What would cause a 1990 Nissan Maxima to run rough?
Try replacing the Idle Air control valve! I am having the same problem, and cannot find anyone who knows where it's located so I can take it off.
UPDATE: The Idle Air Control valve is located underneath the throttle body. Remove the throttle body, turn it over, and voila! There she is.
How do you change a speed sensor in a 1996 Ford Windstar?
I'ts very hard and it took a day but I know what to do. You need to remove the heat shield that is located behind the front wheel on the passanger side of the car. after you remove that you haft to drop the exaust starting from back to front the sensor is mounted on the top of the transmission good luck with reaching or laocating it that's what took me all day. When you do you need to unplud the wire and remove 1 bolt. That's about it if you have any Questins you can email me at feliciti927@yahoo.com I have a book on the same vehicle.
Where is your actuator located on 96 ford windstar?
Given that this question is posed in December (Winter), I'll assume the referenced actuator is the one that controls the temperature blend door...
That actuator is almost directly behind the radio. It can be accessed easiest by removing the radio (not hard to do), and/or up from underneath down by the gas pedal.

How do you get the interior lights of a 1998 windstar van to turn off?
Clean or replace sensors near doors,if its anything like a 95,the lights will go off in 45 minutes.Do what I did to my 95,take middle dome lightbulb out so its not too visible for people to see.The other lights will go off eventually.
Why does your car steer so easily and the steering wheel vibrates on highway?
I experienced the same problem with my ford. After checking out a couple things i discovered during a tire rotation that i had a bent rim. These happen when you hit potholes. I was able to replace the rim with a re-tooled one (saved me about $100) and the vibration immediately stopped. The bend wasn't really visable to me but after it was off the wheel i could see it. You should stop by your local tire place and get it checked out.
I'm having the same issue as you are. Reshutting...uh...nearly slamming the doors multiple times eventually fixed it. However the problem is back every day and now the rear interior light won't shut off. All the doors are shut and there is nothing blocking them. I'm still searching for an answer. 1997 Mercury Mountaineer 5.0 L could be that the rear hatch may not be closed completely, i have had the same thing happen on my 1998

What does it mean when the ABS warning light lights up in a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder?
There is a fault with your Anti lock braking system, if you hit the brakes hard the wheels will skid rather than automatically cut in and out. Its worth getting to the garage ASAP as its a very important crash prevention mechanism.
Why would the fuel gauge on a 2001 Buick Century be stuck on full tank?
good question. mine is too. sometimes i see it slamming over all the way to the left on empty, then the light comes on chimes ring. and if you have to go into the tank to fix it, or its going to cost me more money, guess what? it's staying broke. my fix so far is that i reset the odometer after i fill up. after a couple hundred miles, time for another re-fill. good question. mine is too. sometimes i see it slamming over all the way to the left on empty, then the light comes on chimes ring. and if you have to go into the tank to fix it, or its going to cost me more money, guess what? it's staying broke. my fix so far is that i reset the odometer after i fill up. after a couple hundred miles, time for another re-fill. Where is the tachometer wire on a 1996 Ford Windstar GL?
i dont know whwere is the tachometer wire of 2001 ford windstar
check the main relay under dash of driver side.it is a gray relay.listen or feel if it clicks when you turn the key on.
The first thing to try is to turn steering wheel left and right while trying to turn the key. If the key was turned off and the steering wheel was in a turned posistion, there could be pressure on the wheel and that stops the key from turning-- it will feel locked and jammed. Release preassure from key by turning wheel each way while turning key.
1996 Taurus pcm will not communicate with scan tool you have checked fuses and pcm and power to dlc?
If you have continuity from the DLC back to the PCM on all the pins that it should, and the PCM has power and ground everywhere it is supposed to, you probably need a PCM. Before I throw a PCM at it though, I would make extra sure that you have checked all of the stuff that I spoke of first. Remeber the PCM will have more than one power and more than one ground input.
What if your 98 windstar dies when you come to a stop but not all the time any ideal's?
It could be a faulty Intake Air Control valve, a vacumm leak, or a faulty transmission torque converter lock up slenoid. The most likely are the first two I listed.
Differnct Respondent: I'm a 1998 Windstar owner and had a similar problem. Van would stall out occasionally following stop. Took it to dealer and they did some sort of clean out of the air intake cavity and fuel injectors. I don't recall exactly but cost was prbably less than $200 and Van no longer stalls out
Where is the Heater control valve for a 1997 ford windstar?
Temperature control in most Ford vehicles these days is through the use of a "temperature blend door" mechanism. This door/flapper adjusts the amount of air that passes through the heater core that is then mixed into the air blown into the cabin.
This door is moved by a small actuator motor - which in the case of Windstars, is a very common failure point.

Why wont my 2003 Chrysler Town and Country crank but not start?
I had the same problem with my t&c, if you have the digital dash look and see if the odometer lights up when cranking. if not i swift pound on the dash right above the gauges usually works. (I found that on another help site and it worked for me)
forget about it --if it broke off in the dipstick tube it has fallen into the oil pan - there is no way it will get past the oil filter screen in the pan (daddmac) GFish: Tack weld a nut onto the end of the dipstick tube, Than turn the tube with a ratchet, until it either comes out, or collapses, you may choose to used either PB lubricant during this procedure, or take a can of compressed air ( computer keyboard cleaner ) and carefully spray the stuck part while holding the can upside down.( This deep freezes the part to well below sub zero temperature.)
Make sure you have a good ground
How do you repair or stop the paint on your van from peeling?
My own experience is that the peeling is the clearcoat layer of paint. Once it starts, there really isn't much to do beside a re-paint job.
Waxing over it in the meantime provides some modest cosmetic improvement, but it won't last long.

Why is my vehicle's defrost blowing cold air when set at warm?
If the temperature cannot be changed for any of the direction settings, e.g., defrost, vents, floor, then the problem is very likely to be the blend door actuator motor.
