On the radiator cover, there is a sticker that shows the diagram of the belt routing.

I found it's easier to remove the fan cover and start on the bottom center then the part of the fan is not in the way then go down around the right pulley and set it on the top right pulley then the same on the left the top center you may meed help so you dont do what i did and get your finger smashed when getting it under the top pulley the tension pulley it gets pushed down to the left as you r looking at it and feel the pulleys and if there are groves the belts groves go there

Every 12000 miles or 2 years whichever is sooner, under firm thumb pressure there should be 5mm of movement midway along the longest run.

Did you change out the belt? I had a chirping and squeaking on mine and my 95 Impala and I couldn't isolate it so I went with the cheapest repair, a new belt and low and behold it solved the problem. As soon as I hear a noise now, it's belt first then more expensive parts last! Good Luck

click on it. Now on the left side of the Auto Zone screen, find Vehicle Repair Guides and click on it. Now select vehicle year and click on it. Click on Ford. Click on Aerostar 2 WD or 4 WD. Click on 3.0 or 4.0. Now it shows Repair Guide so click on General Information & Maintenance. On right side of screen click on Routine Maintenance & Tune Up. You should now see a list of different items including Belts, click on it. Scroll down to see Removal and Installation now look for your motor, click on it. You should find all the routings you need for the serpentine belt.

a pully underneath the alternator moves with an end wrench. turn the nut clockwise and the belt will loosen up

no adjusting bolt u have a serpentine belt.that has a tension pulley that automatically adjusts if belt is loose, u need to replace belt

look under the hood there is usually a diagram somewhere there

Most cam belts last for about 70.000 miles.. many people say dont change it until it breaks and you musn't listen to them your cam belt keeps you valves open as the rods are pushed through them at the same time when u cam belt breaks, the rods push through the valves and will blow them of causing you engine to break. the head gasket will go aswell leaving your engine completely useless and very exspensive to fix about £600 - £700 where as repalcing your cam belt just costs £60 so its worth while plus ull get another 70,000 miles out of it and is good for seeling your car again. I presume you mean the A/C compressor. The easiest way is to buy a serpentine belt for the model of the vehicle you have without A/C fitted, and then use that. This is a known temporary cure for roadside assistance.

1st of all the nut is a T47 star socket which you have to loosen to relieve tension on belt.

2nd sleave old belt around fan and off the alternator then fit new belt on like the old one

3rd start to tighten pulley tensioner and hold it all the way tight, you may have to use a bar or a wrench to tighten belt then tighten down the T47 nut all the way

4th belt should be able to move the length of a nickel

5th this is how I did my serpentine belt and it worked so good luck.
