Amost ALWAYS, low oil pressure is the result of worn main and/or rod bearings. If you are having oil pressure problems, immediately change the filter only, check and top off the crankcase. BUY a QUALITY filter, not the same brand you are using. A certain brand is known to have poorly chosen materials in the construction and they will fail, eliminating oil pressure to the engine on a random basis. Paying extra for a good filter will never add up to the expense of a ruined engine, it's no savings if you saved $5 on a filter and paid $1500 to repair it. If the pressure is not dangerously low, but you want to improve it, use a teflon based oil additive as they will pump up the pressure 15 to 20 pounds. Keep in mind that 20 pounds of oil pressure on the gauge at idle is normal for many cars when warm.

Yes it can. However you should also check the wheels for correct balancing and the front brake rotors for straightness. Edited by Karusai- Also check to make your lug nut's are tight, especially if you just had a brake job done or any kind of front end work. Another cause for vibration is USUALLY due to any of the following- Ball Joint, CV Axle, Tie Rod/End, Sway Bar. I know this because I just had it done it on mine. Another thing, your lug nut's have plastic cap's (or should) that screw on to your lug nuts. Make sure that when your lugs are torqued, they take off those plastic caps first. I almost lost a tire Friday January 29th when I picked mine up from E&H Auto in South Haven Michigan 49090, do NOT go there. The fuel filter is located under the rear area of the car near the center. Jack up the car and secure it to make it safe for crawling under. From the rear of the car, you'll see a barrel shaped filter with fuel lines running to it under the rear passenger seat area. You should relieve fuel pressure from the lines before removing the fuel filter. I just remove the fuel cap for this. Be sure, also, to use a backup wrench on the fittings. The fuel flows only in one direction so be sure to install the new filter in relation to the flow.

Align compression rings exactly in between any of those 4 points with gaps 180 degrees from each other. Center oil ring gap must be 90 degrees from compression ring gaps with the top and bottom gaps 15 degrees to each side of center oil ring gap.

I did my 2000 306 HDi today. Remove the plastic fuse box cover. Remove the convoluted air pipe. Remove the 4 nuts that hold the steering column and lower it as far as it will go. Sit in the seat (ie you dont have to be laying in the footwell upside down) put your hand in above the column and up through the hole, the switch is to the right, (RH drive car) pull the wire and the switch will come out of the hole in the bracket. Afrter plugging a new switch into the loom, push the switch throught the hole, turn on the ignition, keep pushing the switch in (it clicks every time it goes in further) until the brake lights go off. Press one more click. Bolt in column, replace air pipe and fuse box cover. Hard the first time, 20 minutes after you have done it!
Hi. Did my 306 1.9 TD XR 1998 yesterday. Unbolting and lowering the steering column did the job. Very easy, however be carefull when refitting the steering column as it allows some adjustmest from side to side. Watch for the marks made by nuts.
