control work?

Cruise Control Basics

Cruise control systems have been with us for years. They work very effectively to control the speed of the vehicle, but when they fail they can be a bear to diagnose and fix. Cruise control systems are comprised of electronic and mechanical subsystems. This is how they work. We all know that the things that control the speed of the car are the gas pedal and the brakes. And the brain that normally controls the speed of the car is the brain of the driver. The driver senses the speed by looking at the speedometer and then adjusting the pressure on the gas pedal or the brakes to compensate for variations in the desired speed. The cruise control system does the same thing with one exception. It only controls the gas pedal - it doesn't even know there are brakes in the car!! The vehicle's speed sensor which is mounted on the output shaft of the transmission (the thing that drives the wheels) sends electrical pulses to the computer, pulses which are generated by a magnet spinning past a sensor coil. When the vehicle's speed increases the frequency of the pulses increases. For any given speed of the vehicle there is a corresponding pulse frequency. It is this pulse frequency which the cruise control tries to maintain as a constant. You think of it as the vehicle's speed. The brains of the control box of the cruise control has three functions. First, it stores the speed of the vehicle when you press the "set" button while traveling at the desired speed. It keeps this value in its memory until you turn the ignition off. Second, it receives the pulses from the transmission sensor and compares the frequency of those pulses to the frequency value stored in its memory - the set point. Third, it sends pulses to a vacuum controlled diaphragm connected to the accelerator linkage. The pulses it sends regulates the amount of vacuum the diaphragm receives. The more pulses, the more vacuum and the more vacuum the more force on the accelerator linkage. The system continues to add vacuum force until the set point speed is reached. At that point the system modulates the amount of vacuum the diaphragm receives in an effort to maintain the number of pulses coming from the speed sensor as close to the stored value as possible. OK, so this "brain" works just fine in controlling the speed of the vehicle until something goes wrong. What can go wrong? First, the VSS, the thing that sends pulses to the brain might fail. Normally the speedometer also fails so that's pretty easy to diagnose.Next, the power to the brain can be interrupted. A blown fuse or a corroded connector can prevent the brain from working correctly or at all. Next, the brains can lose its ability to function. A faulty component can prevent the brain from doing its thing. The brain is a pretty sophisticated box that contains a lot of electronic components including a microprocessor. Normally when the brains fail you need to replace the box.. The vacuum diaphragm can develop a leak. If that happens then the cruise control might set and hold the speed for some time however if the leak is larger than the supply line and modulator can add vacuum to the system the system will slowly lose control and the vehicle will slow down. This can also happen if the vacuum line to the diaphragm is cracked or loose. Finally, the linkage that connects the diaphragm to the accelerator linkage can fail. Some aftermarket cruise control systems use a short length of what looks like fat key chain - bead chain. I have seen several units fail when the chain simply breaks. Diagnosis of a failed system can be a complex process. Most vehicle shop manuals have a multi-page diagnostic flow chart that the dealer mechanics use to solve failures. If there isn't an obvious problem like a broken wire, a blown fuse or a leaking vacuum line then the problem most likely lies in the brains of the unit or in the switch that sets the speed and contains the other functions of resume and accelerate. Most cruise control switches are on the directional signal stem, a multifunction switch assembly with fine wires that break due to the constant motion of the wires as you use the directionals in your daily travels. If you do an initial diagnosis and can't find the problem then go to the library in your town and get the shop manual. That is the only way you stand a chance of diagnosing and fixing the problem.

How do I change the oil in a Lexus IS 300 WHere is the oil filter located?

under the car remove the 3 screw on the under panel on the driver side. Bend the under panel out of the way there is a crease on it. shine a light to see the filter.

You also can actually see the oil filter from atop the motor, its on the drivers side right above the exhaust manifold, i just changed the oil and the filters the other day and i used my hands to take it off. If you have slim hands then you will be able to do it right from the top of the motor versus having to take off all that stuff on the bottom of the car.

How do you change plugs on a 2000 expedition 5.4 Triton v8?

The 97 and up 5.4 Triton is a pain. It has coil over plugs, meaning each cylinder has its own coil mounted to the plug. Here's the overall on this procedure. First, be prepared to spend the better part of an afternoon. The problem is clearance....especially on the back two cylinders on each side. I had to remove the wire cover mounted on the passenger side of the firewall above the engine and one of the wires in order to get the room I needed. I also had to loosen the fuel rails so I could move them a little to get the socket and extension to slide in. You'll need to remove the plastic engine cover. It's held on with three bolts. Unplug each fuel injector and coil. You'll need the space. It's tight. There is one small bolt...8 mm I think..maybe 10mm that holds each coil on. Remove this bolt. The coil now removes just like a plug wire. Now you can get the socket and extension in. With the way these are down inside the cover, it's a good idea to loosen them a turn then blow them out with some compressed air before completely removing the plug. Install is just a reversal of all this. A couple of things to consider.....this is a pain to do. Use a good set of Platinum plugs. You don't want to be doing this every year. Make sure to use anti-seize lube on the plugs. If you have a lot of miles on it, you might want to go ahead and replace the coils if it hasn't been done before. The coils are expensive. I found a set on eBay that were about 1/4 the price of local and they are working great. Good luck.
