Where is the power steering pump for a 1986 Chevrolet Celebrity?

Looking over the passenger side fender the power steering pump on a 1984 to 1986 Chevy Celebrity is on the left side of the engine. On the 2.8L V6 it is below the level of the exhaust manifold near the bottom of the block. It is a bit of a pain to get to.

On the 2.5L 4 cylinder engine it is on an arm off of the front of the engine below the level of the intake manifold.

How do you replace the tie rods and ball joints on a 2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue?

Other then carefully with tools, the tie rod ends will have to be the only answer i can give you for now, the ball joints I'll have to look at my car and give you the answer for that a little later, the tie rod ends you have to 1st) jack the car up. 2) Remove the tire 3) behind the brake ,kinda, You'll see the tie rode end which is attached to the CV boot. On the bottom of the tie rode end where its attach to the wheel mount you'll see a bolt that's about an 18 or 19 mm in size, first try to remove that nut. Try using PV Blaster to help lossen it up. If that doesnt work you can try to use an air gun, again that just might casue the whole thing to turn and not just the nut. So what you can do is one of like 3 things. You can heat up the nut to lossen it from the threads, 2 you can get a pickle forck under the tie rode end and pull up really really hard, and try to remove the nut that way...you may need a friend to help with that, or you can cut just above the nut. Like if you can see one or two threads that should do and it will cut off pretty quick...use a hack saw. Once its remove keep the tie rod end in the wheel mount. Next get a wrench that will fit the nut that on the rod...sorry i can't remember the size. Put that wrench on the nut. Now get your hammer and hit the wrench a few times, trying to get the nut away from the tie rod end, just to lossen it , not to fully get it away, you don't want to get your tired out of alignement. Next after you get the nut lossened, remove the tie rod, and put hte new one on. Remember if your tie rod come with a nipple for grease, put the nipple on and put grease inside the tie rod, also if it comes with a cotter pin use that once you have that tie rod, you know where theres a little hole on the threaded rod part. Once you put the nut on slide the cotter pin in and bend it so it wont fall off. Ok i hope this helps with your tie rods.

How do you change the oil filter on a 2002 Oldsmobile intrigue 3.5?

Remove the drain plug (on the front side of the oil pan), drain the oil

about 8" or so (going from memory) behind the drain plug there's a black cap, undo that, and that's where your oil filter is located...it's a cartridge rather than a canister which threw me off at first, but it's a very nice car to do an oil change on, almost don't have to even jack it up

The above answer is one of about 100 that are totally frustrating!!! "there's a black cap, undo that, and that's where your oil filter is located"..

The easiest way to remove that cap is with a swivel oil filter wrench(the metal kind) wrap it around tighten and turn, once it's loose just undo by hand. no special too required, I've done quite a few oil changes on mine and this has always worked

here's a picture in case you need

What is wrong with a 1998 Oldsmobile intrigue when the trac off anti lock and service vehicle soon lights come on all at the same time?

It means there is a problem with your brakes, your anti-lock braking system, and/or your traction control system. I'd recommend seeing a qualified brake specialist and have the problem diagnosed. The lights come on when a problem is preventing the systems from working properly, which could cause a loss of control in wet or icy road condtions, or could prevent the ABS system from engaging in an emergency stop, which could cause your breaks to "lock up," reducing your control of the vehicle.

How do you reset the ABS anti-lock light on a 1995 GMC Sierra pickup truck?

Resetting The ABS on a GMC SierraI have had this same problem with my 1990 GMC Sierra three different times over the past several years. The first two times it happened I took it back to the dealer who said the ABS is disabled if the brake and the accelerator are pressed at the same time, even for a second. Both times they charged me $40 to flip a switch to reset the ABS. Last year after I loaned my truck to my daughter I noticed that the emergency brake light was back on again. I wanted to see if I could reset it myself but was told by GMC that it "could only be reset by a GMC dealer". Nevertheless I was determined to figure out how to do it myself. Eventually what worked was to completely remove both battery cables from the battery terminals and let the truck sit for a couple of hours in order to allow the computer time to reset the ABS (letting it sit for just a few minutes didn't work). When I hooked the battery cables back up the emergency brake light was out and my ABS was working again.

If this doesn't work, try putting the vehicle in neutral, engine off, and roll down the driveway. Apply the brakes, and start the vehicle while still in neutral, with the brake pedal pushed down. This cleared the light on my '95 GMC.

How do I Change Fog lamps on 2002 Oldsmobile intrigue?

The lamp is in a socket that plugs in behind the reflector/bezel assembly. A couple bolts hold each assembly in place. You may be able to reach the lamp socket and twist it out without removing the whole assembly from under the car. Be careful to not push too hard, the reflector housing is all plastic.

Why would thre rear brakes stop working on a 98 Olds Intrigue?

Don't know of any brake symptoms unique to Intrigues. How do you know it is the rear brakes? If you detected the rear brakes being bad because the emergency brake doesn't work, probably a snapped cable. Assuming the car still stops (front brakes still work), you could have worn pads (unlikely), a broken brake line (probably will cause the front brakes to quit working soon - look for leaks), a faulty master cylinder (rear brake cylinder shot - unusual). I'd take her to a brake shop if you can't diagnose the cause. I't hell when you are headed for a school bus and can't stop.

What is wrong with the cruise control on your 1993 Nissan 240sx SE if all the buttons work the light comes on in the dash but it won't set?

I have experience in this area. Assuming that the fuses and relays are working properly, and the green LED lights up on the "CC On" dashboard switch, ABSOLUTELY do this next: First: Check the vacuum hose on the Actuator Assembley (located conveniently on right side under the hood near firewall) for integrity, cracks, and proper seating. Replace the hose if it is cracked, split, or dry rotted ... or, cut off the bad secton and re-connect to the Actuator Assembley (if there is enough length left). Take the car out and test the CC (about 30 MPH minimum is necessary for CC to engage. Second, if the above does not apply, check that the interlock micro-switches for the brake and clutch pedals are making contact with the rubber bumpers located on the ears of each pedal, and that they are properly adjusted. These bumpers can dry rot, split, and fall out of the holes that they are inserted in, and thus the switches will not "bottom out" to close the contacts when the pedals are released and normally back. The switches are "normally open", and when the pedal is applied it opens (breaking the circuit) and disengages the Cruise Control. These switches (adjustable) must be "closed" when the pedals are released back to their normal position ... allowing the CC to actuate when "Cruise" or "Resume" is selected on the Steering Wheel. Easy Access Hint: Remove the screws from lower cover panel (below the steering column) and just let it drop freely. You will now be able to visualize, analize, test, adjust, and access the switches and bumpers more easily. Please share back your experience using this technique. kevin_justice@yahoo.com

1998 Oldsmobile intrigue shift button won't go in?

Are you talking about the button that will put the shifter into drive, park, etc? If so, I once lost a "U" shaped clip that holds the whole shifter together. I could not shift because the buttons were not aligned. Try pushing down on the shift knob or pulling up on it....if it has a lot of play or comes off, replace the u clip.

Where is the blower of a Oldsmobile intrigue?

The blower motor is located under the dash on the passenger side. You will have to remove the piece of carpeting that the footwell light is mounted on in order to access it. I had to replace my blower motor recently. My advice is to have a mechanic do it. It's location makes it incredibly difficult to remove the mounting bolts and bolt the new one in. The money saved by doing it myself just wasn't worth it for me.

How do you replace a rear view mirror in an 1999 Intrigue can't get the button off the mirror?

I have a 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue. The rearview mirror on my car has twin maplights, and on the back it says "Donnelly IE 8012001". I just re-glued my mirror to the windshield after it fell off. Some other cars use a screw to attach the button to the mirror, but this mirror does not. Instead, I used a flat-head screwdriver to pry the button out of the mirror -- be careful to not to hurt yourself or the mirror. After prying the button out, I studied the mirror, and there doesn't appear to be any other way to remove the button. When gluing the button to the windshield, be careful to figure out which side and orientation the button needs to face before gluing it to the windshield.

Where is the crank case sensor on a 2000 Olds Intrigue?

Do you mean the Crank Position Sensor (also called a CKP)? On 3.5L it is on the side of the block between the firewall and engine (backside if you are looking from the front of the engine). You can get to it from under the car by first loosening the starter from the transmission and dropping it out of the way. The sensor is held on by a single small bolt that you can get at with a flat wrench. I don't know if the 3.8L is similar. The 3.8 wasn't used after the 1999 model year.
